[Pre Order] DualSense - Midnight Black $109.95 ($49/ $64 with Trade-in), Cosmic Red $119.95 ($59/ $74 with Trade-in) @ EB Games

260

EB is having a trade-in deal for the 2 new DualSense color version.

Pay $49 if you trade in standard white DualSense or $64 if you trade in a DualShock 4 toward Midnight Black (109.95).
Pay $59 if you trade in standard white DualSense or $74 if you trade in a DualShock 4 toward Cosmic Red (119.95).

Personally Im gonna trade in my old DS4 4,5 years old which I got for free from my friend which is mainly using for PC and stream from PS5 to my Ipad.
Also I paid $108 for a preowed Demon Soul + a preowed DualSense from other trade-in deal from EB couple weeks ago, quick look at FB market place a preowed Demon Soul ~$60 so I got that preowed DualSense at ~ $48, + $49 or $59, = $97 or $107. Roughly $13 cheaper but I will get a brand new DualSense.
Ordered both one of each color.

That red is gorgeous! Definitely opting for that as it's unique. Now need matching side panels…

    • Personally I prefer "Spider-man" bright red but this color is pretty nice as well. Just a bummer that they dont do 4 color buttons anymore with the Black.

Real question is, would these models have the stick drift issue resolved?

    • +1

Probably not. I believe it uses the same joystick module as the PS4 and Xbox One/Series controllers.

    • Do the white ones have stick drift??

  • For anyone that's done this prior, do you just bring in the DS4 controller, no box / cables?

    • +1

      Yes, just the controller.

      • Thanks mate will venture in to EB over the weekend.

      • Will they even accept a controller that's been shined to a nice finish due to 8 years of use?

        • +1

Tbh just visit the shop to let them take a look, they might reduce your trade-in value little bit but as long as its still in working condition. They didnt check mine when I traded-in which is start having minor drift issues.

@linhlink: I took 2 Xbox One controllers in this past Sunday to take advantage of the 50% trade value deal. They didnt test either, but they put a "refurbishment" on them of a few dollars (1-2 I think) that reduced the value. I dont know if that would reduce the value offered here though as its set by the deal?

No box needed Im sure, not too sure about the cable but I dont think they will ask for it because when I got some preowed controllers, they didnt come with any cables.

  • Bugger! I got DS3 instead.

  • I need to trade my PS5 controller. The back button got damaged in Fifa when they made the buttons have haptic feedback

    • No warranty?
R2 on my dual sense has just failed thanks to Fifa. Just sent it back for Repair.

      • Will they repair it and not say normal wear and tear

        • They offered a refund and I was more than happy to take it. Ordered the black colour this time.

  • ah if only I didnt trade 2 DS4 last week.
I wonder if I can just get it back using zero regrets policy and trade it against this

Genius business model by Sony. First release a hideous white controller, wait a few months, then release a decent looking black model that everyone will buy.

Now all they need to do is fix the look of the actual console.

Hm, okay value, Amazon will eventually have the red one for $89, so don't see how losing a controller for $10 is worth it, unless you want it RIGHT NOW. $59 is where it's at. Trade value is poor.

  • God, the black looks infinitely better than the standard white. Can’t wait until they release a black console to go along with it.

    • Yea it does look better, although I don't think I'll trade in my white one and pay $49 on top just for black hey. Will wait till I need new controllers prob

    • Not until you can walkin and grab a white ps5 at anytime.

    • You can just buy the white console and spend an extra $20 on some black faceplates for it. The console's significantly less horrid-looking in black.

      • You'd have to buy the extra controller, too. And that's if you can even find a console. Hopefully by the time Sony comes out with a black model, the stock issues will be mostly resolved.

  • Is there an expiry date on this? Cant really trade my controller in now without having the new one in hand

    • "Limited time only, see instore for more details"

Probably last for awhile , or untill no more stock.

  • Huh wonder why red is $10 more however it looks amazing… hate the trade value for a dual sense but I hate white controllers lol.

  • Can you trade in multiple DualShock controllers and only buy one DualSense?

    • It will be $64/$74 minus value of normal DS4 trade-in value, the first one is technically $45 but its a deal value.

  • does anyone know when third party controller (ex. Nacon or Razer or even just strikepack) will be released?

I'm just buying a black controller outright, not going to bother with any trades. My white dualsense is practically brand new.

Given EB were ultra slow at delivering PS5 preorders, I can't see why anyone would preorder a controller from them.

I'm going to wait & get one from JB or Amazon…

  • midnight black for me, I like red but not this type of red.

    • +1

2 black ones for me, to add to the 2 white ones i've got. Would've got the red, but it's not really red at all. Would've preferred a blue colour instead.

  • +1

Be aware the red isn't a dark metallic red. It's more a magenta.

Check images of the controller in darker and brighter lighting, you'll see what I mean.

  • Is this deal still available? Can't find the link

    Level 4 member.

    Traded in 1 X DualSense and 1 Dualshock 4.

    Paid ~$105. (Including a $3 refurb fee)

Got 1 Red and 1 Black

For those playing at home, I paid $53 for my white dualsense and $45 for my Dualshock.

Tried eBay first but used prices on controllers are really low, especially after fees.
