I missed out on the Family Q a few weeks ago when it was $620+delivery (due to no stock glitches), but this is a better deal if you had no local stores from the previous deal.

  • Anyone know what the difference is between this and the 3200 premium? Is it just the temp gauge?

    • +1

Temp gauge, higher lid & electronic ignition

      • Don't you also get better warranty service buying direct? Genuine question

        • +2

We have had a couple of Webers for years, no difference in buying direct or through a reseller, even if that resellers was Masters going bust.

That said, we havent had to use warranty or service on most of them, and only needed a new gas line for the one from Masters after it got crushed in a house move.

      • For the temp gauge you can easily retrofit a standard BBQ gauge for about $10 or so.

Higher lid is the biggest advantage of the Q3200, but we decided it wasnt worth the $170 difference.

        • What bbq gauge did you get?

Agreed with the higher lid. Depends if you're cooking roast chooks etc or just snags and steaks.

Definitely recommend the grill plate though. Great for onions/mushrooms and roasting vegetables/potatos etc.

          • @muckingfuppet: Yeah, we also have an Ooni Koda and a cabinet smoker if i want to roast stuff. Went with a basic shrouded temp probe from eBay, $9.99

  • What is the difference between these and say a $199 dollar Bunnings Jumbuck? (BBQ newby here)

    • +6

      $430

    • thicker grill plate, better make + warranty.

Look up what people have said in previous deals/forums. Jumbuck will last 3-5 years before you notice rust etc. Weber will last longer, and if it doesnt, you got sweet warranty

    • Much harder to do anything apart from flat out on the Jumbuck.

Weber gives you multiple options for how you want to cook.

    • I had a Jumbuck once. I think I got 2-3 years out of it and it was not exposed to elements other than when I cleaned it down. I think it's a false economy, my next BBQ will definitely be the Weber, I have a friend who needed something replaced and he was outside of warranty, they did covered it for free. He said dealing with them is the best experience he's had as a consumer.

Things go wrong on BBQ's, the ignitors (not on this model), plates, lines not to mention rust.

Also I'm told these use so much less gas due to greater efficiency.

  • missed it again! :(
it is avalable at Myer for $670.65, however delivery fee is $75 as the nearest store with stock is 385km away :'(
