  • What is “unlimited” “120gb”

    • +2

      An oxymoron

      • No, you are😉

        • I am contradictory terms appearing in conjunction???

          • +4

            @jv: I couldn't have put it better myself😄

    • +6

UNLIMITED is just their name of the plan.

Includes unlimited national calls & SMS in the service period, data limited to stated amount.

      There are always limits!
      Discussed many times.

      • -1

Gotcha, makes sense. Bad naming then, because every plan ever gives you unlimited calls and texts these days. The only thing that’s limited is data - and rightly so.

  • -4

"Oh look, the deal form has a bunch of useful info on what to include. I'll ignore it all!"

  • +2

is this available for existing customers?

  • +3

I have 35 days left on Optus and they're not offering double data for recharge even though they do have data rollover

When does this need to be activated?

    • +6

+1 for wanting to know when it needs to be activated

    • Currently on live chat:

**If you order the SIM online, you will receive the SIM within 2-10 business days.

If you are transferring a number, the plan will not be pre-activated. You can start the number transfer any time that you are ready. The plan will start once the number is transferred.

It depends on the plan if it got a promotion. Plans under promotion must be activated soon after you get the SIM to avoid issues with the activation and promo.

For the 12 month Unlimited 120GB plan, we do not have active promotion.

Yes, you can start the number transfer any time that you are ready once you receive the SIM.**

Sounds like since this is a promo code rather than a promotion (like the $75 plan) then there isn't a period you must activate by

      • Okay, I just started a Kogan 3 month plan so will be waiting like 2 months to activate it. Thinking I'll go for this then.

        • I bought their last deal 90day plan with cashback, those required to be activated within 30 days, I doubt this will be any different.

  • +1

Shopback $35 on this plan or did I read that wrong?

    • i read the same on shopback too, can anyone confirm this? If yes, then $100-$35 = $65 for 1 year (120gb), not bad at all

      • +1

        Shopback probsbly won't track anyway

    • These promos use a code added automatically - which is NOT listed in cashback sites, so no cashback. No harm in trying.

      • Yes, code is in the URL, "KL4RBD"

    • +1

my previous exp with cashback with Amaysim is that it doesn't work . Please check with Shopback before pulling the trigger if you are thinking about that extra $35.

      • I got Cashback during the black Friday sale, but idk if a code was needed for the cheaper pricing

        • +1

No issues with Shopback and Amaysim for me previously

  • What's the last day I can activate the sim?

    • Usually activate within 30 days of ordering

      • cheers buddy

    • Spoke to Amaysim about this, I only touched on the porting number aspect but if you're porting your number then you'll have 3 months until the sim expires. Might be a shorter period to activate if you're using a new number.

      • sweet, thanks BC!

  • Already expired
"Any plan or promo you placed here is now invalid."

    • Did you use this code "KL4RBD"?

      • That code is certainly in the URL: https://imgur.com/a/AQFtQQ4

        • Huh that's odd, working on mobile.

@Castcore: I get all the way through to putting in my payment details and I keep getting this error:

Our shopping cart isn't working right now…
Whilst we twiddle with the on/off switch, we suggest you come back later and try again.

Tried another browser and it won't even let me add the plan to the cart

            • +1

@Skxkwkei: Got that when trying to buy one of these offers recently.
Amaysim told me the reason - i did not qualify for the offer.

  • Damn I just got the $75 6 month plan

    • +1

If you did that in the CR Deal - you should receive $60 back! A much better Deal.

    • That has international call free.

    • I also got the $75 with $35 cashback from CR.
$75 one has unlimited intnl calls, whereas, $30 doesn't have.

So $75 one is good if someone needs intnl calls (like me) :-)

  • +2

Ok now, why you do me like this? I just activated a boost for $160 30gb+60gb … See you in a year

    • send us a letter darling!

  • +3

Please don't beat me up for this, bit. I have been using Amaysim from last 5 months. I am going to move to a different provider now. They use Optus network, but bandwidth saturation is a big issue. You get what you pay for. It's a good secondary service to have to make international calls. But network dropouts and internet throughput is really poor even when I have full 4G coverage. Tout it in perspective, my mobile has used around 14 GB mobile broadband in 5+ months in comparison to 300+GB of cumulative usage on mobile. As soon as I step outside house it has enough internet to do emailing, music and standard deft videos. Nothing more. Plus, it constantly looses internet. In summary 5* for the deal value, 2* for the product itself. Please choose wisely.

Edit: I live in Brisbane south side and work in CBD.

    • +1

Depends on your location. Its an issue with Optus at your location, not Amaysim.

Had same issue with local Optus tower - on Optus SIM. (Am in area close to you.) So all SIM using Optus are a problem.

Has improved after recent work on tower. But due to mountains, there are few available towers to get good reception.

      • +2

Same, i tested an amaysin for a month at my location, and realised it's saturadted and some calls were not comming through, then tested with boost which worked perfectly, and switched to a 12 month plan. Other firends have had the exact opposite situation in their areas. You have to try and test first.

      • Check a tower location site for services in your area. Different telcos have more towers & work better in different locations.

With only 1 Optus tower available near my home, reception was more difficult. Despite that, now have no problems streaming catch up TV etc on Amaysim.

    • I had amaysim and boost (telstra) in Brisbane / Gold Coast and surrounding areas. Boost is much better in the city and remote areas. I experience the same issues on amaysim and I would not go back.

    • I'd have to agree with some parts of that. I'm in a location where the Optus coverage is just a little outside of the radius which has made a huge impact on getting good internet speed. However, go to other locations and I can get super fast speed. I can deal with it as I just home internet, and the mobile data just be for outside use. Optus needs to work on providing better coverage as there always seems to have sections by sections where people just miss out on getting the full coverage. Bad internet at different locations, whereas with Telstra is consistent everywhere I go. I reside in Sydney fyi. Amaysim's customer service is by far the best I've ever experienced and the reason why I have continued to stay with them.

      • It's likely not coverage, but congestion in the backhaul from the towers back to the central network.
Telstra coverage varies too. It used to crawl down at Barangaroo as all the bankers with corporate Telstra plans congested the network. I rarely go there now, so maybe it is fixed.
It isn't easy to design a cell network.

        • I contacted the customer support and they said it is the coverage for my case. My network bar is very low and thus speed is slow; outside of being in a good range to be able to use well.

  • It's saying plan or promo invalid for me

  • +1

The below amaysim webpage still shows the plan as for $200.
Also, on adding the 12 months $200 plan it gives an error…
    https://www.amaysim.com.au/plans/long-expiry-plans/

  • +2

There's a promo code in the link so I assume that this is linked to the OP and they received this offer for them only and for one time use? When I click the link it says promo is invalid.

I received the same deal when I ported out recently from Amaysim.

So this is not a deal and should be closed and marked as an invalid deal.

  • Is it available for everyone? Woolworths currently has $30 sim for $10 so could be a further $20 discount.

  • Doesn't work just says 'hmmm.. your cart is empty' either using the link or trying to add the 1 year plan to my basket

Edit - Banner now on site saying there are issues with buying/activating a sim

    • Same … On and they saying wait 4 hours!

  • +1

    I wish they had eSim

  • Took the last deal $75 for 6 month
Optus suck ba****… Reception is horrible and it's useles.
Called and complained and requested refund due to crappy reception and amaysim was kind enough to refund me.
Signed up with Kogan (Vodafone) $15 for three months and much happier.

    • +3

Where do you live? In my experience it's pretty rare Vodafone is better than Optus.

  • +2

DM me if anyone is looking for a code. I have some unused ones, expiring today, 24 March.

    • you need a code for this deal? I'm at checkout and it allows me without one.

Never mind. I got an error in the shopping cart after entering the paypal details. I really hope they didn't charge me.

    • I have dm'ed you, DaBz. Hopefully you have some codes left!

  • I’d probably nearly stop slutting around with my sims for this deal

  • -1

So does this work? I’m trying to get one and it still getting an error

  • -1

I can input the code and it works for me on shopback BUT it's asking me to port my number or choose new number and activate immediate which I can't (still on 6m plan from Lebara)… :/

  • I get an error at the end of the purchasing process after entering my Paypal details.

  • Amaysim said this is only for new activations.
