I have this TV from HN, I got another TV (one that did not have 3d) but because they were out of stock they gave me this one instead. So unfortunately I cannot post a receipt for it, because it is for another TV.

The 2d to 3D function works decent enough. Mine came with 4 pairs of glasses. You can use polarized glasses from 3D movies (from the cinemas) as they work just as good as the glasses that came with the TV.

    PROS that are not above:
    1) Because it is tied to the network you can use your phone to control the TV. I have an Android App that can control most of the functions on the TV.
    2) it has an option to use skype on it. Unfortunately compatible video cameras are rather hard to find (if anybody has a tip for a cheap one I would appreciate it a lot).
    3) it is compatible with AllShare from Samsung (I think AllShare is DLNA so it is normal that it should be) meaning I can play movies and Music from my Galaxy S2
    4) It has 2 USB ports, you can pause live TV if you connect an external HDD to it (please read what external HDD drives are supported because the USB might not power all HDDs). The other you can connect a HDD with movies/music/picture and the TV will play the movies directly from there. But do read bellow on the CONS.
    5) I personally

The things I had problem with:
    1) it did not properly play movies from a DLNA server on the network. It might just be that I did not configure the DLNA server properly, it was NOT the application that came on the DVD of the TV because it was a Linux server and the application was for Windows. I did not try with the Windows application.
    2) Sometimes the movies from the attached external HDD will have problems. Sometimes the screen freezes for 3 second and afterwards it will skip to the next episode. It always happens in the same place so it might be a file problem. When this happens just skip a few seconds ahead and it will continue the series.
    3) not for all movies you have the options to fast forward or jump ahead. It depends on the format of the movie I guess.

As you can see all the cons are related to movie playback with the internal decoder. If you have a media player none of my CONS above relate to you.

Overall I am loving the TV.

If you have any questions just message me.

You should have bought it in December. I bought the 47 inch with 3D bluray and a stupid $150 popcorn maker for $1055 after cash back. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/60221

      • Yeah your right, that was a much better time to buy.

No point in getting this now being a soon-to-be old model.

  • Its a runout model and stock will be limited.

It was far cheaper last month ($696 Good Guys) and even had $100 cashback.

    This price is just average.

Better to wait for the new model coming out.

It wont get cheaper because there wont be stock of it soon

    • The 100 cash back was if you bought over a certain amount AND got a LG blu ray, or something like that. Not just on the TV. I asked about it, i bought it 800 Christmas sale, great tv.

      • Thats right. So you buy a $149 blu ray, get a $100 cask back and the price was just $696 for the TV then as well.

Great buy at that time. Now, not so great unfortunately.

  • hi guys, im in the market for LG 3D LED (because bright living room, LED better than plasma)
but for 50" or 55". anyone can share where to get it (cheap) ?

  • This is so weird, the Samsung 40" gets 50+ positive votes but this LG version which is 42" gets 1 positive votes only. Isn't this LG has similiar specs to the Samsung?

    • If this LG was down under $700 I would take it over the samsung. they offer 3 year warranty with LG, and this tv looks really nice in the brushed metal. great picture quality too.
