        • HDMI 2.1 is not going to help. Monitors which will implement HDMI 2.1 will most likely be 4K high refresh rate. They will not be cheap.

PS5 low cost monitor, you are looking at S2721QS or S2721Q when heavily discounted. However, if for some reason you really want to go 2K high refresh rate, you need to get one of those monitors that perform 4K downsampling to 2K.

          • @netsurfer: I have done a fair bit more digging now and thinking of going a different approach. The LG OLED TV's are basically big monitors. So I can get a 55 inch one and then basically redo my whole office setup to work off it and maybe one other monitor. Obviously not cheap but considering my work revolves around it, I can justify it somewhat, no rush, may wait for the mid-year sales and get a good deal on an LG CX or something :D

            • @[Deactivated]: I'd really want to try it before paying that much for a nice OLED. Sitting right in front of at 55 inch screen just sees wrong hah

              • @Merlict: Yeah I’ve done a bit more digging. Apparently works well if you are the right distance. So definitely need to make sure you can sit far enough back from it otherwise you’ll get a nice headache. But in terms of serving as a monitor… really positive reviews thus far. Lot of people also opt for the 48 inch version also for this reason.

                • @[Deactivated]: I do hope that technology trickles down to smaller sizes, because people seem to love the 48 CX

                  • @Merlict: LG seems to do it the best for now. They have set the bar. Others will follow.

  • +1

That 38" is a sweet deal. Unfortunately thats still expensive for a monitor for me and I cant upgrade my GPU anway. Will wait.

  • +2

I suspect that these record low deals on S2721DGF are because Dell is launching their -22 lineup soonish (in a few months probably), though anyhow this is still an incredible deal for this monitor

    • +2

      and strong AUD

omg,i waste 2 dollars just pass one week(i got two)

  • Are we going to see any promos for the Alienware 27aw2721D?

  • +3

Thanks, bought a second S2721DS after buying one during the LOVEKEANU deal a month or two back. Very happy with the quality of the screen and the awesome stand.

EDIT: I just cancelled my order for the S2721DS and bought a S2721DGF instead

  • +2

    I have already purchased 4 Dell monitors since Nov last year. S2721HN, S2721D and 2 x S2721DGF

  • +2

Thanks OP! I got one of the S3221QS. Was thinking about a new monitor for ages (currently using a 10 year old, 21" ASUS). Fairly sure this will be a massive step up!

    • +1

Welcome to the new age, good buy!

    S2721DGF….OzB’s favourite monitor…

After buying 2 from the $399 deal, I bought a 3rd today for the wife…couldn’t quite convince the wife that she needs dual screens…or else it would have been a 4th one as well.

For those who want a comparison between the 3 27”monitors being offered:

    https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/91fc14f5…

    • Is there any drawback to having 2x 32"dgfs, besides space and extra cost? I originally replaced 2x24" with 1x32" curved but miss the productivity of dual screens so obviously need two. As I'm setting up a proper desk I got another one (unopened). Guess can sit bit further back and good for games, bit higher res would be handy for real estate but native 4k probably still quite small on that size screen. Should be plenty of screen space with two, just one software I use has a heap of pesky pop up boxes that are usually in the way, constantly moving, closing and resizing the pricks.

Actually the s3220dgf are curved and perhaps more premium?

  • +1

First person to message me will get my $25 coupon. You're welcome! I love my dual s2721dgf!

    • How do you find working on dual 27? I had a vertical/horizontal dual setup, but always found an issue with the secondary at 27 too big

      • +1

Love it. I sit a distance away from it and find it comfortable. Used to have 3x24", 2x27s is nice

    • Hi Discoaus, how did you get a $25 coupon?

      • +1

You get them by purchasing items through Dell.

  • Is it possible to use 3 x 4K monitors in the same setup? Would you need a video card that has 3 outputs - does such a beast exist?

    • It's possible, even the 1080ti can support 3 x 4k monitors although it only gains 11 fps during gaming. Perhaps the 3080/3090 would support 3 x 4k monitors for gaming rather well, but I haven't looked into benchmarks for those cards.

  • Awesome deals. If there was a 30”+ IPS panel I’d snap up 2 or 3 of them in an instant.

  • Hi LiMaaa,

Friend bought this on the black friday ebay sale last year.

Few days ago the monitor is no longer working. Tried different cables, obviously turning on and off, unplugging replugging etc, basically everything.

The computer detects the monitor but the panel itself does not turn on/show display, OSD doesn't show, just a plain black. Monitor light will blink, occasionally stay on but display itself does nothing but stay black.

What's the best way to go about RMAing or getting it fixed? Is there a phone number to call or anything? Any idea on the process bar just following the https://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/en-au/contactu… process?

Thanks, have this monitor myself and a few others picked it up on the various deals but unfortunately this one is having issues.

    • +3

Yep, just put in the service tag of the product (it should be at the back of the screen, also on the invoice sent via email on delivery day)

If you want to call someone, you'll need to wait until daylight hours as consumer class product support phones aren't manned 24 x 7

Describe troubleshooting steps and issue experienced, and they'll go on from there.

    1) Can I purchase with gift card ? The moment I add this option it says I can only apply one coupon code ? WTH coupon code and gift vouchers should be different?
    2) 2 weeks shipping is a long time can I get this in NSW CBD sooner ?
    3) do you ship to Australia parcel collect address ?

    • +3

      1) Can I purchase with gift card ? The moment I add this option it says I can only apply one coupon code ? WTH coupon code and gift vouchers should be different?

Yes, there is a hard limit of 8 eBay gift cards when combined used with eBay sale codes
There is one exception on this and its the eBay plus joining bonus voucher or those random $5 for this month vouchers, that appear to not allow stacking with any gift cards/sale coupons.
Also if you're using some Afterpay code (I don't believe this sale is), then it becomes reduced to 7 eBay gift cards.

      2) 2 weeks shipping is a long time can I get this in NSW CBD sooner ?

LiMaaa does not work for Dell, as per my comment here, delivery timeframe is dependent on stock levels, but if LiMaaa says delivery within two weeks, it means there is stock pre-allocated to this sale already
      3) do you ship to Australia parcel collect address ?

Dell uses DB schenker as its logistics partner
From personal experience, in Sydney they use StarTrack as their delivery partner, so on a technical level, it should be able to get to an Australia Post Parcel Collect address, however, the system may reject it (because it's not directly via StarTrack/AusPost) which would cause delays

For your information I just measured a S2721DS box (I have one new in box with me for a friend)
Dimensions of the box is as follows, if you intend to get it delivered to a parcel locker (assuming the system even accepts it) then you need to leave some clearance for the box to go inside a parcel locker.:

      82.5cm x 44.5cm x 15.7cm

Personally I always get it delivered to a business address with a receptionist to ensure no packages go walkabout.

Disclosure: I work for Dell EMC not Dell, and definitely am not an official Dell store rep, so I can't help anyone in an official capacity either (sort of like working for Big W but commenting on Woolworths posts)

      • Thanks a lot. The parcel collect with Australia post is where they accept the item and hold it for me not the auspost locker service.
I know Australia lost do not accept packages from few delivery organisations like Toll.
Can someone please confirm this ?
If they ship this item to my apartment and I’m not home can I pick it up from their depot? If they just leave it out there someone in my apartment will steal it. Lots of packages got missing in the past before.

        • +2

If it's Sydney, it'll be StarTrack as the delivery partner, but if there is no one home to collect, it might get rescheduled for redelivery

    • Cwong answered most of your questions, but just to simplify.

Generally these won't ship to a parcel locker as they exceed the general parcel locker dimensions.

The courier doesn't have authority to leave so if you aren't home to collect it will be taken to the couriers depot (usually startrack) in which case you can pick it up from the depot or organise redelivery.

  • I have a 27” screen , and wanted to upgrade to a bigger widescreen monitor. Maybe 34”?

    I see there is a 32” screen on special , no 34” units ?

  • Can anyone tell me if a 27" 1440p screen is worth it with an Nvidia GTX 1650 Super? Does it look ok setting the screen res to 1080p or lower if trying to reach 75Hz?

    Thanks

    • +1

1650s should handle something like the S2721D @ 75hz fine. Obviously it's dependant on the use you have, games you want to play. There is a good reddit post if you google '1650 super 1440p' which shows benchmarks and shows the 1650s is viable in running that display on a multitude of games.

  • A quick question.
Can Dell Optiplex 9020 USFF integrated graphics handle 144hz on S2721DGF?

    • +1

I think you would want a dedicated gpu if you're looking at hitting 144hz comfortably on triple a titles.

  • Hi I pulled the trigger after lots of thinking and thank you for your support team.
Now the delivery states may 1st week. I need it urgently. When are people getting them in reality in Sydney region?

You'll need to check this ozbargain post to see when people start receiving their monitors..
Once you have a Dell order number, you can chuck the details into here to track

      https://www.dell.com/support/order-status/en-au/order-suppor…
      https://dellpleportal.dbschenker.com.au/ETA/ETAquery

For Dell Outlet orders you can chuck the order number into StarTrack's Track and Trace, you can try it for normal orders too I suppose

        • Did anyone here got an order number yet ? I really hope 2 weeks ETA as posted by the sales rep works out for me !

It doesn't get generated instantly, takes about a day or two even for orders direct with the Dell website

          • @cwongtech: Thank you !! You are the champ. I can’t wait to get the monitor. Now in terms of warranty or any damage during the shipping what would be the process to follow ?

            • @justanick:

Now in terms of warranty or any damage during the shipping what would be the process to follow ?

Raise a support request, or in this case, since you bought via eBay, raise it through eBay (since InDemand handles Dell's eBay channel)

The monitors are packed very well and tightly though, (apart from the weak box lid mechanism).
Aside from the entire monitor falling out of the box, there should be no way it can get damaged unless the box gets dropped by the courier.

    • Cwong has answered most of your questions, but in regards to eta. These aren't built on purchase, they are stock that is already local. 2 weeks is the expected eta including processing and shipping. I can't imagine you'd receive it later than that. :)

  • Anyone know why the shipping times are super delayed at the moment?

    Est. delivery: 3 – 10 May

I can only imagine it's cause I live in Brisbane :(

    • +2

Anyone know why the shipping times are super delayed at the moment?

      Traffic jam at Suez Canal

Jokes aside, that's probably just due to listing it on eBay and posting an extremely conservative delivery date, if the sale has pre-allocated local stock (implied by LiMaaa), then the ETA of within two weeks should be very accurate.

Disclosure: I work for Dell EMC not Dell, and definitely am not an official Dell store rep, so I can't help anyone in an official capacity either (sort of like working for Big W but commenting on Woolworths posts)

    • Cwong is correct, it's local stock.

  • Ok fine you win I got 2x S2721DGF. I think it's time I hand down my 2x U2410s to my olds.

    • +1

I think with that upgrade, you also won. ;)

    • Order arrived yesterday, 7th. Super fast delivery, given I was expecting up to 2 weeks! It was a fantastic surprise :)

monitors are great, 165Hz is sexy smooth.

    • Need three, or you're looking at the bezel where you are driving lol. Not actually a gamer but productivity they are still great The DGF

Mine arrived to my house in Metropolitan Brisbane within 5 business days of me ordering if it helps.

    • This is such a good news ! Did eBay seller or dell give you a tracking number? I’m sending mine to the local post office and would like to track the package.

      • +1

Was Dell's actual website. But I assume all these things come from the same warehouse. Mine was StarTrack from Sydney, two business days once it was consigned to the carrier.

        • So after placing the order someone from eBay emails you the tracking number ?
All I got is the generic order process

          • @justanick:

So after placing the order someone from eBay emails you the tracking number ? - justanick

It appears Jamesfromoz purchased directly from the Dell AU website, not via eBay.

Order processing is one thing, getting an order number is another, try contact the Dell AU eBay store account to see if they can provide an order number for you to track on the Dell Australia's order tracking portals

Dell order numbers normally start with 87xXxXxXx and are 9 digits, do you have one?

Disclosure: I work for Dell EMC not Dell, and definitely am not an official Dell store rep, so I can't help anyone in an official capacity either (sort of like working for Big W but commenting on Woolworths posts)

          • +2

@justanick: There's really no need to inundate the ebay team requesting tracking numbers. Orders can sometimes take up to 5 days to process once an order is placed. You'll likely receive a tracking number emailed to you when your order ships. If you don't receive one within a week you can contact me for assistance or contact the ebay team to follow up.

            • +1

@LiMaaa: Exactly, patience people! Of the 5 days, 3 was processing the order with Dell and nothing progressing and 2 days with StarTrack.

  • I got few silly questions
There’s two HDMI port what can I use the ports for ? There’s another port is that for USB meaning I can charge my mobile phone with it ?

Since it’s a bigger screen how can I do split screens example two spread sheets or msword and PowerPoint and work simultaneously?

    • +2

I'm guessing you're referring to a monitor? You can plug multiple devices into it and then switch to the device you want on the screen. For example, a desktop and a laptop.

Yes, USB is USB… you can plug whatever USB compatible device into it. So yes, your charging cable will work.

Finally, if you use Windows 10, you can use the Windows + Arrow Keys to move the programs around and snap them left, right, and into any of the four quadrants by using the up and down arrows.

All of these questions you can find if you do a bit of research online.

      • +1

        Good and clear answer.

Justanick, we're unsure what monitor you purchased, but if you'd like an in depth look into its features, google the model + rtings review. Example: 'S2721DGF rtings review'. It's a good read and shows off all the features your monitor has to offer, as well as covering features and settings for when yours arrives. :)

  • Can someone comment on whether it's worth additional $30 on S2721DS over S2721D, just for adjustable stand? Considering no other difference between two. Once fixed you may move the monitor up and down bit and I don't think I will ever turn it to vertical position Thank you

    • Just to clarify, the S2721D only has tilt option. (up and down). The S2721DS has Height adjustment, Tilt, Pivot and Swivel. Which is suitable for you is entirely up to you. If you need the adjustment options it's worth it as it's only $30 more and any monitor mount would cost you the same.

      • the eBay links have great visuals on this as well

    • +3

@Boogi, if you plan to get a dual monitor stand or arm, then I would suggest getting the D over the DS and save a little bit of money since you won't need the stand.

Alternatively, if you are planning to use a dual monitor stand/arm, you could get the DS and offer to sell the stands to help a fellow OzBargainer who got the D but now wants the DS features :)

Do we get an invoice copy for the purchase emailed to us? Needed this as part of a claim. Thanks.

Thanks, any idea how long it normally takes to get emailed? I had made the purchase two days ago.

If you bought from Dell AU website, it gets sent to your email on the day it's onboard for delivery.. so, unfortunately you just have to be patient for the invoice, you will get it eventually.
Not quite sure if it's the same for Dell eBay orders or how it gets generated.

Thanks op, just bought the S2721DGF absolute steal at $398 based on all the reviews I’ve seen.

    • I could have just got two of those if I knew of the up getting two, instead of the 32"

  • I got a message from Dell eBay my address Australia post parcel collect they can’t deliver the package so I wrote them back with my home address. I don’t know if they will update their records on time.

      Thanks for sharing your experience

Think about it this way, it's good news, it means Dell eBay intend to send the monitor out to you soon.. thus the delivery address showed up as invalid
If it was a rejected delivery, it would take around a week for them to attempt to redeliver.

The order is still showing may 2nd delivery date :(

Don't worry about this, if the sale has stock allocated for it, you can disregard it.

      • Thanks mate. My new concerns:
        1) after sending them a reply I don’t know who or when they will update my address and give me a tracking number ?
        2) no where it mentions about Australia post parcel will not work. I work from home but at times I have to go to work or meet occasionally if I’m not home are they going to take the package and re-deliver when they wish?
        3) if Dell sends me a tracking number and I miss the delivery can I call Star track to keep this in their depo for me to collect or give them a date and time to deliver ?

I’m getting worked now that I responded to them they may or may not reply. At the footnote of the email it states “this mail box is not monitored” WTH how else are we going to reply to Dell Australia

        • 1) after sending them a reply I don’t know who or when they will update my address and give me a tracking number ?

Tracking number is normally not given.. until it's being dispatched from the warehouse.
I'm not sure how the eBay orders get processed on the Dell side

          2) no where it mentions about Australia post parcel will not work. I work from home but at times I have to go to work or meet occasionally if I’m not home are they going to take the package and re-deliver when they wish?

No, you can call startrack and ask them to redeliver as long as it's not a rejected delivery (someone at your address says Return-To-Sender)

I’m getting worked now that I responded to them they may or may not reply. At the footnote of the email it states “this mail box is not monitored” WTH how else are we going to reply to Dell Australia

Did you reply to an eBay message or an email address with @dell.com at the end?
Also, they can't send a monitor to an invalid address, so don't worry.. your monitor is not going into a blackhole..

I replied back to the email and it arrived after 10pm last night assuming someone from overseas is managing the tracker. No one responded back to me or not sure they ever will until I get the monitor or something goes wrong.
Is there a way to call Dell eBay Australia ?
eBay is bad hence I shop from Amazon at least they reply

Seems like S2721DGF has now been relisted here with a 5 year warrranty (rather than 3 here) at $447.20 for anyone following. Seems to be on back-order with delivery of about 35 days or so.

    • Good find mate!

Looks like they sent me the order confirmation with the 87….. order code this morning.

    Estimated arrival by the 9th.

  • Can anyone please recommend a cheap graphics card for running a pair of S2721D 1440p @ 75 Hz? My desktop is an old but perfectly functional HP z220. I'm considering purchasing a 2 of these but realise that these monitors only have 1 Display Port and 2 HDMI. My current card (an old NVS Quadro 600) has 1 DP and 1 Dual link DVI. I dont think it can run 75hz. Thanks

EDIT: No gaming, only desktop WFH use.

  • Anyone know a quick/good way to calibrate the monitors? My second dell (s3220dgf) is more yellow that white compared to the other.
I was stuffing around with various nvidia control panel settings and the 8bit/10bit windows stuff, just think should reset both and start again.
eitherway seems bit different out of the box.

    • If there's an rtings review of the monitor, it'll have an icc profile attached + mention some settings.

      Use then adjust for taste.

Obviously without a colorimeter you won't get accurate results, but it'll probably be closer than the monitor was at stock?

      • yeah I referred to that and the Reddit/Tomshardware articles and this time made the adjustments on the monitor itself.
Previously I was changing the settings in nVidia control panel, not sure what's easier (harder). I tend not to allow any driver updates though nVidia experience as it can create problems and those game ready updates are too often (like that pesky flickering is back when you move the mouse, bloody windows)

Those Sypder pro's still aren't that cheap so it's probably close enough for now, cheers.

Can I stack on eBay giftcards with this deal?

    • Yes.

  • Wow this looks great!
Do you think the S3221QS is a good monitor for someone who is:
    - wants to move from 27 inch to 32'
    - not bothered about refresh rates but,
    - wants to try 4K for movies (some Blu-ray),
    - plays PS4/5,
    - uses PC for web browsing and playing some older PC games (Age of Empires, Command and Conquer etc) ?

Please excuse my ignorance, I'm not so good with technology.
    Thank you in advance!

Yeh, it's a completely viable option.
