Great burgers, prefer these to grilled.

    Original price $35 wtf.
If you are dumb enough to pay $35 for two burgers, hang your head in shame for you are not of Ozbargain.

  • +3

They've been flogging this mercilessly on IAD and another group site for at least the past three days. The other deal site had exactly the same offer, but was $1 more expensive.

As for whether the burgers are worth it, I've never tried them. But they would be real burgers, something like you might get at the fish and chip shop of old, except supposedly with better buns and meat. So I think they would be worth at least $8 each inclusive of chips.

Just because we frequent OzBargain does not mean we should eat McD cheeseburgers and cheap cask wine.

    • I lovee old fish and chips shops burger, for some reason they do real burger and cheap too. never pay more than 7 dollar on those shops. sadly they are a bit of endangered species in sydney

    Only 2 chips?
    Seems a bit stingy.

    • hahaha 2chips

must be very big enormous 2 pounds chip

They are not! Need 1 for Sydney

OP or Mods, can we get QLD or Brisbane in the title?

    • +2

What is BNE in the title stand for then?
      Thought it was Brisbane

      • -2

BNE = Brisbane International Airport Code

I was wondering what that was. ;) Nice to learn something! I think the OP has done this as there's a limit on the characters in the title. Still awkward, for me at least. :/

      • -1

BNE is a bit unintuitive for those who don't know the airport code of Brisbane Airport. Perhaps BRI or BRIS may be better for OzBargain?

        • -2

Seriously? BNE is pretty self explanatory. Like ADL, DRW, MLB etc

  • RRP $35?!?!? Are you serious? Who would pay that?

    • +1

$15 for nice Cafe style eating is pretty standard. People pay this all the time. It is slightly on the high side depends on the Quality.

For comparison, I looked at the Fish and Burger menu at the Barracks. F&B is slightly cheaper but their burgers are… modest… (but yum).

shrug Good luck to them. I hope it is great food.

    • Isn't that about what a two burgers and two sets of chips would cost at Grill'd? Overpriced certainly, but not so uncommon that it requires that many exclamation and question marks.

  • Seriously this is stupid value price/rrp.

  • +1

I've had these burgers, and they are pretty good, real meat and fresh salads.

$16 for 2 ppl is not bad.

  • -1

Add in 2 drinks and that would be a good deal, but still no bargain :P

  • Tried this deal from another site and it was great. Wouldn't hesitate to pay RRP for them imo. Sweet potatoe chips for a few bucks extra were great also.

    • So ~$40 for two for burgers with chips???

Don't know where you are located but in Melb you can really EAT for $40.
Wouldn't go more than $12 for any deluxe burger… unless it came with a happy ending.

      • +1

Yes, each on their own. If you want to limit your lifes experiences based on price by all means do so. But don't go bagging others who don't mind paying a bit more for difference experiences. It's such a narrow mindset.

FYI their burgers were $12-16 so its note exactly excessive. In the end the burgers were EXCELLENT. I rather pay more for a GOOD burger then a $10 ass flavoured burger.

        • -1

          Hahaha
I eat out all the time, I live in a city of restaurants, so no I don't limit my life experience.
I am happy to spend freely when the value is there.
$40 two burgers + chips. Na.
          Around $25, sure.

A deluxe burger, like all things, it has a value and a limit before its a rip.

        • By saying 'na' based on price you are already displaying your limits. Add to that you actually haven't even tried it and simply basing opinions on paper value therefore ignorant to the size, taste and quality that make up real 'value'.

      • -1

        Hahahaha.
        Really Jason.

We have all eaten Grill'd and the other upmaket burgers. They're fine but they have a price limit.
        Give it a rest mate.

        • You fail to realise you are the one going on-and-on about price? Taking ignorance to another level I see :)

        • -2

          Ignorance to the next level?
What on earth are you talking about?

Listen Jason, for $40 anyone can easily eat all manners of truly interesting meals here from endless varieties of restaurants.
Being happy getting screwed $40 for a decent burger is a true fools paradise, go for it mate.

          lol.

Yes King T, you live in Melbourne, love eating out (supposedly) and like paying $25 or less for burger meals. Good for you. You can now stop trying to impress others and myself with your frugality and extremely limited mindset.

The fool is the one who labels others 'dumb' because he doesn't agree with paying an $x price for y product. I don't stoop to that level sorry to disappoint you.

  • Their burgers are quite expensive, but they are larger than your average Grill'd, etc. They taste great and for an occasional burger out it's not a bad price at all. You seriously don't need the chips considering the size of the burger.

  • Interesting to see the different price points of your average burger:

    Fast food - $5-$7
    Gourmet fast food $8-$12
    Pubs $15-$20
    Restaurant $18-$22

IMO these are around the average price for burgers (at least around Melbourne)
Having said that, the best in terms of consistency and taste would be the gourmet fast food variety, Griled etc…

Pub burgers range from completely crap, to down right delicious!
