It would be awesome if you guys also catalogued other supermarkets, such as IGA or Aldi - Woolworths and Coles don't need any more help to monopolize the market!

    • +2

      Duopolise maybe? ;p

      • +1

Technically I think it would be 'oligopolise', but I'm no economy-guy! :p

[edit] No, you're right…evidently there's a couple of different models of duopoly in the nomenclatural hierarchy as well. :)

IGA specials vary a lot between locations.

  • +3

Ill put in a plug for the saxbys gingerbeer, thats some seriously good shizzle!

    • +1

I hear ya, in fact I might go crack one now ;)

      • +1

        You go girl!

    • mmmmmmmmm…….. it's ginger….. and it's beer….

  • Yeah, IGA are very different from state to state and sometimes suburb to suburb.

  • I wonder why so many fruit juices are on sale.

  • how about grocery runs ?

  • +6

Can't believe the Coles one got deleted because someone else made a half-ass attempt at copying you.

  • Franklins weekly specials have been good lately on certain items…certainly worth a look if you are near one, combined with a Coles or Woolies shop you can get most of your shopping items on special :-)

  • Thanks..IGA or Harris Farms would be great!

Comment about Ginger beer, but nothing about supporting the Duopoly's rivals, MyGrceries.Com.au.

Do you get paid by them?

    • +4

LOL, hell no! Point being you buy the specials to make them LESS money, at least that's what I do.

RE rivals, that's why we're asking who else do you want? So far it's seems like IGA and Aldi.

  • IGA, Aldi and Franklins….they all have catalogues so shouldn't be anything more than your time! With 5 different lists of specials it may be possible to get everything on sale each week!

    • +2

Franklins isn't national, IGA would be pointless as most specials wouldn't be at my local IGA, and doing Aldi is stupid because there is no saving of money, they are everyday prices that appear every week.

I would rather view the quick and easy Aldi catalogue on their website or using the Aldi phone application.

      • If MyGroceries had Aldi prices, users of that website can buy their list items from Aldi's as well as Coles Safeway. Having the intelligent price search would help navigate through all the items (and prices) on Aldis's online grocery navigator
It would bring a lot of Aldi shoppers to his website.

      • +1

I don't think it's fair to ask MyGroceries to post the whole Aldi price list most of which changes rarely. However Aldi do have specials on groceries and produce which isn't a long list and could be posted. However there won't always be % or $ off comparisons since some of the bargains are seasonal or for Aldi brands. So if MyGroceries kindly takes it up, we should cut him/her some slack if the prices don't turn out to be that great compared to other places.

Then again you could go to Aldi's website or subscribe to their newsletter. It isn't that hard to read.
