Do the filters have to be changed regularly? I've had my dyson stick vacuum for 2 years now and haven't changed. Just clean every few months.

They are washable but yes they need to be changed regularly as they clog up with dust. You will get better suction with a new clean filter.

      • i routinely tap it out, seems to dislodge a lot of the dust. washing seemed to do worst since it seemed to cement the dust particles together ?

The manuals are not clear but I personally tap them out after every couple of uses and wash them about every 2 months and replace every year. This also depends on how dusty your environment is. You often don't notice how clogged it gets and there is usually a pleasant surprise of increased performance with a new filter. Considering how cheap the filters are its worth servicing once a year to maintain optimum performance and longevity of your device.

        • Fully agree with this. Dyson manual tells you to wash and dry. That is poor advice. Turn it upside-down and tap it against a wall or hard surface. All sorts of crap pours out. Never wash - it makes an awful smell if you do that.

Anyone else thought these were nerf darts at first? lol

Coincidently, I bought them on Friday and were delivered on Saturday.
The rubber seal isn't as strong / tight as original Dyson.
As such, suction power and effectiveness of the vacuum cleaner is much reduced.

Yeah, I had these on my wish list but held back due to reviews such as yours. Thanks for confirming

I don't buy the original ones anymore.

Rather buy these and replace them more often.

Ones they start to clog (even the original ones) suction is being reduced.

    • So is your spending :-)
