DSE: Xbox 250GB HDD Only - $99.94 (Not Console)

130

Hi Guys,

I saw this in the shop today and it looks like they're clearing out their stock to make room for the new 320gb which retail around the $150 mark.

These hard drives are used to upgrade the storage capacity on Xbox 360 4GB Slims.

You can get the 320gb xbox hdds with a downloadable lego game for about the same price online overseas, but you have to wait for delivery.

This deal at DSE isn't bad if you need it now or don't have a credit card to order online.

Thought it was worth mentioning. Enjoy! :)

Is that similar to this which also comes with a game and an extra 70 gig?

Yes, this is the smaller 250gb version with no game in a retail store.

I purchased the 320gb version at ozgameshop myself. Had to wait for delivery tho. This DSE is just another option to upgrade storage capacity for those who may not like purchasing online, have no credit card or can't wait and need storage space now.

    • Totally worth it.
Though recently Ozgameshop delivery time has been significantly faster than before. Took me 10 days to get games delivered. Before it took me 15+ days

      • I noticed that too. I think a lot of mail delivery systems got upgraded to handle the 2011 xmas rush. I'm liking the quicker delivery times :)

        • Very happy with Ozgameshop now

  • Like I'm sure others will point out; this is only a B&M deal. If you can handle waiting for it to ship, get a 320GB from OzGameshop for $99.

    • Or if you're happy to fool around, you can use a 320gb (or smaller) WD drive. :)

I managed to get extremely lucky and scored one off ebay for $50 - with current HDD prices I was more than happy with it.

  • Why are the Xbox hard drives so expensive? It is a rip off. You can get a 640GB hard disk for the PS3 for around $50-60. I guess it's Microsoft ripping people off.

    • at least the console itself is cheaper to start with! $148 gets you an xbox 360 slim.

      • Is that still available anywhere? Need a new one.

      • and why is it cheaper? because they get you on stuff like a hard drive.

        • once you add the hard drive, does it cost more than a ps3?

    • what i did is,bought the console (for-148$),get a Western Digital Scorpio ,BEVS 250GB SATA hard drive, used HDDhackr to flash it through PC,and now its xbox 360S 250gb,ended lot cheaper to me,can get a xbox hdd enclosure for 12$ from ebay(if u want it perfect)

    • Is that a Sony-branded HDD for your imaginary $50-60? Cheapest I've ever seen a 640GB laptop HDD for was $80, and that was before the shortages…

But yes, MS are ripoffs when it comes to the HDDs. But stange thing is, the price of the Xbox-branded HDDs has not risen as much as regular laptop HDDs….

      • Some regular HDDs jumped by 100%! 1TB used to be $55-$60 before the flood, now they're $110ish.
Annoyingly, EMC and NetApp have only raised their HDD list prices by 5-15%. I doubt they're subsidizing drives by THAT much, so maybe the HDD manufacturers gouge us to subsidize their big clients.

  • You can check what stores have stock with these links. What are the difference between the two drives? I'm assuming one is for slim one is for original 360s but not sure?

    • The grey is for the original, the black one is for the slim

  • For an extra $50 you can get the 320GB one and comes with Lego Star Wars Ep 3 full game (worth $75).

That's what I got and really good value.
