  • Do you have a guide/post on how to get Synology DSM working on this? Cheers!

  • I know zilch about NAS storage aside from the one on my Router (which is have flashed to DD_WRT) shared via SMB. I was thinking a 4 bay but what brand ? This one ok ? or Synology ? or ? Any of them run Nextcloud ? What about going on a fanless SFF and running a Linux install ? and sharing via that ?

all these are questions I try to answer as well… having a pre-built NAS removes headaches with maintenance (supposedly), has probably lower power consumption and I'm more confident it manages RAID better than me. I'm aiming for a 4 bay NAS (probably synology just because of the software) and a NUC for a server. Still contemplating though. AFAIK all these run Nextcloud.
