  • Cheapo parts except for gpu and ram

    • Gigabyte X570 Gaming X

Edit: ok it is cheap for a X570 board

Hi mate, your title and description state different CPU’s, might want to change the title to say Ryzen 7! :)

    • Updated description to Ryzen 5

    • Hi, Thx for mention that. Also thx for Richard to help fix XD

As long as the PSU is solid, I'd want an Aorus board not a Gaming X, probably doesn't matter that much (just for built in Wifi, better VRM), I would happily buy this and just leave it completely as is. Price well, GPU is $???? So, doesn't seem stupid really.

What should it cost? $950, but they're really $1400 if you can find them, so with that in mind,

    https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/rrdrBc

$450 between building it, warranty, and it being available, nah it's fine, fair deal imo.

    • Hi Conza,

Can you give us a specific motherboard model?

G'day! Honestly, I wouldn't even go X570, if it had to be X570 for some reason though I would select the "Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE WIFI" which can be had at around $300. But if I could customise I would select the "Gigabyte B550 AORUS MASTER" for $270, or for similar cost the "Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2". I don't think I need the X570 chipset, the Master has everything I'd want, even a post code, all the IO, all the VRM, 3x M.2 spots USB 3.2, 6 fan headers, even thunderbolt (and yes wifi). Elite AX V2 still has 5 fan headers, loses an M.2 slot, loses some IO still has 2.5Ghz LAN and the VRM is still a 12+2 phase, but otherwise it's still a great board.

X570 Gaming X is probably fine, but for an overclocked Ryzen 9 (12 core), it was the worst performing Gigabyte board according to Hardware Unboxed's testing in late 2019*. it's X570 which again I don't think I need, needs active cooling for the chipset, I'm paying for features I'll never use eg. Crossfire/SLI, it's PCIe 4.0 x4 for the chipset which is nice, but not worth it, for me.

        • Hi Conza,

We now offer a ROG STRIX B550-F Upgrade for an extra $100.

But looks like you love Aorus more :)

          Regards

          • @BPC Technology: Thanks for the reply, that's an odd choice I think as it's an upgrade from an entry level X570 to a mid-level B550, a top end B550 or X570 would make sense, it should be $100 more for the AORUS MASTER ($70 actually), and ~$100 more for a mid-level to top end X570 board.

Anyway, still a fair deal you have in the current market, it is $450 above MSRP, some of that is in building and the warranty (and postage), but if you had a great board and advertise the PSU, I think it's virtually a perfect combination.

The Intel angle today is also interesting, but when 10th gen runs out 11th gen makes no sense again, so that's only temporary, better to stick with AM4.

Some decent specs, and as others have commented, it's interesting times when the Alienware PC is not priced too far off from local PC shops.

If it were me, I'd probably lean towards this option even though I appreciate/value the Dell/Alienware warranty/support/delivery because the Aurora R10/11/12 with single intake fan and exhaust fan requires some work to improve cooling to make it sustainable…. and whilst I do like the look of the Aurora, something like the Coolermaster case here is far more practical from an expandability/upgradability perspective in the future.

The Alienware options do have superior IO though, a hard drive, better CPU (F granted) and liquid cooling, and the Alienware feel-good-ness, but having a normal EVGA card + upgradability are far more valuable to me.

    • looks like a 120mm AIO so probably absolute ass for a 11900F vs the deepmax air cooler and the case doesn't look amazing for airflow at all but who knows really.

Lack of USB-C is not a valid reason to neg.

Price gouging? Please show an example of in-stock pricing for the specific parts in this build and why this deal isn't the cheapest?

Otherwise again, not a valid reason to neg.

    • Do you even need a USB-C port?

      • Facts, have 2 USB C ports that I never used

This seems over priced for the lowest level 3080.. the alienware deal the other day was $150 more expensive but included a $500-600 screen, $200 keyboard, $100 mouse and $100 headphones.

Nit picking - no usb c's, outdated case, super cheap cooler.

NOTE: i purchased the alienware deal, however that didnt sway my opinions on this deal.

    • Honestly yes, I think that was a surprisingly good value Alienware deal and the reality is you could always sell the accessories and come out ahead.

    • +1

there are NO DEALS on 3080 right now, anything you buy will be overpriced by normal standard, but again, we don't live in normal times, same can be said of the property market right now, and that's not $200-300 more, its literally $100,000s of $$ more then just back in December
its all heading to s#*t right now so buy if you can and are able to, dont think its a bargain

I made a pcpartpicker for this but they are charging over $1000 more than ple for the GFX card so its not really valid

    • Umm 5600x for $509? I could easily get it from Amazon or Newegg for way cheaper (got mine for $420 from Amazon). And let’s not talk about the 3080… I saw Vision OC 3080 for $1999 the other day from JW (although nowhere in my mind did I think that was cheap)

So you mean parallel import with no local warranty?

        • AMD's warranty is international for the original purchaser.

      • -1

        Ridiculous 2400 price point.

  • How quickly do you ship? I'm looking at other "in stock at Mount Waverley Store" systems.

    • Hi Sharp,

Generally, we ship within 3-5 Working days.

But if you choose to pick it up from our Mount Waverley Store, you will definitely get the order faster.

    • I feel that's worthy of a deal in itself… but I have to admit whilst the parts are from brands I know, I've never heard of the assembler.

  • This is almost twice as expensive as that dell with 3070 gpu. Is it really worth the jump in price?

    Hi,

Any chance on swapping or upgrading the motherboard to another make / model?

    Thanks

  • Hi OP

Any chance for mobo upgrade to X570 Aorus Master? If so how much? Thanks

  • Would recommend these guys , got my pc within a week ( Melb to bris) impressed with build and quality (even got a 3 fan vs a 2 fan 6700 XT for nothing extra).

    • Glad to know you like it :)

  • Hi Budgetpc

I tried to buy this however the website shows a higher price than listed

    Is that an error?

Also are there any parts we can upgrade as part of the purchase?

    Thanks

    • Hi Blackburrito,

Because the promo period already over, therefore the price is back to normal.

At the moment the only upgrade option will be an extra 100AUD for the ROG Strix B550-f Motherboard upgrade.
