  • Thanks OP logged into my account and I have this offer

    I have this offer but don't see the value in it.

      You don't see the value in 10,000 Qantas points? why are you even here?

      • Pfft. I churn credit cards.

        So my understanding is that you just get someone else in your family to just open an additional card under your name, and no matter how little they spend, you pocket 10K points.

          Be careful @adrianhughes1998, churning credit cards affects your credit score. Mainly impacts bank loans such as mortgages but can be used for things from mobile phone accounts to utility accounts.

          Good luck!

        • Never tried it myself, but I seem to recall a claim on another forum that you can just make up any name for additional cards (they don't verify). For example someone claimed to have opened one under the name "Spare Card".

          Albeit that was at least a few years ago, so it may not be the case now.

          • @UrMumsOnlyFan: Yes, I did this couple of years ago. Usefull to get another version of your name if ID's are checked for some AMEX deals. Eg. initial.

            @UrMumsOnlyFan: They will ask for additional card holders ID.
            At least it happened to me.

            • @cheersvb: Not for me. I opened a supplementary card using my initial and surname. I do have seven years of history and three accounts with Amex though if that counts for anything.

                @kerfuffle: Yes, I did 8 sups a while back and did not need any id.

  • I just logged in, didnt do anything, and was greeted with this message;

    "We’re sorry. We can’t process your Additional Card application right now due to technical issues.
    If you would like to continue, please contact customer support or try again later."

    Must be too late at night. zzzzzzzzzz
