$400 Trade-in and Stackable $200 & $50 Discount on Galaxy S21 Series (Galaxy S21 128GB $449, RRP $999) @ Samsung Store

2790

Looks like Samsung have increased their trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S21 to $400 (it has varied between $200 and $500 in the past two months). The $200 discount code also now appears to be stackable again, and you can also stack the $50 newsletter sign up voucher.

Ask a live chat agent (https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/) for a $200 discount voucher.

        • you have to pay back the trade-in amount if you don't send back the phone. It states this as part of the process of getting your trade-in code.

      • "You miss out on the $400 in this case but you still have the other $400+$200." Sorry couldn't understand what you said. In my case, I've an Iphone 6, worth $5. So you mean I have to payback $5 and keep $600 ($400 trade-in + $200)? So the total amount I've to pay $650 ($1250 rrp - 600 total discount) without any liabilities?

        • You dont actually have to pay the $400 back. If you read the older thread with the $500 off that is not the case. They charge you the trade in value which is what people are being charged. Ive gotten my trade in reminder emails and it says to 'remember to send in my phone or risk being charged my $35 trade in value'.

          • @worthy1: Got it. They just charge your old phone trade in value (mine is iphone 6, $5) back, but you get to keep trade-in bonus and other discount/s ($400 + $200). I don't want to bother sending my iphone for $5.

            • @NimNim: Thats the best way to do it, get the cheapest phone that is allowed for trade in. Personally ide be happy to send it in as Morally that is what i said i would do but people are reporting that they are sending in perfectly fine phones and getting emails saying they dont meet the standards and will be charged the money anyway. They then also keep the phone since most wont pay to ship it back.

Basically a 3rd party handles the trade in and the bonus voucher is a samsung thing.

              • @worthy1: Yep, that's the thing. Not worth the hassle. But anyway are they sharing our credit details with 3rd party. Hope this won't bite back in your credit report later on. In what way they asked you to pay your $35 trade in value? To whom? Going to deduct automatically by Samsung?

              • @worthy1: @NimNim, Agreed not sure why ozb are trading in phones for less the 50% its value. Not ozb like at all

I bought 2 non cracked iPhone 7's Paid $120/$100 for $40ea and traded them + I'll see my phone privately for max return

                • @Geoff897: where and when did you get those iphone 7 from?
did you buy it for just this or a previous samsung deal like this?

so you got traded value of $40 but not be sending this phones to Samsung for trade up
and just pay the $40 to them?

                  • @pinkybrain: Last deal, Just bought used from gumtree and FB marketplace and traded those and I'll sell my S10

          • @worthy1: how do you pay them back the trade in value?
from the the trade up app, we had to add our credit card or debit details before it work on the website checkout

            • @pinkybrain: Yes they will charge the card that you used for the app. I was going to buy another phone for my wife and was able to reuse the app and it gave another code. That time i tried using a visa eftpos card that has like $5 left on it and that worked. Another way to get around the charge. Sure Asurion (The 3rd party) will have your details but are they going to chase you or take you to court for $35.

              • @worthy1: what you mean reuse the app?

so you had tradeup app on your phone e.g. s10
then you got the trade up id
then you added you credit detail to the app

then you checkout on the website with that trade id

then you deleted or clear the data on the s10 and got a new trade up id
and you added an eftpos card
and now will do / done another trade up deal with the same phone?

                • @pinkybrain: Yes, i deleted and reopened the app, ran through the test, got another code that worked on the samsung checkout cart. I put in a eftpos visa giftcard with $5 left as the card which it also accepted.

In the end i didnt complete the order as i couldnt convince the wife she needed a new phone just because of the massive discount. But all i had to do was proceed to payment.

              • -2

@worthy1: I believe it's Samsung dealing with your payments. Asurion will tell Samsung that you haven't send your device, then Samsung will charge you the trade-in value. If you didn't pay that amount back or didn't send back the new device, then only you get into legal troubles. Either pay the trade-in value or return the new phone.
Btw, really curious to know who is charging the fee, also worry about what personal data Samsung is sharing with Asurion.

                • +1

@NimNim: No, the app is handled by Asurion who gives you a trade in value (no bonus added) and then the bonus is added in your cart if you add a valid trade-in code. The emails to advise hand in your phone or be charged a non return are from @asurion.com.

The email clearly states 'please ensure you return your device within 48hours or you will be charged a non-return fee of $35 to your nominated credit card' that $35 was my trade in value.

No mention of also being charged your bonus credit. Quite happy to pay the trade in value and like i said i was quite happy to send the phone in until the stories popped up of them not accepting the quality of used x number of year old phones once received, even perfectly looking and working ones. Even lost shipping even though the owners had delivery receipts.

                  • @worthy1: yeah i saw that too

there was also a few comments about them not accepting the return phones for whatever reason
(possibly people were less than truthful about third party repairs or damages in the questionnaire or maybe not)
and still charging the trade in value

does that mean they need to send back your phone and you pay for shipping cost?
or they keep the phone and still charge you the amount (which not cool)

These stories makes it less of incentive to send the phone in if you still get charged and getting your phone back.

The other issue is how much your phone worth and whether is worth possibly getting banned from future trade up deals..
With these trade up deals we are getting really good prices not found elsewhere from the normal stores or online etc..
Just check JB or online still selling these phones at more higher prices or close to RRP etc

So if they banned you from future trade up deals, is it worth the amount of dollars of the trade in phone?

Would be good to know if anyone has not sent in their phones (from previous trade up deals), got charged the fee and still able to continue with another trade up deal.

                    • @pinkybrain: Exactly, that was my concern when people were saying they werent going to send back the phone and go sell it for more on Gumtree. To me you said you were going to send it in, you got a good bonus for it, so do it otherwise they may not offer the same the next time or scrap it all together.

Just seems there is some dodge things happening at Asurion with it all. They were saying people had to pay to ship the phone back even though it says it will be returned at no cost. This means most will opt to not bother when the phone is worth not so much. Means Asurion get a phone to sell and also charge the owner the trade in value.

                      • @worthy1: The terms and conditions changed since the last deal, i'm not sure if its worth risking. T&Cs were ambiguious in the last deal, and learning that people were getting away not trading in their phones, T&Cs has been updated.

Should you fail to provide the Existing Handset to us within 14 days of receipt of your New Handset you will be required to return your New Handset to us, or you will be asked to pay back the upfront discount you received. Failure to provide your New Handset or payment, to Samsung will result in legal proceedings being taken against you to recover the device

Even though they may not take you to court, they may take your phone away.

                        • @anoykw: Not if the phone was lost in a boating accident and credit card cancelled. They won't bother to chase up for this amount. Been there and done that.

                              • @rifter: Hmm, I see that. Would be interested to hear what other peoples experience are in the coming weeks. Because I don't want to send in my phone either. If your T&Cs is the correct one, then I'd rather be charged than send my phone in.

                                • @anoykw: How did you get to your link? I too would like to clear this up. Unfortunately, this whole exercise appears to be very poorly managed. Both samsung and Asurion have had 6 weeks to come out and make a clear statement on this issue. Both have chosen to say nothing which in itself suggests to me they do not expect to charge us the bonus if we do not return our phones.

                                  • @rifter: Why would they think they need to come out and make a statement? You would assume they are happy with their T&Cs and that's the end of it. No idea how you came to the conclusion that the companies not making a statement means that no one is getting charged…

                                    • @wombat81: Which one? There are apparently multiple versions. That in its self is reason for an early explanation. Good luck to them explaining this in court.

                                      • @rifter: I'm no lawyer, but courts work on the opinions of "reasonable people". I've said it before but any reasonable person would believe that in order to get a "trade in bonus" you actually have to do a trade in. It's not rocket science. You don't need a T&Cs document or a statement to clarify that. You can't tell me that you weren't aware of the expectation to trade in your device in order to get this discount. Sure, they may not end up charging you but in my opinion there's no way you could argue in court that you shouldn't have to trade in something in order to get a trade in discount.

Anyone who's taking the gamble of not sending in their device is doing exactly that, taking a gamble. It may well pay off, but it's certainly not guaranteed.

                                        • @wombat81: A reasonable person does not expect to be so mislead by all the conflicting information put out by Samsung and Asurion on their website and by their representatives. A reasonable person expects both Samsung and Asurion to put out clear statements on this issue, an issue that has continued now for over 6 weeks.

                                          • -2

@rifter: Lol. If you were so concerned about the T&Cs being unclear, you shouldn't have participated in the agreement. Let's not beat around the bush. The only reason you have any interest in this issue is because of the possibility that you can make a few dollars out of it by selling your phone privately and not sending it in. Surprise, surprise, Samsung/Asurion haven't made that easy for you. How dare they.

                      • @worthy1: according to the terms in the app

                        1) If you don't send in the phone, they will charge you the trade up value of your phone, since that is what you got discounted in the checkout but they didn't get the phone

                        2) if you send in the phone but it is ineligible phone, then they charge you the value of the that phone (to recoup the discount you got)
and have to send you back the phone (didn't say you had to pay the cost of the return shipping)

                        3) if you send the phone and it is not as describe as in misreported e.g. defects or third party repair was done, ie you weren't truthful or reported incorrectly in the questionnaire then they will charge you misreported fee.. and according to the app on my own phone, it is the same as the trade in value. It didn't say they had to send the phone back.

Not sure if others got a a different value for their higher end phones (e.g S20 - not send in value = 200, ineligible = 200, misreported = 200 or some lower value etc). Would like to know if someone trade up a more recent phone e.g. S10 or S20, and all values showing the app is the same?

So I think (3) is why they are able to keep the phone and still charge you the trade up value fee.

I still got the screenshots of the terms condition in the app, after you finished the tests and questionnaire

If your phone has a higher trade up value, and they do (3) then it is not good

Might need to re-read the terms or ask a Asurion etc.. when they contact you.

                        • @pinkybrain: Did a little research on similar campaigns run in the US. There if your device was not has described they issued you a revised offer and you had 3 days to object. No objection they kept the device and gave you the revised offer. Object and they charged you the original TradeUp app discount and sent the device back to you.

                          • @rifter: in the app when I finished

it showed not as describe is same trade up value as the 1) and 2)
both in red value for my phone

not sure an higher end phone also showed the same 3 values

                            would like to know this..
if anyone done it and what it showed and what was your phone

                  • @worthy1: Yes, you're right. App is by Asurion, and they get all your personal data. It has nothing to do with Samsung except the code that you can use in Samsung store.
T&C states "Should you fail to provide the Existing Handset to us within 14 days of receipt of your New Handset you will be required to return your New Handset to us, or you will be asked to pay back the upfront discount you received."
Question is what they mean by upfront discount.
                    1) upfront discount = trade-in bonus + trade-in value or just 2) upfront discount = trade-in value, the one that they show you in the end.

                    • +3

@NimNim: Im really not sure what we are going back and forth about here. I can tell you what other people have been charged (the trade in value only) and i can tell you what Asurion are sending me emails saying (that if i dont return my phone i will be charged a non return fee of $35 which was my phone trade in value).

If people are concerned that they have changed it all and are suddenly going to charge you the trade-in and the bonus or send out dog the bounty hunter for the new phone then dont do the trade in.

                      • @worthy1: Yeah I saw those comment on the last deal. Even the Samsung guys told them that they don't care about the trade-in bonus. Hope they do the same for this deal as well.

  • The $200 voucher still works with the trade in promo. Even though the chat agent said it wouldn't. Didn't think it was worth waiting for the $50 coupon code to come though and test.

Got $110 for the old S9 which is quite good. Tested the app on a S20 plus 512 and the trade in was only $230 for that which is really low. Allowing for the $400, thats only $630 which is lower than Ebay past sales at $780ish (about $680 after ebay and paypal fees).

    • Weirdly it did stop working for hours during the day, I tried to buy one around 3pm this arvo and it wouldn't stack, contacted chat and they said yeah it doesn't stack, then tonight it starts stacking again, so I did it and bam stacked fine.

I dunno if they doing it on purpose or not but gogogo while ya can people, who knows when it will stop stacking again.

      • Did you manage to stack the $50 sign up code too?

        • Yep,

          $215 trade for my phone
          $400 bonus trade
          $200 chat voucher
          $50 signup voucher

          Went from $1549 to $694

          • @Narull: Lucky! I still haven't got the $50 voucher yet. Will probably only get it until tomorrow and then might be too late. Did you get the $50 via email or chat?

            • @Sammyboy: email, but I requested it this afternoon, took about an hour to showup, tough call to make if to wait or not sorry mate.

            • @Sammyboy: Offer is going till 29th.

              • @NimNim: The offer is yes, but they already stopped the coupon stacking once today, who knows if they will again (I hope not so others will get the deal, just saying they could).

                • @Narull: I'm going to try now whether it's working. Chat with a rep last hour and said it is not stackable.

                  • @NimNim: That's what's so weird, this morning it was stackable, this afternoon I tried and it wasn't and chat rep said it wasn't then tonight it was stackable again (and I ordered), I dunno wtf they are doing, part of me wonders if they are turning it off once they get enough orders through or something, doesn't seem like an accident they it was working then stopped working then was working again.

                    I dunno.

                    • @Narull: It worked! Couldn't able to get the $50 voucher but anyway $200 is fine, otherwise they'll cancel it.

                      • @NimNim: Actually got my $50 voucher. Traded in the old man's A8 for $10 lol. Easily got another $200 voucher and they still stacked together. At least he gets a new phone now too.

                        • -1

@Sammyboy: Great. The current retail price for s21 is beyond the limit. I don't think it is worth over $1000, lol. For ~$600 it's okay. Who knows the next upcoming Pixel gonna blow the s21 with a custom silicon chip or Snapdragon, and with a much better screen for less than $1000 for the base model.

                          • @NimNim: i read that Google is not going Flagship chips anymore
and mainly focus on the midrange market

so you most likely won't get the top chips in pixel 6 unless they are making it themselves
but their experience in CPU design is not as good as QUALCOMM or apple so I don't hold much hope for this

Even the current Samsung Exynos 2100 chip is still not as good as the Snapdragon 888 in these S21 phones

                            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsLJLk3nx8k

When samsung can fix their CPU heating issues and sustain performance, then they will be able to give Snapdragon 888 a better competition
and possibly only using the Exynos like Apple only using their own chips..

the Exynos 2100 is much more improved than their last Exynos, but it still not as good as SD 888.

Hopefully Samsung keep getting more better with their chips design and eventually the Exynos will be as good as Snapdragon or even Apple
but right now they still got a while to go.

Samsung Trade Up app doesn't work on iphone 8. Fails the gyroscope test then after it gives me a $45 there's nowhere to continue to receive the redemption code etc. Just the screen with the offer and nothing else is scrollable or clickable. Reset and reinstalled several times. Samsung say it's not their.problem. App on ios store is. 100% 1 star reviews (profanity) this for a joke

Same here on iPhone 8. I thought I was doing something wrong. I gave up eventually.

Is that the screen like frozen? Go to setting, reduce the size of font. Then you can click Next at the bottom

      • Thanks. It works now. Cheers!

  • I did the base model S21.
Got $400 + $200 off plus $70 for Galaxy S8+ which I'll just hold onto.
Gave up trying to get a newsletter $50. Tried calling, emailing, waiting, no success with multiple email addresses.

    • What do you mean by that you will just hold onto? Can you keap it you mean?

      Thanks

  • I can't download the app on my old s9+
Telling that app isn't supported on it, any idea how to deal with it?
Or, can I take advantage of this deal without trading in my old phone?

  • I have the S9+ and I am still not sure if it is worth the money even after the $600 voucher.
With only a trade-in for $110, plus the S21 has a lower resolution screen and no SD slot.
    Thoughts?

I came from a S9 to a S21+, 570ppi vs 394ppi and I'm completely happy. No complaints at all about the screen. The new Exynos process is so much better than the old ones and the battery life is in a different post code. I got a 256gb version so storage won't be an issue. Having said that, I got mine for ~$707. I'm not a fan of paying $1000+ for phones.

still not as good as SnapDragon 888
pretty disappointing that we can't get the SnapDragon 888 in australia

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsLJLk3nx8k

        • +1

Very little difference in real world usage. Users of both processors are reporting overheating issues in some circumstances. The Exynos 2100 also beats the 888 in some benchmarks.

        • +1

Wouldn't base your theory on one YouTube video when there are other videos with totally different opinion. The 888 vs 2100 is a non event this year. I'd be more concerned about local warranty tbh.

          • -1

@Exec-Matrix: i didn't based it on one youtube video
checked a few other sites that compared CPU
General consensus is that 888 is still the prefer CPU

The main issue with the 2100 is with sustained performance rather than peak performance

            https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/samsung-exynos-2100-vs…

            https://www.gsmarena.com/exynos_2100_vs_snapdragon_888_susta…

            throttling test and temps
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnYjmFnIJNM
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCL3I7Brr50

yeah local warranty is the main benefit
just not good that samsung gives USA the best most current CPU and international markets their own homemade one
Even other makers e.g. Oneplus uses the 888

Sure the 2100 has improved alot more than their last version but they still having issues with their heat management.
maybe they eventually get more better but not there yet..to match or beat Snapdragon or even close to apple

The 2100 is showing that they are definitely getting better at it though.

            • +1

@pinkybrain: You're overthinking it. The potential minor benefits, if there are any in real life situations, don't outweigh the issues with grey importing.

As I said before, there are plenty of SD888 users reporting heat management issues too. So there's no point cherry picking.

If you're really looking for an issue, the biggest one seems to be poorer camera performance from the Exynos S21 Ultra as compared to the SD version. Outside of that, I honestly believe all of the other differences are negligible.

              • +1

@wombat81: Couldn't have said it better.. I hope one day we get one chip worldwide so these fruitless comparisons are done with.

    • I have S9+ and cant justify it either. Too many features dropped, price too extreme even after the discounts. It does the exact same thing anyway. Only thing I dont like is battery life, seems to have gotten worse recently.

      • The battery life upgrade was the kicker for me and the dropped features are things I don't use anyway. But it still needed to be at an acceptable price point. There's no way I'd pay anything like RRP for one of these.

  • Has anyone had any trouble with a phone that has a replaced back cover? Mine was cracked so I replaced it with a different colour. There was a discloser saying its subject to inspection. I'm concerned if I send my phone away and they come back saying the back cover has been replaced etc

  • Has anyone tried if the $200 codes work on devices other than galaxy phones? Like wearables?.

  • Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment

    • Ive had this issue for the last 12 hours.

      • That error means your credit card is not linked to the trade in code. You'll either need to enter the app and provide your credit card details, or reinstall the app and try again :)

        • -3

You should put that IMPORTANT info in the first post and in future posts of deals like this
          e.g.

IMPORTANT - You need to add credit/debit/eftpos card info in Trade up app after finishing all the tests
or else you will get an error "Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment" when adding the Trade Up ID on the website during checkout

Some people here were very confused when inputting their trade up ID and was getting that error on the website.

This could have affected the ability for them to buy the phone with all the stackable codes including the $200 code before it stop working
but lucky it seems to be working again now.

          • @pinkybrain: This worked a treat. Getting $205 for my s10.

Am i best keeping the S10 and selling after?

            Cheere

            • @Daves88: Depends how sure you are that Asurion/Samsung won't charge you the bonus back if you don't send it in.

              • @wombat81: where it says they charge the bonus back?
thought it was only the trade in value?

Also another concern is if they blacklist / ban you from future trade up deals.
Might not be worth it for some dollars in profit just so you can sell it privately..
But then is prevented by doing future trade up deals for better phones released later on..

My main concern is they get the phone, reject your phone and charge you and still keep the phone.
Some people have mention this in the last deal.

BTW what you think they gonna do with all these phones?

Sure they can refurb and sell it but seems more work for them (in terms of logistic, cleaning)
and where would they sell it

They are even trading in for very old phones like iphone 6

Maybe they are just recycling some of the really older models for the parts and rare earth

                • +1

@pinkybrain: To me the T&Cs are pretty clear that if you don't send your phone back you are liable for the amount of discount you received at the checkout when you entered the trade up ID, which would include the bonus. Others are convinced they won't charge the bonus. Make your own call.

                  • @wombat81: so did you or are going to send your phone back if you bought it?

in the trade app itself it only shows that you will be charged for the trade in value
if the phone is not sent, not as described or has some faults

in the trade in value was clearly in red in the app

                    • @pinkybrain: I've sent mine back, yes.

The amount in the trade app isn't the amount of discount you get at checkout. Obviously the trade app isn't taking the bonus into account.

                      • +2

@wombat81: PMed member who received new S21 with bonus on 19/3/2021 and did not send back trade up phone. Over 5 weeks now and still no charge on his credit card for bonus.

                        • @rifter: Cool. Like I said, if you're comfortable with it, go for it. Doesn't bother me.

  • Ordered the S21 128gb for $449.00 = $1249-$400-$200-$150(note 9 trade)-$50. But I'm not really happy with some of the features of this new S21 (compared to my mint condition Note 9). The styles comes in handy many times too. The screen on the s21 seems a letdown. And no expandable memory support. I tried to cancel this order with samsung support but the order has now processed so I'll have to accept it and may be do the return process or try to sell it on the marketplace.

    • +1

why you not done research or decided more carefully before buying?
Or traded up for the ultra etc..

There's always pros and cons of upgrading / tradeup etc..

Yeah you lose some features and but you get better newer CPU and camera etc..

From what I seen of the S21, the screen resolution is not as good but for most people that is not too noticeable,
You lose expandable memory which is crap if used to this, but in some ways it is what it is, since recording in 4k or 8k may not be suitable on a SD card
And many phone companies are moving away from expandable memory (due to apple effect including not including a charger)

I think you can still use expandable storage via the USB-c mass storage option though if you need to store more stuff like movies etc..

Anyways if you sell on FB, you might make a good profit considering how much you paid for it which is better than returning it

    • I am trying to resist temptation to trade in my Note9 too…lol.
If I recall correctly with the $500 additional trade in deal that was on in late March I could have got the S21 for $399.

      • how?

This one gets $400+$200+ and possibly $50 off..

        so total is $650 off

        • plus the trade in value of your old device.

          • @wombat81: yeap forgot about that too
though the value of the trade in is pretty low compare to what you can possibly get on ebay/FB marketplace

but the other way to look at it is you are getting a total of $650 bonus + you own phone value price in money

if you sold the phone privately and buy the phone without these stackable bonus discount, then you would still be paying a lot more for the phone than what you are paying now (plus no guarantee that your phone would be sold privately also paying fees if sold on ebay) etc.

            • @pinkybrain: @pinkybrain the RRP was also lower in the last month's deal. for S21-128GB, it was $1099 (compared to this time/deal $1249)

              • +2

@NoHorny: oic..so they basically pulled the old ebay trick of upping the prices before discount

I didn't know about that deal back then or might have got it.

anyways I mentioned what I think you could do with phone
ie resell it privately may get a bit of a profit since the phone is brand new and current

Also some of the features you mention is that is disappointing is not a big deal breaker for some people
since you do get better camera and newer faster CPU and storage issue can be offset by using mass storage via usb-c etc

I don't know how quickly the 128GB will run out but a bit of my own research it should be sufficient for most people
if they don't need to keep their entire photos, video recordings and movies on this device.

I would probably just use expandable mass storage via usb-c if I need more storage e.g. travel
and I saw the phone on youtube and the resolution does not look bad, I have not seen the QHD yet but from the google review it is said to be just slightly less sharp but not too noticeable for most people.

For what we are paying for this phone S21 at approx $400 to $600 etc (depending on the trade in phone price)
this is a very good value for money considering what the specs you get with it.

Some comparable phones are iphone 12, one plus 9, xiaomi poco X3 and they each have their pros and cons but they are also much more expensive than what we are paying here.
E.g. iphone 12 64gb, only 2 cameras and double the price of what is paid here and no discount

So at this discounted price this is a very good value for money phone (and has my ozbargain heart alerted)

Saw some reviews and demo of the phone
and it looks pretty good to me since I haven't bought a new phone for a while

                • @pinkybrain: @pinkybrain, yes, cheers, thanks for your detailed response, I know its my fault for not doing "all" the research before buying. I bought this as an impulse buy thinking deal will expire soon(OOS etc) and/or Samsung will pull the plug on code stacking (and didn't want to miss out). I tried to cancel the order with Samsung first which seemed liked an easier option (and also thinking from reducing carbon footprint etc), but I knew it was too late, all good, I can still give this away to family member or try to sell it on market place (as a last resort). Also, thanks for the "mass storage via USB-C option" - I never knew that existed- I'll look into that. Also thanks for pointing out some other features, this surely seem like a good phone for the price I've paid I guess.

                • @pinkybrain: They didn't "up the prices", the devices themselves were discounted last time.
