Dell UltraSharp U3011 30" Monitor $999 in Dell Outlet

440

The famous 30" Dell monitor is $999 in the Dell Outlet at the moment. This is the cheapest I've ever seen it, it is normally $1199 in the outlet and $1599 retail, although some recent promotions have been below $1100. There are 7 available at this price.

This a good price. Probably better holding out for retail U3011's to be close to $1K and get the full 3-year warranty :)

  • If only this was 120hz.

    The 16:10 is appealing though.

Anyone think 30" is too big? I have 27" 16:9 at the moment.

    • You get used to it, it seemed big at first but my 3008 certainly doesn't feel big now. Would never choose anything smaller on my desktop in the future.

    • depends how close you sit, i do find the 3008 a little strenuous to look at after a few hourse of viewing. i think the 27" is slightly more comfortable on the eyes. but then you don't get the 2560x1600!

      • I'm the opposite.. I find the 30 more comfortable…

        • The pixel pitch on the 27" is slightly lower, so the pixel density is a little higher and it could put more strain on your eyes.

  • 2560x1600… drool

nothing stands between an ozbargainner and a bargain, not even global warming!

      Al Gore runs and cries

    • He may have a point, not the enviroment part, but it will cost you more in electricity to run than other brands :O

A Dell U3011 30" will cost you around 6x more to run than say a Dell G2410.

      • Still only 144watts at maximum brightness.

That's fairly little compared to something like a Plasma TV.

  • Hey so im not getting through on that link and the australia Dell site has them for $1599, Any ideas?

  • I got an error too "The page you requested may no longer exist on Dell.com". the OP did say "7 available", so maybe they're sold out (at that price)?

edit: and now its working again…

All gone now, well at least taken off the outlet site.

    • Still says there's 5 available for me.

BTW i grabbed one of these about a year back, amazing monitor, i'd buy another if i could fit it on my desk

    • Still 5 left (third row from the top)

    • 4 left now

  • Dell knows how to make you go broke, them and theirs specials :(

  • If only they allowed for pivot…

Becareful with this because you only get 1 year warranty and there is not refunds on DFO items its better just to wait for the deal and get 7% back from moneybackco from %1199

    • Is an extra $200 worth the two years warranty? Even when Dell monitors are top of the end? Would like to her some opinions. I bought the DFO monitor for $999, the lady said I can get 3 years warranty for $1200.

      • As i stated above i got mine about a year back, within a few weeks it died and i contacted Dell. They replaced it within a couple of days and its been running fine ever since.
I'd get the extra warranty for piece of mind

        • if you have a mac, why wouldn't you get a thunderbolt display for this kind of money?

        • The thunderbolt displays are more comparable to the 27" Dell screens. This one is bigger with more res.

        • I have a Mac Pro, they don't have thunderbolt ports yet

  • All gone it seems.
