  • Has anyone ever bought from them?

  • This is good value but I would be careful going down the Boost route. I signed up to a 12 month pre-paid plan with them and 3 months in I received an SMS saying they were reducing the plan inclusion. They later sent an SMS saying that this was on hold for the time being. But not very trustworthy of Boost for customers who pay upfront and are then at risk of not being able to get full value for their plan. Just my 2c YMMV.

If you signed up for the 12 month plan, you keep all of your inclusions until the end of that period, so no need to worry. That would only affect people on a month by month plan. For example, my wife is on a year plan that includes unlimited minutes to country X, while of you her that plan now, it only comes with 1200 minutes. I contacted boost and they told me that you keep what your paid for until the end of your period

      • This is very different to what I was told by their Facebook chat. Glad to know that the inclusions last until the plan's expiry date. Thanks for the info! :)

    • Feels like you’ve misunderstood their communication. They may be reducing the inclusion in three months for new recharges and new customers, but prepaid has always been as it says of the box: you prepay for a set amount of service.

      • +1

Yes that is what was surprising to me. There is a possibility I might have gotten it wrong but the message from Boost about changing the inclusion mid-way is very contrary:

        Boost:
We truly apology , however, we’ll be progressively updating all our customers to our latest plan.

This update will be automatic – you don’t need to do a thing and your service will not be disrupted during the update. We’ll let you know at least 30 days before your update will occur and keep you informed of its progress.

        My reply:
So until i recharge, my existing pre-paid plan which is up till October 2021 will have the same benefits that I signed up for or would they be changed mid term?

        Boost:
Pleas know that your plan won't be changing until March 4 as per the message received. All data, national calls & text and expiry period will carry over. From March 4 your IDD inclusions will change to 20 unlimited countries and minutes to 30 countries. While ***will no longer be included in the unlimited countries, it is included in the 30 countries that have minutes. Your current plan includes 3600 minutes, and your new plan will also include the same number of minutes which you can use to contact ***.

        My reply:
This is not the same thing. The new plan reduces my inclusions. I paid for 12 months upfront on the CIS that was at the time. For the 12 months that I stay on this plan and do not recharge, I expect the same level of service I signed up for.

        Next msg:
Hi ***, I understand your concern. Unfortunately, the roll out will continue but if you do not wish to proceed we will be sending out our refund comms this week and you can opt to proceed with that.

        • +1

Yeah that definitely seems off, it's like they've sent the same message to both month-by-month and longer expiry customers, either way it's definitely their wording that's confusing.

  • If you have any questions about these Boost sim cards, please TEXT me on 0413505707 (no call please). I will respond asap.

    • on the site it says the $300 SIM starter kit (our price $241 delivered)

      • It has been updated. Thank you for pointing out.

  • Sadly, telstra is the worst among the 3 at my home. I just signed from JB, the other day, and have to port out just 10 days due to the unusable signal.

I think I am going to miss all Telstra network bargains.

  • So, this is only for new customers, not for the existing ones, my plan expires on 31/3

    • +1

I got one of these a while ago, contacted boost via chat and they gladly added this money to my existing plan. I was even able to transfer unused data to my wife (also on boost)

    • If you are currently with Boost, you need to opt out to other providers then opt in to use these sim cards.
      Thanks

Can it be used for a recharge?

    • It's not recharge card. It is a starter kit.

      Thanks

  • When you recharge the $200 via app do you only get 30gb?

    • heh i thought it was 65gig + 30 bonus… either way you get 95gig .. recharge dunno call Boost

    • None of the recharges I’ve seen recently have included the bonus 65GB, they’re only offering it to new customers.

My aunt is due for a recharge very soon and I’m hoping to get her a 12 mth with more than 30GB.

    • FWIW, I am on the $150 plan that I recharged via app last week. I got the regular 80GB allocation + 60GB bonus

      • Hi, is this the standard deal 80GB + 60GB? Because it doesn't mention the bonus 60GB when recharging. Cheers

  • site shows UAE (dubai) 3600 minutes included in 12month plan. but when I am dialling it doesn't allow.

  • iHave bought it but….. am unable to dial UAE. can the OP help on it ?

    • Please contact Boost cutomer service to solve the problem. Thanks

  • Does Boost have eSim yet?

    • I would like to know this as well. I don't believe they have it yet but cant find a date they are planning on getting it either. Tried asking the online help and they said they didn't know when they would be getting esim. I asked that if I got this 365 day sim could I change it over to a esim when its available and they didn't want to answer it until they had esim available.

    • I asked the same question today after buying one of these starter packs. Got customer service to activate the new SIM and then transfer my existing number onto it to take advantage of the bonus data.

Apparently there will be eSIM available, but not yet. The idea is that you scan the QR code on the SIM starter pack. It was also suggested to me that these may not be available on packs purchased from resellers for the immediate.

  • OP - please advise expiry date for SIMs
