    • I'll get mine for $700 a little while from now, maybe :o

  • Jeez 2 mins and OOS

    • Was OOS the second I clicked the link. DOA.

  • Haha, i sometimes think these are phantom posts.

  • I got one 🥳. Signup for the email stock level. Bought it 20 minutes after the email came through

I'm crying that I missed it

      Big hug

  • Darn it I just turned away for a moment

  • I took delivery of mine yesterday after ordering in November. I'd wager manufacturing is starting to pick up so even the short availability will hopefully increase in frequency.

    • Umart has been doing drop for them at this price monthly I think

      • Weird. I'm on their mailing list and have a web monitor for 5900x availability and haven't seen anything. Sure that's not the 5600 you're thinking of?

        • they sell out in a few minutes everytime so no surprised that you didn't get any email, no it's the 5900x

    • November had 2 in stock drops iirc. Grabbed one of them, had it within the week. Was 849 or 869 at the time. Good ole days when fighting for a drop was considered bad.

      • Yep, Nov was the last time there was any 'decent' availability. I got mine through PC Case Gear but arguably they let their pre orders run a little too wild.

    To everyone that missed out:

Serves you right for not checking ozbargain every 10 minutes!

What's the point of signing up for the in-stock emails if they don't arrive lol

  • I am curious what people are using 12 cores for? I myself find 6 cores are plenty

Watching the pretty graph in windows task manager with 24 boxes when you do random stuff.

I see trucks on the road but what is anybody using them for? I myself find a Corolla plenty

  • Thanks OP. I managed to snag one after many months of trying!

Thanks OP and the previous post that alerted me! I managed to order one although it is showing stocks in 3-5 days. Hopefully it'll come in.

    • No worries - glad you managed to get one :)

  • Fml. Out of stock as I press pay

    • As I was choosing my payment methods…

  • Just bought one so can build my sisters PC. Hopefully they actually deliver it and not say it sold out. My payment was cleared, time to wait and see.

  • Payment went through, let's see if I get it or not.

Was the last bit I needed - was getting this or the 5950x, whichever came up first, as I wasn't too bothered.

Now, to get a cooling solution then build it once everything arrives.

    • Did you get it? Mine was available to pick up yesterday!

      • +1

Australia post tracking says they have it as of late this arvo, so I should get it next week, possibly Monday (which is also when the AIO may arrive).

  • I have a 5600X, is it worthy to upgrade?

    • Depends for what purpose

    • If you are purely gaming and use it for light loaded applications (e.g. Chrome, Office, listening to music, watching video, etc), the 5600X is the best CPU. But if you are chasing multicore benchmarks or using a lot of heavy loaded productivity applications day to day (e.g. video editing, virtual machines, etc), then the 5900x (even 5950x) is useful. I'd stay away from 5800x though unless you are willing to invest time to tune it (e.g. PBO limits, Curve Optimizer, AutoOC, etc).
