identical looking ozito heat gun is $79

  • These would not work with Ozito battery, would they?

    • i looked at the images of the batteries they sell and the connectors look identical (but no digital display). no 'id' contact (whatever that does)

    • They are compatible with ALDI workzone, XFINITY batteries, which is half the price.

      • How much are those batteries?

        • +1

The normal price for 4Ah ALDI batteries is about $40. When they are on special, it's about $30 to $35. They came with 7-segment LED to indicate the percentage upon button press.

          • @fatice: Thank you!

          • @fatice: The new norm for 4ah is $50 going by past couple of offerings. They should make hem 5ah for that price increase!

i just tested and confirm they work perfectly with aldi batteries.

worklight has a high/low setting and 5 year warranty. bargain for $10!

      • Does the worklight have a focused beam? or does the beam spread a bit?

        • +1

          spreads

          • @c64: thanks

          • @c64: can you post pics/videos of the light on at night etc?

want to see how bright this is.

  • I bought the polisher this afternoon and it was $63.99. As stated above, it works with the Aldi batteries.

    • Wondering if it's any good?

Bought 2 today. I immediately connected my bench power supply and found it turned on around 3v, albeit at reduced output, and light output at 12v was around 99%. Interesting!

I also noticed the battery slide was separate. I opened the back and it's held on with 4 screws. Short of 3D printing an adaptor for Milwaukee or whatever, I do wonder if the manufacturer offers alternative adapters! I've emailed the importer asking. I won't hold my breath waiting for a positive response.

Does anyone know if these lights are marked under different names either in Australia, or anywhere for that matter?

  • hmm, I have some leftover cheap Ozito battery budget chargers, I wonder if I could turn this to mains powered light? Im guessing chargers supply a higher voltage but if I connect a buck converter inbetween and tune it down to 18v I should be all good?

    • It produces a decent amount of light at 12v. See my previous comments.

      • Found another old ozito 12v battery charger that outputs 13.5v so that should be perfect then!

      • Yep, anything with enough current supply, between 10v and 22v will work. Only draws 20W, so at 10v that's 2 Amps. Less as you increase voltage.

Picked up the light and compressor today from my local today. Only 1x light in stock and no heat gun (no biggie I guess, barely use my corded XU1 as it is).

Only unboxed and used the light so far but very impressed with the light for just $10. Don't own the Ozito but can't imagine it being that much better. Found shipping is $5.95 to order the light from another store so ordered a 2nd. Happy with it even at $16; still half the Ozito PXC special price too a while back.

    • can the compressor run off car 12vDC or is battery only?

  • Looks like that sold out quick. Nothing left within 50km of me.

Still one unit left on ebay though https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324328933221

  • Their online stock status and click collect system is trash… my order has been "processing" since Sunday despite showing in stock. Went in store today and they could not even find my order. So now they have to contact head office to chase down my order and some stock as they now have sold out while the website still showing in stock for my store..

    • Explains why my postal order is stuck processing then. Wonder if they are even getting any more at all. These are like EOL style prices.
I don't mind waiting but it has to be for something, eventually.

      • placed an order at bathurst store last night for c&c, received a ready to collect email this morning.

so at least one store has stock lol.

  • Got light and compressor from North qld store. Now just need to figure out how to get batteries? there is no Aldi near me :(

    • get an ozito pxc adaptor referenced above then pick up batteries from Bunnings when they price match ALDI

      • I was seriously considering this approach. Gumtree dude wants $47 and Samsung 4ah is $80. So technically one 4ah ozito would be $97 and would be slightly bulkier due to adapter. Decisions, decisions, I hear ozito is the preferred eco system to get into here on ozb though and with not having an aldi nearby might be my only choice.
