My God, have you tasted that "stuff" it's absolutly terrible. (even my kids refuse to drink it)
i doubt i would take any even if it was free.
Coke zero 'standard' is amazingly better tasting.
At least Normal (mega sugar) Coke Vanilla is good too

    • Even though it tasted very bad. Good price still prof Snape

    • +5

I love coke vanilla but hate coke zero. Dies it have more of the vanilla flavour than the zero/non-sugar flavour?

      • +1

So agree Coke zero taste so weird same goes with pepsi max

        • +1

I got used to it after a while. but normal coke still taste better.

    • I was bagging the product not the deal.

Have any of you folks that negged me actually tasted Coke Zero Vanilla?

      • +3

I have and I think it's great. I love both Coke Zero and Vanilla Coke though.

      • +6

It's like a snowball mate…. once you get a few negs, there are some lemmings on this site that will neg you just because others have (without actually understanding why).

Plus voted you because I completely agree… vanilla zero tastes like crap, but zero on its own and vanilla on its own tastes good.

Still prefer plain old full strength coke though.

      • +1

Surely a neg vote is just a way of showing that you disagree? Or do I have it wrong?

        • -1

Comment posted by someone else already

    • +4

Why is everyone negging this comment? there was no neg vote on the deal? or are opinions not allowed on this site?

      • Because he/she admitted to the worst bargain of all time - kids. ;)

      • -2

People here, and in my experience Australians on the internet in general, are really intolerant and whiny.

        • +3

just out of curiosity, what nationality are you?

        • -1

lol a racial attack on a cocke zero bargain thread. way to pick your fights mate.
also, what nationality doesnt whinge, mr supreme race?

      • +13

I think it's because of the free comment. Any ozbargainer who refuses free stuff, even if they don't like is going to be negged for all it's worth.

There are only 3 rules on OzB

        1. Never Refuse free stuff
        2. try to get a better deal than another ozbargainer
        3. Never get jv mad
        • i dont know where you got #3 from spawnpoint:p, i took a screen shot of a random member telling jv where to go, makes me laugh everytime

    • +6

I completely disagree with your opinion on Coke Zero Vanilla (I like it), but I'm upvoting your comment anyway because, what the hell people? Are we really negging people now just for having a differing opinion on the product? Discussing the deal and the product is the whole point of the comment section. If we're allowing comments that are nothing more than saying "I like this", how is the opposite any less valid?

      • I don't know if it's common practice but I vote for or against comments as a quick way to show agreement or disagreement with the view espoused. It's all opinions as you say so no should take real offence at negatives.
I'd add that here I've taken no position as I've never tried this formula, though for a buck might give it a go like the cheapskate I aspire to be.

        • +3

I may have overreacted a little… I'm sure I've probably been guilty of voting that way once or twice in the past. Nevertheless, I still prefer to save my negative votes for the truly stupid comments ;)

    i love this stuff!!

  • My local Coles also had stock at $1 each (NSW based). Guessing it's country wide. :)

  • Never had coke zero, how does it compare to regular coke? Haven't had vanilla coke in years either.

Will probably pick up a few bottles later in the week.

    • +3

My advice. Pick one. One. It's a good price but coke zero vanilla is not what you would expect from coke vanilla. It's like apples and oranges. Both are fruits yet they are different.

    • +3

Never had coke zero, how does it compare to regular coke?

Coke Zero tastes like any other artificially-sweetend beverage to somebody who doesn't drink it. Absolutely completely and utterly foul.

I never ever drink such things. I'll take it unsweetened, or drink water thanks.

    • +3

don't try coke zero unless of course it's free ;)

Coke vanilla is the best soft drink I've had after Dr Pepper(that's right, I like Dr Pepper but not coke zero) and Mountain Dew and maybe Welch's Grape Soda

      • +2

        +1 for Mountain Dew

      • +1

You seem to have a similar taste as me in soft drinks, so I think I'll only just buy one to try.

        • wow, 3 people on ozbargain that like dr pepper :O

      • +1

Dr Pepper is great, as long as it's Dublin Dr Pepper with real sugar, not high fructose corn syrup.

Edit: Which I've just learned is being discontinued! Damn it!

        • UK version has real sugar

      • Cherry coke? Definitely my favourite… But not favourite enough to make me pay $2 a can for it in aus :/

    • +2

Full strength coke is still the best, but if you dont want all the calories, zero is a good alternative. Doesnt taste as good as full strength, but not as crap as diet either.

And of course it tastes a hell of a lot better than anything pepsi offers (and thats why pepsi is consistently cheaper on the shelves).

  • +2

I love this as it almost tastes like full strength coke…better than regular Coke Zero too.

  • +1

i think it's nationwide, since my coles sells them at that price too

  • Wyndham village, Hoppers Crossing had the clearance but none left

  • Saw it at the Windouree Coles.

  • i will check my local Coles after work 2moro
    thanks

  • I'll have to check my Coles. Hope this doesn't mean the product is being discontinued, I need my vanilla coke fix without the sugar.

    • I'm pretty sure it's says 'limited edition' on the bottle so it's probably is being discontinued.

  • +1

Check that it's not close to the use-by date.

    • Mine is May 2012

    • Thats a good point as i had a can coke zero once that tasted really wierd.
When I checked the use by date, couldnt believe it, about 3 months over.

Maybe my 'coke zero vanilla' was "out of date"… lol……

This would go fantastically well with the new Vanilla Mars.

    • Ooo..I've yet to try a Vanilla Mars..Nice idea :)

  • had loads left at my coles but just got 1 in case it tastes like crap

  • Its nationwide, coles posted it on there facebook page today

    https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=277592955638060&set=…

  • It's alright, Coles Seymour has 30-40 boxes…

  • Got one!1!!one!one1.

My take- starts off really nice and vanilla-ey, but as you let it swirl in your mouth, the coke zero taste starts seeping in and the aftertaste is fully coke zero. I'd give it a 5/10 on the coke zero to coke vanilla scale

  • i had a brainwave when i was lookint at the $3 bottles of vanilla coke one day, just after i had been down the cake isle. i thought why not get a bottle of vanilla essence and add it to the coke or pepsi or watever, tried it and gotta say its pretty good. bottle of artificial vanilla is like $1.50 and lasts like 15-20 bottles. works for me :)

    • This is what I do too, although you have to be careful — when you add the vanilla, it makes the Coke Zero froth up like crazy. I was adding it to the 450mL bottles (from the 7/11 giveaway last year), and had to quickly put the lid back on to stop it from going everywhere. Don't know if this happens with regular Coke, or just Coke Zero.

Still worth it though — plus, you can add as much vanilla as you like :)

  • Yes try almond extract, that might be interesting, I rarely buy softdrink, but on occasion I buy the 1.5 LA ICE COLA. Not bad stuff, I think it is usually under a dollar.

  • Quite a bit left at Coles Port Adelaide (SA) last night - in the things at the end of the isle. Thanks OP :)

  • Well, there was space for it at my local Coles (Northgate) but all sold out.

  • Got some today.
It is OK, but I always preferred lemonade with my icecream float.
Why don't they sell vanilla Sprite?

Yesterday (4 Feb 12) at the Camberwell Coles (VIC) I went to, I noticed that the price tag implied that it was running the stock out. I subsequently bought all 28 bottles for myself. None were left when I returned today (5 Feb 12).

At another Coles (Toronga in VIC), the price tag said it was $2.xx but I just grabbed another 15 bottles and went to the cashier armed with my iphone pics of the prices etc. She just said that she knew it was $1 and processed all of them at that price.

Please note that Coles currently has a sale of 4 for $9 for these bottles (unsure if 1.25 or 1.5), just ignore that and grab the Coke Zero Vanillas for $1.

From MY perspective, this is the equivalent of 24c a can and was pretty much a 'must buy' for me as on average I get them for about 63c if I buy the boxes of 24 x 2 for $30-$32. Yes, yes, I know that bottles are different to cans but that is how I break things down. The next best price I have gotten was when 2lt bottles were 5 for $10 a month ago. This made it the equivalent of 36.5c per can. This deal right now is even better.

    Regards
    Daniel

  • Three weeks later and it is still $1 for 1.5lt Coke Zero Vanilla. I bought another 20.

This will take me a few months to guzzle through.
