^^^ THIS !! This is where McD should take note that they have got too damn expensive lately… and if they were cheaper they could sell more of this sort of thing as a regular addictive indulgence… If they were $2 I'd have never stopped buying them regularly… but I ain't paying full price 1-2 times per week like I used to once upon a time - too frugal… It's just a bit of soft serve and some M&Ms or Oreo chucked in, probably costs them <40c with their buying power… Even if it were $2 with any other purchase over $3 or something so you add it on to whatever else you are getting (a coffee, a burger / meal)…

      • -1

Lol. 40c. Try 4c including labour haha

  • +3

    OMMMGG D:
The worst time to not be in Australia.
    Handsdown best icecream :(

    • +33

it's hardly even icecream, let alone the best! still, if it floats your boat, more power to you!

      • +8

Man, tbh, I like fancy stuff, I really do, but NO other icecream makes me feel the way this one does.
And ikr? - my bf gives me shit for liking this so very often. i'll send him fetching flurries and cones.
its more creamy ice than icecream

        • +24

The more cones, the better McD tastes I guess.

        • +3

They don't even mix it into the soft serve anymore.

          • @zealmax: I like mine clean πŸ˜πŸ™πŸΌ
Well, with a side of large fries 😍

        • @Kundi: M&Ms?

          • @MrFrugalSpend: All the toppings are too sweet for me :(
Even no syrups! Way too sweet for me.

            • +4

@The Milk Man: I'm confused, are you saying you get a McFlurry without any M&Ms or Oreos etc? I'm not sure that's even a McFlurry… just soft serve.
They don't come with syrups, that's a Sundae.

I was with you, but now you've lost me!?

Here is the selection… it appears what you are talking about is a Plain Sundae:

              • +2

@MrFrugalSpend: WELL MCFLURRY IS A CUP BIG ENOUGG TO ACT AS A DUNKING TANK FOR FRIES 😭😭😭
                SO YES
I order it Plain and boneless.

                • +2

@The Milk Man: Oh dear god, you're adulterating a favourite international treat!
I can't hear about it any more!

No, please don't dunk fries in plain McFlurry ice cream… there is a better way to consume your junk food! Like with M&Ms or broken up cookies and a spoon!

  • +4

A Mcflurry has never tasted the same for me after trying a DQ Blizzard when I was in Canada!!

    • +2

Any calorie dense thing in North America is better than here. Tried a sonic shake and you could turn the thing upside down and nothing would fall out. I mean, not that I could stomach having any of it because I needed a drink with my meal and… well that shake is a meal itself.

      • +2

I don't know… latte coffees etc are fairly calorie rich, and they can't make those to save themselves fairly generally across the continent on average

        • +1

Latte coffee are just milk though. I meant the things that are loaded with whipped cream, etc.

    • +2

Ahhh reminiscing of the many Blizzards I had in Canada back in 2017. The good times

    • agree, Coffee Oreo Blizzard is unbeatable.

  • +42

Bring back the stirring machines - not this weak ass half a stir by hand

    • +2

Seriously? I haven’t had one in a while … do they hand stir ?

      • +22

Not anymore it seems… the McFlurries I've had for the last few years all just had the topping dropped on top with no stirring at all…

        • +2

Aint nobody got time for stirring

          • +11

@dajackal: Wasn't the fact it was all stirred in literally why it was called McFlurry to begin with?

            • +4

@swanny246: Yup pretty sure that was the case! Was definitely alot yummier back in the day with ground up oreo pieces mixed in and the ice cream was thicker in consistency

        • +2

So it means they give you less of Oreos or whatever variety you get when they just put it on top. Before it was mixed in and then decorated on the the top too. Cheap!

          • @Whisper Quiet: Yes, cheap but costs more to buy!

          • @Whisper Quiet: Normally they just dump some crushed oreos at the base of the container then dump the ice cream then dump more crushed oreo on top. Can be a struggle to properly mix in the stuff at the bottom by hand. I don't think you get less but it's just harder to make it up as you eat it.

        • If they aren't stiring it anymore isn't it just an overpriced (at regular price) sundae in a different container?
I thought they charged more mainly because of the extra effort in making it (and because it was slightly bigger).

    • +2

      Cyrax Wins. Brutality.

    • +5

You're lucky if you even get a hand stir.
Last one i had was literally a tub with soft serve ice cream and an oreo sprinkled over it.

Basically a larger soft serve in a cup.

I want ma damn Mcflurry stirred godangit.

      • the machine was always better - with TONS of mini M&Ms in it - they used to make them good

  • +4

I heard they don't mix in the toppings anymore. Is that accurate?

    • +5

Nope. They don't bother mixing it anymore, even by hand. Topping just sits on the top.

      • +12

        That was the whole appeal.

        • +6

You could just get some soft serve, then walk into your local supermarket and grab those 12 packs chocolates or a pack of oreos and load your own mcflurries now. Thats probably why the price dropped to $2 anyways. I'd get some flake myself.

          • +18

@ATangk: Yeah you're right, I could just head in to a….. nah, too lazy.

    • Why would you though? Now you have the choice of mixing in the toppings. It's like with coffee, not everyone wants to mix in their chocolate powder sprinkled on top immediately.

  • +2

great for bulking up all those calories before going into hibernation

  • +3

The only thing i'll be marathoning after one of these is a whole tv series while crashed on the couch.

  • +5

it's just a sad little cup of something pretending to be ice cream with some random crumbs thrown on top. bah humbug!

  • +2

never understood why it's so pricey in Aus. Was 90 pence when we visited Scotland.

    • +7

      That's like ten Australian pesos

    • +3

was always 99p in the uk

  • +27

This is the price it should be permanently. Full price is a joke.

    • and yet i still cant resist….

  • +3

    Bring back the nerds flavour!!!

  • +9

It includes the all new Cookie Time McFlurry!

    • +1

It’s pretty good but the apple pie McFlurry was/is still the best.

      • +1

Eating the Cookie Time one right now and it's pretty good! The apple pie on the other hand was easily the worst one for me..

  • +1

    Since when were McFlurries $4?!

    • varies according to location

      • +5

My local is usually $5.50 :(

  • +1

    $2 in any delivery apps?

    • Wouldn't it be melted by the time you receive it?

      • Nar. Maccas always gets delivered quickly and apps are doing a lot of free maccas deliveries lately.

  • +2

Good ol days when they were $1.40. Now days even the plain soft serve are $0.80 each.

    • Pitchforks at the ready!

    • Soft serves are 75 cents at my local, was quite put out when they went up 5 cents but a whole 10 cents is outrageous behaviour!

  • +2

If you can find one with a working ice cream machine :D lol.

  • +3

these will have you running a full marathon before breakfast with all the energy you'll get

These will have you looking like a cross between Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell with all the bed sores you'll get after your flab becomes woven into the fabric of your lounge suite.

  • +15

I know this won't be a popular comment but do you yourself a favour and drink water instead. And if you need something sweet eat some fruit. Even if it's free this is still super unhealthy.

    • +15

      Yes Daddy.

    • -3

You are going to get downvotes. Snowflakes and soyboys on this site takes your advice as a personal attack.

      McFlurry M&Ms ingredients:
Ice cream:Milk, Sugar, Cream, Water, Maltodextrin (Maize, Tapioca), Dextrose (Maize), Milk Solids, Vegetable Gums (412, 407, 466, 407a), Emulsifiers (471, 433), Flavour, Mineral Salt (339), Food Acids (330, 331)

M&M:s: Milk Chocolate (Sugar, Milk Solids, Cocoa Mass, Cocoa Butter, Vegetable Fat, Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Salt, Flavour), Sugar, Starch (Wheat), Glucose Syrup (Wheat), Colours (171, 133, 129, 110, 102), Vegetable Gum (414), Thickener (Dextrin), Glazing

52g of sugar per serving. Compare that to the 4gram of sugar that is your bloodstream. Not recommended for pre-diabetics, diabetics and health conciouss people.

Buy yoghurt and put fruit innit. Same same, but different.

      • -2

Soyboys and snowflakes….what the hell??? sounds like try hard wannabe poxy american slang talk to me

      • -2

Take a moment to do the same sugar percentage for fruit.

        • -2

I did say same same, but different. Difference is there is 2 ingridients compared to a chemistry books,

Anyways for shitz and giggel, i did quick check on my fitnesspal. Take the figures as a rough estimate:

50g sugar in a mcflurry equals

          500g Apple granny smith
          600g Orange
          800g Watermelon

@kiwibro, I know you are one of the good guys, but soyboy is not a slang. Unfortunatly it is an actual thing.

          • +1

@Edog: An apple contains around 20g of sugar, which is 5 teaspoons.

I'll agree that 2.5 apples is going to make a person a lot fuller and healthier than a McFlurry. That's not why I would eat a McFlurry though.

    • +7

Not everyone has poor discipline to the point where you need to actively avoid unhealthy food. Ice cream (or soft serve I suppose) is fine in moderation.

    • +4

No kidding? Ice cream is unhealthy?

    • +1

      Did someone say KFC…?

    • McFlurry isn't a drink.

  • +1

That is a decent deal. I feel certain that I saw an ad for the Loose Change menu a couple of days ago that said they were $4 though.

    • +1

      same

      • Must have been a mistake. I saw it and wondered why a $4 McFlurry was on the Loose Change Menu!

  • +4

$2 should be standard price. Unless I get an offer for $2 on the app, usually I just get a lid with Oreos which costs $1.40.

  • +1

So good! Thanks OP, just ordered Cookie McFlurry
    $4.90 (Canberra price) β€”> $2
    πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

  • Nom Nom Nom Nom!!

  • Good deal, great deal to be honest.
but sorry I have realised that true bargain is not buying it, for the poor nutrition in it.

If I hadn't gone on the dieting would have surely bought it. But one day you'll realise how much bargain it is to not buy sugars, and refined carbs, not only one saves money but health too.

    • Where’s your upvote for the good/great deal?

    • OMG you're like one of those non smokers to smokers

    • English only plz fatty.

  • +2

but guess what - THE ICE CREAM MACHINE IS NOT WORKING TODAY !!!!!!!!!

    • Reeeelax you got til April 20

  • Just letting everyone know that this is from 10:30 am to 12 midnight. Not avaliable during breakfast for that price. OP can you add that to the main post.

    • Dang! There goes my breaky plans.

      • +1

yeah. People have been asking for 4 dollar happy meals in the morning and had to be disappointed.

  • never understood why it's so pricey in Aus.

    • We had 30c cones. Only fairly recently have cones been a bit ridiculous in pricing. When mcflurries came out they were overpriced. Maybe it's balance in nature

  • After so many years of pathetic pricing and not even anything special about it like the machine, and now even barely a handstir from the above comments, even $2 isn't going to change my mind anymore. Like I've moved on lol. If I do crave their soft serve taste I just wait for those deals like $1 or $2 app sundaes where you get a decent amount of it.

  • Very fitting that the final day this is available is on 420.

  • +3

I miss the days when it was stirred by a machine and actually can be called a Mcflurry. Now it’s jusy a Mctopping
