  • seems like a good deal, after the woolworth 10% off

    • +2

There was a woolworths 10% off? Was this through suncorp? Any details would be great, thanks.

      • +4

no sorry, what i meant was that there was a 10% off ikea giftcard at woolworth a while back which was a decent offer.

FWIW, I've been able to exceed the monthly limit on JB cards but ymmv on these.

  • Can you redeem multiple vouchers in a transaction online?

    • +1

      Yea. Unlimited.

      • What about instore?

        • +1

Yep. Never had any issue. Especially at self checkout.

  • Same 5% off IKEA gift card is available with HCF thank you in the same denominations ($20 - $200)

    • … but there is a 1% transaction fee for any purchase through HCF Thank You.

  • Can we still sign up for a new account with this one?

Team, Do we know how long the expiry date is for the gift cards?

    • +2

Sorry missed that detail, expiry is 36 months.

      • Thank you 🙏

  • Does suncorp rewards let you buy gift card with a credit card?

    • Yes, no surcharges for credit card.

      • thanks - I did try to add couple of credit cards.. the 'VERIFY AUTH' charge just doesn't come up in my credit card (contacted both card companies). Not sure what I am doing wrong.

        • Hmm that's a bit odd, I can't exactly remember how long it took to retrieve the authorisation charge on my cards, but I can't remember it being an issue. Maybe need to wait a day or so to see if it pops up, if not you might need to contact Suncorp.

  • I’m actually buying a kitchen from IKEA this week so it’s perfect timing! My biggest purchase ever after a house. However, Suncorp don’t take AMEX :-(

    • Either way you can only claim $1000 a month so the max you can get off in one transaction is $50

      • Does the $1K/mth limit apply on the purchase of the egift cards from Suncorp? Or the use/redemption of egift cards at Ikea?

    • DIY install?

      • Was thinking initially but now getting an installer to do it. I might be able to DIY but it will take ages.

run the cost of a ikea kitchen vs getting it custom made. i wanted the Ikea Voxtorp kitchen and i had it quoted from Ikea for approx $6000 not including benchtop. Ended up ordering a kitchen custom made with the laundry bench and cabinets for $7000 not including stone. it just wasn't worth while for me to install everything with no cost saving.

on another note i wanted to install a 900mm gas cooktop and this wasnt doable with ikea cabinets as they dont come in that size which means i would of required to DIY modify 2x ikea base cabinets to suit. (more chance to F up there also)

          regards
          smeng

@smeng: That’s great info. Yes I have actually the run the cost of a custom made as well. The installer gave me a quote of $5600 + installation and removal separate. IKEA is giving me the most basic kitchen at $3800. Same installer will be doing the work. So I am saving $1800 straight away not to mention the customer service of IKEA (which I am a fan of) with 25 years warranty.

            • @CricNix: with basic kitchen then its no question Ikea will be cheaper, does that include laminate benchtop also. Kitchen cabinet makers make it like they dont get out of bed unless its a $5k job. In the end its just melamine boards which you can even buy from bunnings

Best thing about Ikea is 365 day return policy, when i see an item on sale i buy it first in case it goes out of stock then return the item if it does not work out at home

              regards
              smeng

              • @smeng: Actually laminate only because I'm on a budget. I'm comparing like for like that is laminate from installer and laminate from Ikea.
When you say Melamine from Bunnings, do you mean for workbench or for cabinets?

                • @CricNix: cabinets they are all white melamine internal boards, the door panels can be either laminate or painted finishs

My advise would be buy gift cards ASAP cause it can take even more than 48 hours to activate to use. It’s a personal experience though just in last January. Bought it and can only use to redeem after 48 hours.

      • Thanks so much for the heads up. Waiting for my credit card statement which should be received 3:41AM tomorrow 🤞🏻

      • I bought +-8 IKEA gift cards for myself and +-3 for somebody else via SB and received all of them instantly (I bought them in store for the exact amount that I needed, right before paying in IKEA).
I don't have experience with IKEA gift cards via Suncorp, but JB hifi ones and Amazon always arrived instantly via Suncorp.

Good to know that IKEA ones might take a while, which is a bit of a bummer if you don't know yet how much you're going to spend.

Looks like meatball's back on the menu boys

  • +2

Is it me or is IKEA food pretty crap and overpriced for the portions?

    Meatballs are kinda crap too

    • hotdogs are the only thing thats cheap

      • Hotdogs used to be decent now tastes bad… Or maybe it's just me

        • I was thinking the exact oposite of this.

  • What's the easiest/cheapest way to get access to Suncorp benefits?

    Does this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/464881
$0 fee Transaction account still today grant access?

    • +1

CTP insurance via AAMI or GIO

But my impression of Suncorp Rewards overall is that it’s good only for small amounts (their weekly/monthly/yearly limits suck)

    • I read here on OB that somebody started the signup process with Suncorp but didn't continue with ID check and still got access to the Suncorp rewards …

  • Does anyone know when Ikea sends that quarterly $10 voucher after spending $100? I spent over $100 before the end of March and still haven't received anything.

    • Got mine a few days ago

      • Thanks. Hopefully mine will come soon.

      • Same here, got my voucher a few days ago (purchases made in January).

  • Is anyone having an issue with the QR code not appearing in the app? I've got a broken image link for all 4 gift cards I bought. Will they accept the card number and pin instead instore?

  • These are no longer available.

    • +2

      Back again now :)

      • tyvm :)

      • You are a legend! Thanks.

  • +1

FYI cards came through instantly as expected

  • Can we still qualify for quarterly rewards if paid with gift card? Thanks

    • Yes. I only used gift cards in January, and got $10 this month.
I could have gotten $50 with the IKEA promotion from February, but I had already bought everything I needed in January.
(And note it's $10 for >$100 spend not per $100; if you spend $100 or $2000 it's the same : you get $10 in the next quarter.)

Also, if you're over the max with Suncorp, you could do the remaining with 4% shopback (I bought majority of gift cards right before paying in IKEA, and had all of them instantly with SB).
Also the lady at checkout was patient and had no issues/comments scanning +-8 gift cards and entering the pins.

      • Thank you.
I made purchase and paid with gift card to get the $50 with the IKEA promotion but I haven't received quarterly rewards yet.

  • Thanks OP, got 5% off the desk I was after (:
