      xiaomi.eu is your friend

      • Will google pay work if i use this rom?

        • Yes, out of the box.

In order to use any custom ROM, including Xiaomi.eu you need to unlock bootloader. Google Pay does not work on phones with unlocked bootloaders due to Google security requirements. How do I know this? I've tested it myself months ago on my POCO X3 NFC.

        • if you depend on google pay then stick to a stock rom. there are work arounds using magisk but they periodically fail due to updates by google and you could wake up without use of your app until a fix is released

i quite like miui. better than stock android

      • Same. I am not a fan of google stock rom as well.

I found that a decent launcher makes a difference

      • IKR who doesn't use Nova Launcher etc. at a minimum these days.

      What's so bad about it?
I had the earlier Poco X3, and thought it was alright.

I seriously don't get the hate towards miui. I admit it has some bugs here and there and this is some problem, but typically they are fixed quickly. The whole rest is just awesome! It's clean and elegant, lets you have a drawer or not, allows you to use android buttons or iPhone gestures, has just tons of configurable things that others don't, monthly security updates, neat integration with other Xiaomi things like smart home and much more! I definitely prefer it over Samsung's one UI and HTC Sense. I have mi10t, first Xiaomi phone and I am super happy with it.

    • I own poco X3 nfc 6/128, very pleased with it, purchased thru Bandgood no issues.

I have one issue that you an experienced user may have a work around.
It's the notification light, being so small I frequently miss it, where as with my old HTC Ultra I never missed notification.
      thanks in advance

Yeah, the notification light is too tiny to be usable. I personally don't use (or need) it. The only workaround I know is to install a custom ROM that supports Ambient Display. Your screen lights up when you receive a notification in this mode. It's not the most elegant or efficient solution as this phone doesn't have an AMOLED screen but the feature is there if you need it.
I should point out that installing a custom ROM isn't for the faint of heart and requires one to jump through several hoops, the most difficult (IMO) being the mandatory 1-week wait for a bootloader unlock request to be granted by Xiaomi.

        • MIUI has the wake up on notification feature built in, source: I've got a Poco X3 phone in front of me that does that…
Unless you are talking about something else.

          • @OpayuOnam: I believe that they are talking about a persistent way of being alerted about incoming notifications.

@albert0pia: I see, well one of the downsides of LCD is no always on display… The turn on the screen for a few second upon each notification does fill that void for a bit.
For me it's not a big issue either way we I've got a watch that reflects the notification I care about.
