  • why is this deal better than this one :(

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/610436

    • $540 value compared to previous $500

      • yeh im annoyed :(

        • I activated card last week from the $500 deal myself

          • @horice: are you annoyed just as much as I am?

            • @Homr: Don't sweat the small stuff!

            • +1

@Homr: I'd rather untethered cash than points locked to a specific spend.

  • got a decline from previous. I doubt they will accept now 😂

    • Why do you think yours got declined?

  • I don't understand why such a big bank like ANZ doesn't have push or sms alerts for credit card spending. It doesn't even have deposit alerts for my savings account.

    • +1

Yet when I log into Flybuys every time, they need to confirm that it's me with an SMS and entering a code. Really makes you wonder.

      • Don't get me started on flybuys and woolies rewards

    • Totally agreed! I heard that Comm bank has alerts for both spending and deposits. Why is ANZ so backwards and old-schooled that they can't just offer such a normal service? I have been annoyed about this for years! Thanks for pointing it out and saying it out loud! ANZ sucks - from a 12 years ANZ customer

  • Just goes to show you, when you think a good bargain comes up, there's sometimes/usually (not always) a better one to come. The $500 one seemed great, then the Black Card $800 came up and then the slightly better Platinum offer here.

I did the other offer ($500 giftcards) and have already bought enough on the card. Now just trying to figure out how long to keep the card before cancelling. I've never done the churn before, but some of you appear to be experts at it.

    • Yeh but I had bills to pay this month to boost my spend. E.g health insurance, PO box renewals etc

but yeh, I would've definitely preferred the ANZ black card

You should cancel your card after receiving your gift card so that your 12 month cycle begins

    • +2

Redeem points/gift card and cancel as quickly as you can. You need to get that 12 month waiting period started for next year's deals.
Imagine the $800 deal being available next year for applications before 10/04/2022. You'd be kicking yourself not cancelling earlier and being stuck in the year lockout period.

      • ^^ this

      • But don't they eventually look at past history and say, "This person is just getting a signup reward and cancelling. No reason to keep giving him/her a card" ? I'm new to this game obviously.

        • Not in my experience and I've done a fair few lately. Sure it will now me eventually but I'm riding the wave for now

        • Fortunately not.

really rubbish page for application. Got stuck on the expenses and can't proceed. No error reported.

      Maybe try a different browser?
I've applied for 3 AnZ cards over last 18 months, never had a problem

  • Cant they release these deals on the same day, its getting confusing

  • I didn't get a confirmation email, does it take a while or did I put my address incorrectly?

  • Does anyone know if there are cancellation fee or terms? What's the fine print?

  • i would rather get this.

The previous one with gift card delivered to my house, now is a waiting game…..

  • Hi guys.
Can anyone confirm that the 3 month starts from the date of approval or card activation?

    • I want to know about this too

As i got the card on 23rd march but just activated 2 days ago

      • T&C says from date of approval.

  • Guys who have received this card, were you able to check your reward points once you setup the online account ?

    • +1

You need to go to anzrewards.com

      • Thanks !

  • You used to have to pay another $55 a year for membership of the Rewards scheme. Is that still true?

    • The $55 is waived in the first year as well.

  • +1

I've applied but of course the "one minute process" ended up with them saying they'll contact me. Every time and every card its the same.

  • Met the required transaction on 19 may…still waiting for the gift card email. Fingers crossed.

  • Got my points after first statement. Not sure when exactly, but it's been a week since I received the statement. Just randomly logged into the ANZ rewards site and there they were.

    • oh good to know….

Also, I was looking to getting the details repay the balance. But I am not able to find the details to pay back in to the card. It should come in the statement but as of now there is no statement available online nor can I find the details required to make a payment on the card.

      • +1

I think you need to wait for the statement. Or you can call them up and ask.

  • Does anyone know if you have to wait till the 3 months over or do you spend 1500 and get the points straight away?

    Thanks

    • +1

I got my bonus points within 2 weeks after the $1500 spend.

      • Nice! Did you need to sign up for anz rewards or was that automatic with the mobile app access?

        • You need to activate your rewards account on anzrewards.com.

  • Is anz rewards better or Qantas frequent flyer points linked to ANZ? What is the conversion?

  • Got my 120k points last night. With the points from the $1500 spend I had enough for $550 in woolies egift cards, which arrived instantly.

    Very easy money.

    • Have you tried loading into your woolies account? Or must you remember bring up the barcode on your phone each time you want to pay.

      • Added to the woolworths money app.

    • I just got my first statement and the bonus points are not added. When did you get your points?

      • Was about a week after the statement - about 2 weeks after the qualifying spend.

        • Did the statement mention the 120k points because mine dosnt.

      • Got my first statement, had made the required spend in the first month. No points yet.

  • Is the minimum spend that we see on websites is per month or annually?? e.g. seeing $500 minimum credit on WESTPAC LOW RATE vs seeing $15,000 on Westpac Altitude black minimum credit limit ??

Just never really been with a credit card before, coming from someone who uses debit card at all places, and doesnt earn full adult wage, hence not likely to meet those $30,000 minimum income limits. Also do they like consider your past income? e.g. like last year pay rate lower, so annual income lower, this year payrate higher so annual income higher any tips anyone?

    • the 1500 minimum spend is just you have to spend 1500 within 3 months in order to get the points 120k anz rewards points.

the credit limit is like your maximum per payment month, but the lowest you can set that to is 6k for this card (you can spend a maximum of 6000 in a statement period if that makes sense) higher limit may mean higher income required. i think the 500 minimum credit is a bit odd, like you only give yourself a cap of 500 per month to spend; its just saying the minimum you can set is 500, but the 15,000 minimum requires higher income

they take last 3 months payslips usually or and any salary credit statements so its safe to say maybe the previous 3-6 months is what they look at.

  • Also anyone know if spending money on like Visa/Mastercard Prepaid GC still makes us qualify for these minimum spend limits?

  • Got approved for this one… Initially applied for the HSBC offer but was declined.
