Time people realise others have their preferences and there's no need to be a fan boy of any billionaire company

Unfortunately iPhones are missing too many features I use, so I’m stuck with Samsung. But once iPhones do invent these features I’m sure to consider switching.

      • -1

What features? I'm pretty sick of Samsung's chip issues for aus phones and am considering moving back to iphones but also realise I've grown accustomed to flagship Samsung.

        • +3

Basic tasks like downloading something and playing on the phone immediately.

          Movie, music.

Being able to multitask properly with dual screen (even better on the fold).

Being able to transfer stuff using a usb device (those dual usb c and usb a) without using a laptop.

          Not needing iTunes

Yes yes I get people have subscriptions and don't need to do the above but that's my usage.

If my phone stops getting updates, I can root and get updates that way.

My old HTC m8 got android 10 before the battery swelled up.

Yes yes for some people they just want something that works, but this is my usage too.

          • @mbck: Thanks for that, I've been with android for so long now that I've forgotten the differences between the two

Should they price match given its a grey import

    • Well office works did all their checks so I assume it’s not a grey import.

Good luck with a price beat…

I am waiting for the A52 5G, the S21 has removed to many features that are important to me.

      Care to elaborate?

        3.5 mm jack

      • +1

No charger included and no memory card slot

    • New Nokia x20 uses snapdragon 5G so no exynos issues

  • ordered 2weeks ago

    never came

  • +4

Price in the title is incorrect. You can't list the price beat total at another store.

  • +3

Pretty lucky that OW price matched, dual sim usually means it's 99% a grey import

    • +2

"1 YR AU WARRANTY" = grey import and no support from Samsung Australia, so you're relying on Bexectech if something goes wrong.

    • Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t all S21 models dual sim?

    My terrible S21 Ultra experience:

    19th Jan: I pre-ordered an S21Ultra in its online store .
1st Feb: I received it, very happy with phone and camero and the wirelss charging trio. Battery is a bit issue but ok.

10th Feb: It breaks down. It basically disconnects SIM card and drain battery 50% per hour by itself. I brought to the store, the staff says exchange/refund takes 2-3 weeks. IphoneOppo and Huawei gives you exchange on the spot! But i said OK and let them do the exchange.

After 5 days, samsung online chat agent says it is a faulty phone and i will receive my exchange.

After 10 days, agent says due to availability it may take 3 weeks.

After 15 days, agent says my faulty phone is still on its way to the warehouse

After 20 days, the E-commerce team said due to availability, it will take another 3 weeks.

After 25 days, Samsung store said they just shipped my faulty phone to the warehouse.

After 30 days, the E-commerce team said the warehouse still did not received my phone. it will take another 30 days and i said it is NOT accepetable. after 2 hour phone call, they agree to give me a case manager to look into this issue.

After 35 days, E-commerce team the warehouse received it but forget to label it as "received". Now after 35 days my faulty phone is finally received by them.

After 40 days, they said a case manager is looking at my case again.

After 42 days, i received my exchange phone.

      Thanks for let's us know

    • Not sure why you're getting negged. If it wasn't for my crap experiences with note 4, I'd totally be buying an s21.

  • You have to wonder why this series drop so fast and so dramatically compared to previous series and other competitors. I must say I was not impressed having used it for 3 weeks and was quietly offloaded to gummie for quite a bit of loss.
The battery life is the worse I had seen in any new phones worse than iPhone 12 mini and that one received many complaints about battery life and the galaxy s21 is worse than that. I have used both. Then the appearance the back looks so cheap like cheap plastic and it feels thick and bulky I have revert back to iPhone 12 and never been happier

Bought a 1 week old S6 from a friend who failed to learn how to switch from Apple. Few days out of warranty the charge port failed. Telstra told me to get lost as exra warranties only apply to the original owner.

    • +2

      Australian Consumer Law?

    • I feel for you but I also believe most warranties for many companies do not transfer. If you bought it off your mate and it's still under some type of extended warranty, I'm sure your mate will step up and sort it out for you as it sounds you may have bailed him out after a regretful purchase. It's weird that a 1 week old S6 is already out of warranty though…

      • -2

the way Telstra brands "their" stores but in fact they are franchises and they push out phones to financially unstable people is a disgrace. I know so many people that phones on impulse with outdated credit checks. After all there are endless debt collectors to chase after them. So fine print is fine print. Usually such stores have very complex webs of companies and trusts behind them let alone their arrangements with similar landlords who set rents on their turnover. Blame it on Carlos Slim, they guy who delibarately made Telstra less compatible for some top of the line executives to get extra bonuses.

Anyway bye Samsung, bad interface, unwanted bloatware, I am getting the Poco with the microscope!

        • +1

lol what? i was buying into your story until this comment. Clearly you have bigger issues than simply a Tab S6.

What does your credit check and financial stability have to do with your "friend" buying an Android device and apparently preferring the iOS ecosystem instead and then you buying the device off them at a later date?

Non-transferrable warranties are a very common thing so i really dont know what you are on about.

What tablet does the Poco range have?

        • +2

Are you talking about the Galaxy S6 released in 2015? Are you still friends with old mate?

          • @ihfree: lol i would absolutely cut ties with that friend if made me pay for an SGS6 in 2021

I called OfficeWorks, but they refused to price match from this website as they do not mention a part number or country of manufacturing.
