Do these work well? I'm sick of ironing but don't really have a lot of space for another thing..

    • I was looking at the Tefal IXEO as I have to constantly iron - literal bane of my existence.

There are so many mixed reviews, I can not come to conclusion if it's right for me or not.

I have to wear a suit at work, and so as you can imagine, ironing is a necessity and also a pain in the ass. I just need a solution that covers all the bases and reduces time.

I have cheaper one from big W so maybe not as good but don't get the iron out much anymore. They're not super awesome, especially with creases or pleats and anything with set in crumples like cotton or linen that's been through the dryer but good enough for most things. My daughter does iron her pleated school skirts by holding a bit of tension on and brushing over our pressing them lightly against the wall. Also if I go over something that still looks crumpled, I flip and do the reverse side, and then come back to it and it will have settled even more by then. You really need somewhere to hang the garment while it's being pressed, think I will have to invent a wall iron board with a hook at the top

      • I'll take eight!

      • Thanks folks, I'll pass. I mainly iron linen as I'm in qld.

        • I've actually heard they are recommended for linen, rather than pressing the fibres flat with an iron. Supposed to help with creasing but I wouldn't say mine don't cease. You also won't get the same smooth ironed look. Works fine if you flick and hang straight from the wash and can steam when still a little damp too. I still use mine in preference to ironing but just saying they're not perfect (and mine is a cheaper big W one, not this one)

      Short answer: not really
      Longer answer: sort of

If you can only have 1 device (ie an iron or this) - get the iron every day.
Portable steamers are useless for pants or business shirts or anything with a defined crease

I bought one and I found it really useful for the wife's dresses (this is not a joke - I actually do all of our ironing), for refreshing winter coats/woollens, and for T shirts. It is really useful for annoying fabrics like silk where you iron one patch and put 50 creases in another at the same time.

If this one breaks, would I buy another? Hmmmmmmmmmmm

The DT9100 is cheaper and pictured from the inverse perspective.

    • HAHAHA

    • Yes, cheaper by $10 but need to wait for about 2 weeks delivery window.
DT9100 sold by Amazon is not with AU adaptor, as it it posted from UK.

  • whats the difference between the DT9100 and DT9120

DT9120 is a newer model I reckon, but the specs all look the same. Even the colour is the same

      • Thanks Michael
