Hi OP, Looks like private sale or part of a possibly associated business promotion?

  • I assume OP is associated since they know how many are in stock?

    Also:
Reps from Australia must have an ABN or are a Top Rated Seller to Post deals

Edit: ok, looks like a legit company:

genuine sale. we acquired the stock legitimately. the stock was bought for a defence project last year. original stock has foam inserts but designed for specialist equipment so not usable for any other purpose. we're taking the foam insert out of the base but leaving the foam in the lid. the glue in the cases didn't meet ADF rules so the stock was returned. its not related to any kind of business promotion. just trying to sell the cases as they're brand new and never used. nothing out of the ordinary. we're new to this site so if we've done anything wrong - please let us know.

When you posted the deal you should have ticked the "I am Associated with the Store or Product" box and the link entered should have been to the product instead of uploading a picture of it.

thank you for the advice. would we be wise to remove this post and start again, making sure we follow the advice you've given?

I don't think so, just something to keep in mind for next time.

The foam is the selling point of Polican cases.

You'll end up spending more if you try to find the foam on your own.

    • For real?
I know it's expensive (foam) but surely there's other decent options.
I have a spare mattress underlay which would work OK 😁

Standard foam is much cheaper, it's the easy pick-and-pluck nature of pick-and-pluck foam that people pay for.

  • No foam?

    • Foam in the lid. The existing foam insert was designed for an ADF project based on specialist equipment they use. We remove the foam base before we ship the cases

      • So not brand new then

yes….brand new. never been used. shipped with no foam insert in the base but foam in the lid

  • I see these strapped to telephone and signposts these days.. whats that all about?

      Usually traffic surveys.

  • Not comparable, but plenty of other choices at Supercheap with 30% discount too

I've got quite a few of this style of case. A new Pelican, a 20+ year old Pelican and some Bunnings & Supercheap Auto knock offs. Without a doubt the knock offs are lower quality but they are still good. Not sure they'd stand up to the "drive the LandCruiser over them" test I tried years ago but they're good value.

  • What do people actually use these for? Bomb smuggling?

Moving and sending expensive camera gear, special tools, laptops, computers etc.

During lockdown, work was super quiet. I had a lot of free time.

      • Please tell me that whenever you carried this outside you wore a suit and dark glasses and put a single wired ear-bud in your ear.

I put a pair of fake handcuffs on the handle. It was quite amusing.

I work in the telecommunications field and we carry expensive equipment in these. Network testers, fusion splicers, laptops and such.

    • I don't use this brand, I use the cheap bunnings version.
I use 1 to store and transport a portable projector for when we go camping or want a movie night out.
A second 1 is a protective travel case for the Nintendo switch as its cheaper than an official one and fits more.
A mate uses 1 to transport his PS5 as he takes it everywhere.
      Plenty of uses

    • Popular for guns, which im assuming what is what the adf was using them for. If so the inserts probably would have worked for a few people on here.
