  • Brought one, many thanks OP!

    • +20

      Is it heavy to carry?

    • +2

Where did you bring it from?

  • I'm so tempted, will it be better for me as I'm gaming PS4 pro via 65" Aldi the ATM! Lol

Should I just spend more and get the 32"?

    • For sure.

    • +4

PS4 won't output more than 60 frames, so not sure how much advantage you'd get out of this. Colours and response time may be better though.

  • I already have a 1440p 144hz monitor and I was looking for 2 peripheral monitors. Would this be a good option? A couple people mentioned there would be a scaling difference but I'm not sure if scaling can be changed independently between monitors. Would 1080p look bad next to a 2k screen?

    • i recommand bigger screen for console (even its the same resolution), the main selling point here is 144hz, so not much use for consoles.

      • My bad I should've specified, I'm on a pc

        • EDIT:
The below advice applies to the Q not the F; so ignore this, but ill leave it up for the education.

          Probably not.
These are BGR screens, not RGB.

There is zero issue in games, or on pictures, but text can be a bugbear, and thats what most people use peripheral monitors for.

          • +1

@MasterScythe: If you have monitor arms (VESA mount) you could probably just mount them upside down and flip the image in graphics driver options - that'd make it RGB.

      • New Xbox and PS can use 144hz.

    • it really will depend on your tolerance…i used to have two different monitors side by side and even when they’re both at 1080p the difference in colour gamut and brightness were noticeable and annoying!

    • Same setup I have, I quite enjoy it
Middle is 1440p and sides are 1080p

      • Oh nooo, went to get it after reading your comment and it's OOS :(

        • Ahhh RIP =( there will always be another deal, never fret!

  • Got 2, hard to argue with the price.
Might be a tight squeeze fitting them on the desk but I'm willing to try :P

  • +9

    If only it was 1440p

    • +6

Thank you for saying this. I wasn't paying attention and read the 144Hz as 1440p. Almost pulled the trigger.

      • Me too actually

      • Yeah I'm after 1 or 2 new monitors and thinking 2 X 1440 27s or a Ultra wide. Can't make up my mind, this would be ideal if it was 1440 but I don't think I want a 27 with 1080

    • Just bought this for gf https://www.centrecom.com.au/viewsonic-vx2718-2kpc-mhd-27-16…

seems to have just come out, previous 1080p model seemed to have good reviews so I bit the bullet and am hoping it takes after the previous. $300 seems pretty ideal for this these specs, wouldn't mind if anyone had any input

      • I'm in the market for another monitor and was considering this until I noticed it was a VA panel. If I was getting a standalone monitor this would be great but considering how it would stand next to my ips monitor I decided to not get it

  • +2

Literally just hooked mine up that I bought on sale 2 weeks ago from Scorptec for $249 rip. PS5 detects HDMI as 4k@60

So far not disappointed even if I could have saved $50

    • +1

Does your PS5 detect 120hz with this monitor?

      • +2

        Detects Black Ops running 1080@120

        • +1

          Excellent. Thanks for confirming :)

  • pulled the trigger.

  • Does anyone have any experience with this specific monitor? Price looks really good for the specs and Im looking for a second 27" monitor.

  • Anyone know if KVM works with Macbooks?

    • +2

ya it does and works with iPads too - they demonstrated it in the video I linked in the description

Didnt mean to crash OP's post, but looking at the website, this RAM might be a decent deal https://www.pcbyte.com.au/p/adata-xpg-spectrix-d41-rgb-ddr4-…

  • Heya! Just a noob question. I'm thinking of buying this for my daughter. The main purpose would be school work and the occassional Roblox game. She has a MacBook with the M1 chip. Everything seem to be a go, but am I missing anything (cons)?

    Thanks in advance

    • this refresh rate is not good enough for roblox

      • Thanks Cheapskatefish

        • +3

for a genuine answer to your question, the refresh rate is more than enough for roblox (144hz is actually on the high end). roblox is capped at 60fps by default apparently

        • +5

He's not being serious. Roblox (without using 3rd party tools) supports 60fps max or a max 60Hz refresh rate to put it simply. So a 144Hz monitor would be more than enough.

Edit: Beaten by skido. He's correct ;)

          • @Clear: HAHAHA! Got me. I had a feeling this was the case 8).

          • +1

@Clear: who tf needs 60hz > for robux anyways

  • OOS :(

  • Nice, awesome deal!

  • Sold out. Congrats to anyone who got one. Price is great.

    1080p 27 inch. Dont expect a sharp image/text

    • +2

On an ASUS 27" @ 1080p and everything is sharp. Perhaps an eye test? 😜

      • +1

I dunno I had a 27 inch 1080p monitor once and the text is all broken up. maybe it has something to do with windows scaling on my end :/

        • +1

You’re actually correct here, especially for this monitor. PPI is bad @1080p on 27” monitors, also these are BGR monitors not RGB as mentioned above which isn’t good for reading text.

        • +2

In my experience, it really depends how far away you sit from the monitor. As mentioned, this is a BGR monitor so text looks pretty crummy by default. My nephew has a BGR monitor and when compared to my RGB monitor, the text look's very different.

Sitting <40cm away and you'll see the difference at this size and resolution. I personally sit a little over one meter away with 20/20 vision without any issues.

  • I heard that, China just banned Gigabyte, politics aside, I would expect more cheap products from this brand.

  • It's showing in stock? But at $369? Is there a promo code involved…?

    Edit. Auburn only…cmonn other stores

  • +2

They just called and cancelled my order even though I got an order confirmation last night, and proof of payment receipt from them this morning

Can't say I'd recommend them after the experience.

  • +1

Purchased yesterday. Cancellation email received earlier today citing an inventory error. No sign of the actual refund yet… Poor show PCByte.
