How can I use it in Australia

    • +2

By making a US PSN account

      • Can I make that from my ps5? Or there are different instructions for that

        • +2

I suggest you do it on a browser. If you use Chrome, use incognito mode.

Goto: https://store.playstation.com/en-us, Click Sign In, then Create New Account. When asked about region, pick United States and continue with the process.

          • @netsurfer: Thanks

            • +2

@sedi: If you already have current AU PS Plus AND it is inactive, switching to USA PS Plus means you won't be able to play any PS Plus 'free' games you collected previously on your AU PS Plus account.

Also, save games most likely won't work. You also need to download USA version of the PS Plus free games each month (you don't get the AU version). Your AU account can play those US version of games, but you must login with the new USA account each month to collect them.

              • @netsurfer: Got it. Cheers

              • @netsurfer: There are none of those issues if you've registered a US account from the start though right? In terms of playing those US games on an Australian console?

                • +2

@cheepo: You will be able to play those US games on an AU console (both digital and physical disc versions). We, OZBers, had purchased US PS4 games from US PSN stores before (coz. US store can have different special promotions). I have an US PSN account and I do own a small number of games which are US version.

The saved game issue can still be annoying, especially if you had PS4 for a while and now moved to PS5.

PS Plus Collection - Do you have saved games for any of those games (i.e. God of War, Uncharted 4, Days Gone etc…)? If yes, it is very likely your saved games won't work in the USA versions of the games.

However, if you have no backlog on those games OR you own games you will likely replay from PS Plus Collection, then that's not an issue.

@netsurfer: Understood - I see what your referring to now. I don't have an existing PS account. Seeing how cheap this is and plan on "eventually" getting a PS4 or PS5, I was intending on signing up and to collect some games digitally until the consoles arrives (mainly for exclusives). I wanted to ensure it wouldn't pose an issue with an Australian console. Thanks for your help mate - your always helpful when it comes to this stuff.

  • PlayStation Plus US 1 Year AUD33.89 RRP AUD$85.99

    • $79.95 from Amazon AU, JB if you must get AU version right now. Most OZBers would wait till the yearly special deal if they want the AU PS Plus.

$33.98 is cheap for PS Plus. Pity my AU subscription still has 6 months left.

  • I've previously read that somebody stacked 7 years so I assume this is not capped at 3 years or thereabouts - like Xbox?

    • +1

No one knows the limit, but you seem to only be able to buy 5 of these (that's the limit set by cdkeys).

      • More than plenty for me. Thanks again for your help. 👍

    • So it is stackable? Even for 2 years? This is a great deal

      • +1

I just purchased two years and stacked them. I had no existing subscription.

I'm sure I've previously read of people stacking way more if I remember correctly.

      • Just stacked for 3 years and went through fine. Make sure you turn off auto renew after the last one.

      • +1

Been stackings for a min 3 years expiry, renewed every year from black friday sale.

  • I wish i'd known about this when I first got a ps4… I think I've only been subbed for about 2 years out of the 6 or 7 that I've owned a ps3/4 or 5 but when I do resub, i keep getting the Australian one so I can maintain access to my existing freebies which I still never end up playing…

    why do you need this?

what can it do that an external 1tb hard disk cant do?

    • +3

      Wrong thread, mate.

      • -5

Should have known better, PS4 thread = barrel bottom.
Thanks for typing those 3 words, good effort, hope the rest of your day improves

american site is subsidised by sales from overseas players. Thats one reason why their prices are lower.

Be warned, if you have any AU/EU games, you cannot use US DLC and vice versa.
