OK I reckon not, because I just checked and Google One is billed through Google Play store, which is probably different from the Google Store.
EDIT: and it doesn't look like there's any option to PrePay.
HOWEVER, now that I look at it, it seems like Google Store may also bill through Google Play because it seems to all come through the same pay.google.com history… not that I'd buy $100 worth of Apps and Movies… but I do wonder whether that would still somehow make eligibility.

Could be useful for anyone who wants two of the new chromecasts with Google TV and already has a netflix subscription/wants one.
It equates to: $219.99 (cost of pack) less $30 cashback, less the 6 months Netflix subscription value of $95.94. Not automatically but yes. I bought one of these a while back, once you go through the setup process it emails the address you used to register the Chromecast with a link to redeem 6 months of Netflix.
That link works just like any other gift card; can make a new account or add it to your existing one.

Some reason statement credit didnt apply (ordered on the 11th May). I have had to chase AMEX about the promo they tell me the transaction was ineligble. I have now forwarded my Google Order detail to them clearly stating it was done on the Google AU store.
Just experienced the same problem. Suspect it is because Google Store is using "Google Pay" and they (AMEX) haven't setup to track that properly. Already talked to chat and lodged my investigation.

Had to make 3 (polite) attempts through AMEX chat at getting my credit and on the 3rd occasion I asked to lodge a complaint and they agreed to manually make a balance adjustment.
Combine with $25 off using targeted coupon
