Based on what? There are more OLEDs for sale, not less and it's not a gimmick like 3D was.

Nah, $3500ish is quite common at this moment. TGG, Bing Lee, HN, JB are all offering similar prices.

Currently the cheapest one I can find is Appliances Central: $3520 with free shipping

I think $3200-$3300 should be the target price.

They are pretty big here in WA

      •

        They are?

      •

You go to Retravision if you like paying more for everything.

Got my fridge from there for 60% of any other comparable fridge sale (had been looking for weeks prior to first house)

I paid $3195 two weeks ago from Good Guys by calling their 1300 phone sales number - without asking they reduced the price

OLED = too many negatives and still often considered as the best?

    •

      Valid question

    • +3 votes

Yep. If you want the best picture there’s no other choice. Just look after it and no issues.

    •

What negatives? Burn in issues are reducing due to improvement in display technology. The prices are also reducing. Brightness of panels also improving for viewing in brightly lit rooms. What other negatives are there?

      •

Agreed. I love mine and there are safeguards in place that prevent burn in. Gotta love those deep blacks.

$3200 is the average price as of today.. they are getting rid of the stocks preparing for new C1.

  •

From their websites, It seems like it is OOS at good guys and jb around metro melb?

    •

Yes, up until 2 days ago there was some stock left at a few locations in Metro Melb at JB. Picked mine up early April from the Melbourne distribution centre and even then there were few locations left.

  •

Good guys in Noarlunga (SA) are having clearance on 65 CX for $2999. Not sure if other GG stores are doing the same. Only display stock left in that store. I would check around you might be able to get a good deal

I just called and reserved the last remaining unit at Good Guys in Browns Plains for $2,965. On my way to pick it up. =)

    •

Nice. Hopefully some others can get the TV around oz too

      •

Yeah I got the last one at a store near mine for around the same price. Was gonna wait till later in the year to get the C1 but for this price I am willing to bite the bullet
