I have one on my front door, works well and looks good. Great price imo

  • Thanks ordered

  • Looks like a re-branded Yale Assure Smart Lock SL (also stated on the eBay post)
Do you know if the Yale modules will work with the Lockwood alternative, if so, great price!

    • I believe it does but you need a zigbee base

    • Not really a rebrand as such, Yale and Lockwood are both Assa Abloy, so its just the same brand.

  • Does this work with the Philips hue hub?

    • Havent tried it, we have tried it with a cheap eBay ZigBee no issues, can remote manage lock/unlock

      • it arrived today.. I have installed it.. took me about 1 hour. wasn't a straight swap as the hole needed to be larger, also the pins didnt fully match once installed and the hole in the door frame also needed to be slightliy large. aside from that everything worked well.
However I have now connected the network module and cant seem to understand what to do next as there is not much to go with in the instructions supplied.
Seems it wants to connect to Telstra Hub? I only have Alexa at home and the echo plus has zigbee.. so a bit of help to get it to do smart thing on the network would be great other wise this isnt fully smart.

        • Normally with Zigbee devices, you need to put the device into discovery mode (I don't have this lock, so I don't know how that's done), then ask Alexa to scan for new devices.

    • I don't think it's going to work.
Unless you are happy to see your lock as another light. :)

I remember people who got Hue Smart Plugs were saying it shown in the app as another light. :)

      • I mean as long as it works (even if it shows as a light) should be ok
        Otherwise cheap zigbee it is

        • Did you get the TLock? Did it work with your Hue Hub?

          • @3: wow its been a whole month! Unfortunately we havent been able to set it up yet (issues with the way our current lock is setup) but once we do will defs update you

            • @Stigasaurus: Thanks 😊 new deal was just posted for this lock and I'm trying to work out if it works with hue hub or if I need something else

              • +1

@3: This cannot be paired with the Hue hub. Hue software only supports Hue devices (and some third party lights), so even if you could pair it, you wouldn't be able to control it. I have my lock connected to a Conbee II being controlled via Home Assistant.

  • Just want to confirm before I order;

"require a ZigBee hub to operate with internet"

Does this mean if my NBN goes down, I can't open my front door?

    • +2

With no internet you cant remotely manage it.

You are able to unlock it as per normal by punching in the code

      • Thanks!

        • To add, if your hub isn’t internet dependant, if you can connect to it via wifi then even if your internet is down you might be able to connect if you are at home and still Control the lock with your phone.

For example I use Home Assistant for home automation and the app supports access locally over my wifi without going out to the internet (but that’s possible also)

      • +2

do I need zigbee to set up a pin?

      • To clarify, the Zigbee hub is required only if I need to remotely manage the lock? By remote, I mean when I'm out of the house. But I can still connect through a phone app to the lock when I am home to manage user PIN codes etc?

        • If you can access your hub over wifi, then I can't see why that wouldn't work (disclaimer - I know nothing about this product)

    • I think it depends on what zigbee hub you have. Of course if there's no internet you can't remotely unlock but you should be able to unlock if you're on the home LAN.

  • +2

anyone know if this requires a seperate zigbee module?

    • Requires the hub

      • +1

is the zigbee module built into the lock? if so i can pair it with my hubitat

  • It is advertised as a Deadbolt, but is it. Can it be locked from the inside at night to prevent entry from the Outside?

    • Yes, there is a normal bolt rotation mechanism on the back.

    • I've got a z-wave lockwood one from a few years back. If it's anything like that one then it only has a knob on the inside with no keyway.

Can't apply the code if you are not with eBay Plus

    • +1

      Deal breaker

    • +1

And if you are with ebay plus you can’t use your $50 voucher with this discount code. Ebay plus is such a ducking joke. Amazon is going to overrun ebay and they deserve to.

      • +1

True, that's why I keep Amazon Prime instead of Ebay Plus
Amazon's delivery speed is also they can not be compared

    • +1

DM me happy to help facilitate the order

  • So you can unlock with keypad or phone.
And because it's networked you could try setting up AI facial recognition unlock using a Jetson nano and camera.

    • +1

      Phone & Keypad is a Go…
No idea about the AI though!

    • +1

You can do that with most electric locks but I wouldn't recommend it. Facial recognition isn't accurate enough usually resulting in the door either not unlocking at all, or the door unlocking for a stranger.

  • Hi rep,
Currently have 2* kevo's but have been told to replace with a dead latch, not a dead bolt for fore safety reasons.

Do you have a smart dead latch available?

    • Sorry just this gear for now

  • +1

For those who are interested - the T-Lock was part of Telstra marketing some time ago for their household automation products.

It does work with Echo Plus Gen 2 units as the ZigBee hub

    • Thanks for the valuable input!

    • +1

Echo Plus Gen 1 also has a built in ZigBee hub.

      • worked with my Echo Plus Gen 1

  • +1

Can you send link for zigbee hub so that i can purchase the lock and hub.

    • We tested it on a "Sengled Element Smart Hub Z02-HUB Google Assistant Amazon Alexa ZigBee" which was $24

      • Where did you find that for $24?

        • CashConvertors for 25, 47 via amazon

        • Just checked the ebay purchase link and they don't have them listed anymore but I believe any cheapo hubs should do the job.

      • I am buying one of these for $43.65 (with something else thrown in to make it $49.00 & qualify for free shipping) . It'll hopefully allow me to connect the lock to Homekit.

        https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0828KXVGQ/ref=ox_sc_ac…

      • I've got one of these, can you please list the steps on how you connected to this hub.

I hit option 7 on the lock to join network, then search on sengled app, but it doesn't see anything.

Would like to get this connected to the phone.

        • I bought a Sengled hub as well, hoping to use it with this lock.
Unfortunately, each time I try to add it to the Sengled hub, the Lock seems to think it's been found. but Sengled app doesn't see anything.
After some time (3 - 5 minutes), the lock seems to factory reset itself and I have to set up all my pin codes again.

Have you had any luck ?

          • @Zoop: Given the pin codes are disappearing, could be a dodgy module or bad connection.

Try pulling the batteries, then pulling the red zigbee module and reseating a couple of times.

I seem to remember reading that without a module it stores PINs in the lock, but when you install a module you lose those PINs and it stores them in the module itself.

@Macks - silly question, but you did hit 1 after option 7 to join a network?

  • anyone know if i can pair this with hubitat or home assistant?

    • +1

You'd need a Zigbee hub and it should without issues (zibgee and all)

I'll let you know about HomeAssistant on Tuesday

Now when I forget my keys I don't have to crawl in through the doggy door!

    • +4

Or sleep in the dog house.

      • Money well spent!

  • eBay plus in title? I don't think that code works for non-members.

    • A little misleading, seems you need to be ebay plus to get this deal.

      • +1

        Apologies about that, updated.

      • DM me happy to assist

We got the Yale branded version of this for more than double this price. Very good price for what you get. Works great, and means you don't need to carry keys on you at all. I set up some automations to automatically lock it when we leave the house, as well as when we go to bed for peace of mind. We've had it for about 1.5 years and still sitting at 60% battery available.

    • what battery does it use?

      • +1

4xAA, and a 9v as the backup "jumpstart" battery.

  • so you use the same Yale secure app on the phone?

  • What happens if the battery runs out or stops working for any reason? Does it have an emergency key?
Also is there an installation manual somewhere online?

    • external battery hookup i believe

  • I was going to buy the Yale handleset from US, which includes this keypad. They don't advertise it as Stainless / satin chrome however, the US version seems to be called satin Nickel. Does anyone know if it's the same colour?

Also, does this one have the interchangeable module, IE could I swap it for z-wave?

  • +2

This wouldn't run with a Conbee II would it?

  • Can you replace the module with a homekit one?

  • Can you unlock the door when the zigbee hub is not reachable due to power/network/hardware outage?

    • +1

      Saw the answers above.

    • YEs with pin code.

  • +1

Anyone tried it with the IKEA zigbee hub?

  • How does the phone unlock work? Do you need to open up an app and press unlock or can it auto unlock somehow?

    • I haven't used it through the Yale app - but I use it through Alexa using an Echo Plus. The unit comes up as Yale YRD240 SmartLock

  • OP - any love for people without eBay plus?

    • +1

Yes I would love to help you out, please DM me

      • Can i get one too pls. Unable to DM

        • +4
