Great price for a decent little board - these do handle the ryzen 3950x at stock settings with a little airflow over the vrm’s

    • I’m still undecided what Ryzen to get for it to be honest, I have a 1600 at the moment and I’ve been out of the game for a while so literally have no idea haha.

Honestly as you probably know as you are looking to upgrade, the 1600 is starting to get old now.

In this current market, if you have a GPU then any cpu you can get your hands on will suffice

        • I’ve still got a 1070ti that seems to be doing fine, might just get a 3600 through one of the current deals $240ish seems pretty decent

          • @Nomad2233: I've got a 3700X and a 1070, and the 3700X is far overkill for my GPU. 3600 would suit perfectly with a 1070Ti

            • @maybe a bot: Oh sweet! I was worried they wouldn’t be a good match, I’ll upgrade my gpu eventually but everything else seems quite cheap at the moment so might as well do some updates

  • The new 5000 Ryzens will work with this one, right?

    • with a bios update, yes

      • The plus side is that these boards can update BIOS without a CPU. So they are still viable for new 5000 builds.

  • Is there a MAX II now or am I losing my mind?

    • There is, and it is only a couple of dollars more. Only real difference I see is the Max II comes with the bios update for the 5000 series and has a slightly better audio chip.

      • That's a weird minimal upgrade!

        • Seems it’s $159 at centrecom at the moment for that model
