I was a bit bummed at not jumping on the ~1523$ RTX 3060 laptop deal I posted, but looks like the 2070 Max-P is roughly on par with desktop RTX 3060 (~3-5% difference) which seems worth the extar ~$177

  • I was hoping the 27" QS versions of either the 2K or 4K monitor would be back in stock….unfortunately the answer is no

    Great price for S2721Q — I paid $331 in Oct 2021

It is very sharp under 1080P and 1440P, so no worries for NOT running it under 4K

      Back to the future.

      • Sorry, was meant to say Oct 2020 :)

    • I paid $329 a couple of months ago and liked it so much bought another one a couple of weeks ago. Damn.

  • I grabbed a 32” 4K 2 weeks ago. And just notified I won’t be receiving until 9th April. I’m assuming they still soldering the panels in 😂😂😂

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Alienware-34-inch-AW3420DW-Curve…

    • Very good price and same as the last deal. There were only 2 in stock and it's sold out. I got the notification early enough but already pulled the trigger on the 38 inch last week.

  • +3

OMG …. $289 4K UHD … I brought two in Jan for my office and the color was great!

    • Um… Colours are okay (but I wouldn't say great). For HDR, it is subpar as most, if not all HDR400 monitors. In some games, I'd rather use SDR with this monitor.

Good value, but no HDMI 2.1 (I know that's wishful thinking). The VRR / FreeSync support is only implemented correctly on DisplayPort.

Ugh, Dell 32inch curved seems to be always on sale. Just bought from the last sale for around $430, thought it was a good price. Good monitor and speaker though.

        • Ah it could be! I haven’t tried it with Dell eBay.

  • Thank you op. ordered S2721Q $289 for missus.

Do you guys think the 4k has any benefit for working from home setting.
No games at all just office applications and coding.

Or would you be chosing 24” (1080) monitor here or 27” one (4k) for your wfh setting?

    Thanks

    • +1

Working from home if no gaming i will go with 2 of the 24” (1080), if you are considering just a single monitor then the 27” one (4k) is a good option with a bit more screen space for multi tasking.

    • +3

My WFH setup is a 32" in and next to it is a 24" in portrait. I find it easy to drag documents across to read emails, pdf and word docs on the 24" monitor (becuase it covers the one whole page, no scrolling required) while I work with spreadsheets on the 32" monitor. That's just my preference.

      • Just wondering whether your’re having any issues when moving mouse cursor from the edges of the portrait 24” towards the 32” one?

Even with the same size dual monitor setup, sometimes the mouse cursor sticks around the edges for me.

        Thanks

        • +2

You just have to get used to where the crossover zones are. Yes, you will get stuck in corners, but the versatility of having a portrait screen far outweighs any slight inconvenience of getting the cursor stuck! :)

I have 34" ultrawide (landscape) main and 32" 4K (rotate between portrait and landscape) as secondary to the side.

    • +1

Fwi from someone not too tech savvy, my previous 1440p and current 4k don't look great running my work programs, which are probably stuck at 1080p. Not really sure why. Maybe there is a solution.

  • S2721Q - Great price! I also paid $331 back in October for this and don't regret it. I work on it, game on it, watch movies on it and has been great so far. It has a little bit of noticeable light bleed when viewing off axis, but other than that no complaints.

  • Dell Ultrawide's are never on special?

    • They are, but not discount to this level.

      • Could you point my in the right direction? There doesn't seem to be any UWs on their eBay page

  • +1

What’s peoples thoughts on using the Dell S2721Q as a second monitor, paired with the s2721DGF. And can the the S2721Q be mounted or tilted vertically?

    • Not really a good idea, even if you use Display Scaling. You can do it if you really want to, but not idle. Also, the two monitors are not tuned to colour match so you need to tune them to match. Generally, people go for S2721D as a low cost option to setup dual monitors with DGF (same resolution, 2K).

S2721Q - it doesn't come with a height adjustable stand. However, if you have a VESA mount stand that supports rotating the monitor, then yes. QS has a VESA stand, but Dell knows most people prefer QS and QS generally aren't discounted as heavily as Q.

      • Thanks for the detailed reply man, clears a few things up. So are you suggesting a better option as for a secondary monitor is to get the same as your primary monitor?
        Thanks

        • That's the most idle setup. However, for laptops, we often run into the situation where the laptop screen resolution is different to the external monitor resolution. The main difference is generally laptop and the external monitor aren't side by side. When two monitors are side by side, you can spot the difference easily… so it depends on whether you are okay with that or not.

If you were thinking about having one monitor mounted vertically, then it is likely less of an issue that the two monitors aren't the same model.

        • +1

If you are gaming on one and using the second one for dual monitors in productivity use, you could just grab a cheaper 27" 1440p (ie. S2721D/S2721DS - you want DS for rotating to portrait, or get the D and just put it on a monitor arm like this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/613624)

Alternatively, if you don't care about matching the size of the monitors, you could consider S3221QS, so you have the flexibility of a larger 4K monitor (for productivity use or console gaming perhaps), and the DGF for high refresh rate PC gaming. The reason I suggest the 32" is because 4K at 32" you are less likely to need scaling, so you can use the full resolution for desktop real-estate. If you get 27" 4K, you will almost certainly need to use 125% or 150% scaling (and thus lose the desktop real-estate benefit of 4K). Your monitors won't line up or have text at the same size (unless you use scaling), but I personally prefer an asymmetric setup like this for the flexibility (I have 34" ultrawide main, and S3221QS as my side monitor switching between portrait and landscape as needed).

But if you want to be a high refresh rate baller / perfect colour match the screens, then just grab a second DGF!

  • Can someone comment if this would be okay for just invoicing and general accounts stuff and nothing else.

    New Dell Inspiron 24 5400 All-in-One 11th Gen i3-1115G4 256GB SSD 8GB

    • It'll work, but I suggest to head to office works or somewhere that has a display unit.
I found the screen 27' version to be quite grainy and ended up returning it. But 24' may be okay.

  • Impressions from those who have the 3221QS?

    • The curve takes time to get used to

    • I've got the S3221QS on my PS5 - it's good for a large 4k monitor, I sit close so no issues with viewing angles.

My old desk monitor has started to flicker, so I'm now deciding between an S2721 (IPS) or another S3221…

  • Can anyone plz comment on s322. I am new to pc build and trying to get 4k monitor. Will this be ok for average gaming and university stuffs??

    Thx ozbargainers

    • +1

      Definitely.

  • Checkout delivery estimate is by May 7th …. hopefully they'll be able to dispatch it sooner than that.

  • Anyone had purchase in similar 20% before with Dell, may I know the tax invoice will show the full price or showing the amount that's after the 20% discount?
    Thank you.

    • My Black Friday purchase of Q2721QS showed full (ie non discounted) value on the invoice from Dell

  • When does the deal go live?

  • Just ordered the 32" 4k curved screen for work - will be ideal. I ummed and ahhed about it at $413 last week, glad I did…

  • I am thinking to pull the string for dell g7, i am little confused between two models the one with 1tb ssd and the other with 512 g ssd and rtx 2070. Can someone please help decide which one i should go for. I read that for processing power rtx2070 is better than rtx 2060. Thank you for kind comments.

    • I have the same query, can anyone provide an answer?

    • The RTX2070 outperforms the 2060. You are better off getting the 2070 because you can upgrade the storage later on when you need it. You cannot upgrade the graphics.

  • What would be a good monitor for productivity eg email, word processing spreadsheets multiple browers windows open etc

  • If delivery was sooner I would have bought… can't wait until late April/early May :(

  • Does price guarantee apply to us who bought 2 weeks ago at $417?

    • Dell do not price match their own ebay store

      • Price guarantee not price match. But anyway their terms state that it has to be on dell.com.au so I guess not.

  • Does anyone know if the 27inch (S2721Q) would work as a second monitor with an iMac. I noticed this model doesn't have USB-C but wondering if the HDMI would work just as well. Thanks

    • Sure will! I use mine with a MacBook Pro. No issues! :)

  • Anyone have the Alienware AW2521HFL? Size and 1080p is fine for me. Is it real gsync or just gsync compatible?

  • I typed in the code @ checkout, but I get the message "This code can't be applied to your order." Anyone know the reason/workaround?

    • Please see the most recent addition to the Wiki here to resolve this issue. It comes down to an issue with the creation of your account and a requirement to transfer the properties to eBay AU.

  • Considering an upgrade from my 5 year old Toshiba Satellite P70 17.3" 1920x1080 with i7-4900MQ 2.8GHz > 3.8GHz (4 cores/8 threads)

I use it as a desktop replacement, a little video capturing/converting, some office files but mainly for emails and web browsing.

Is the Dell G7 17 Gaming Laptop an overkill, I don't do gaming, just like a fast laptop with performance i required. It does seem a very good price.

    Cheerz :) :D ;)

  • Anyone received their delivery of the monitor purchased here?

    • I purchased 30/03 and nothing yet - no order # from Dell either

  • Ordered S2721q. Showing expect delivery date is 14/5.

    • Likewise - mine shows expected delivery 05/05-13/05

      • My order S2721q was shipped today.

        • When did you make the order?

          • @freeman: 29/3

            • @Unacceptable: It’s delivered just now!

              • @Unacceptable: Great!it seems many orders between yours and mine, that made my order can be dispatched 1 month later!

              • @Unacceptable: Damn! Congrats - mine was only a day later so hopefully mine will ship soon…

Let us know what you think of the monitor once you’ve got it unboxed and used it for a bit :)

                • @jackary: Both @jackary & @freeman, don’t worry about any potential delay. It may not be delayed at all so be positive. 👍

I bought this for my missus who is currently stuck in overseas trip and so I’ll not open the box until she returns.

                  • @Unacceptable: Received my email from Dell this afternoon - estimated to ship tomorrow, estimated arrival 16/04 - yippee! If they use StarTrack and ship tomorrow, I’ll receive it will and truly before the 16th (Metro Brisbane) - props to dell for shipping well before their quoted date

Wishing you and your partner luck getting back into Aus soon. Take care :)

                    • @jackary: Just replying to myself in case anyone comes back and checks this thread - order shipped via StarTrack this morning - ETA is Monday. Thanks dell!

                      • @jackary: I haven't received update information regarding my order.
Can you please let us know when you ordered?

  • Ordered the S32 on the 29th, shipping date revised to be delayed until 07/04 then ended up being shipped this morning. expected delivery date was 14/04 now crossed out.

  • New to OzBargain and my first time order and owning a Dell monitor.
I ordered the S3221QS on 8/4 and received it on 14/4.
I opened and first used the monitor on 15/4 however there is a black vertical line from the top of the monitor to the bottom before the first half of the monitor. I changed the refresh rate and resolution but no use. I changed to another monitor and there is no line. I connected the Dell monitor to another PC and the line persists. Quite disappointed actually, as I was looking forward to using the monitor.
    1. Has anybody experienced this?
    2. What's the likelihood that Dell eBay will replace with a new monitor?
