Boost Mobile $300 240GB 12-Month Prepaid SIM Starter Pack for $225 Delivered @ simcardsale via eBay App

880
PAPPSS

Original Coupon Deal

I was looking for a long expiry SIM starter kit for my mum with free unlimited international calls to a specific Asian country and found this deal to be better than all the Boost Mobile deal. Buy it now price is $245 with free delivery from a seller in Parramatta NSW. Note that I am not affiliate to this Ebay seller. Use Ebay coupon code PAPPSS for $20 discount that'd reduce the final price to $225 at check out. This works out to be $18.75/month with the equivalent of 20GB of data/month plus free unlimited international calls.

I also compared a few other options on whistleout.com.au and found a few acttractive offers at $15 with 40GB of data but doesn't come with unlimited international calls as Boost Mobile.

Here're what set Boost Mobile above the other offers:

  • UNLIMITED INTERNATIONAL standard calls & text to 20 selected destinations:
Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, USA, Vietnam
  • 3600 standard mins to 30 selected destinations:
Afghanistan, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Kuwait, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, UAE
  • 3600 text to standard numbers to any country in the world
  • Stream Apple music data free

Please note this is a sim starter kit / not suitable for existing Boost customers. Best to port out to Aldi or something cheap for maybe 7 days then port back?

Shouldn’t it be $225? The coupon code that I see is PAPPSS via app

    $245 - $20 = $225

    • Thanks for this. Didn't know about this Ebay code. $225 is a far better deal!

  • How long from when you buy the starter pack must you activate? I just ticked over another month with Aldi but have been waiting to jump over to boost.

This particular eBay seller item description said: "Activate before 10/2022"

Can I keep my current Optus number if I switch to this?

    • +1

      Yes.

Why some people neg this honest question is beyond me.

lol someone negged you. Here take my upvote!

Whatever you do DON'T cancel your Optus number before activation. The process of bringing your number to another company is called PORTING. You just supply your Optus number and account details to Boost during activation. They will do the rest for you.

      • Thanks!

  • Thanks Op, just bought one!

  • About time they did this !

They probably got sick of everyone else flogging their own product, cheaper than buying from them directly

    Great find OP

  • just a heads up, girlfriend and i had a nightmare experience with porting our numbers to this service from Kogan Mobile…. if u still got credit with your old plan, i say start trying to transfer early to this plan, as it may take a week to get it done :'( (i'm still trying to get my GF plan online with her old number…)

    • I transferred from Kogan without any issues and it went smoothly. Just make sure you cross check all your details when transferring sims to avoid any hiccups.

  • just a question, at the moment I am on Woolworths prepaid for 12 months using Telstra network. if I buy the boost ( Telstra network) would it be a no-hassle transfer? thank you.

    • +1

Porting from the same network can be a hassle. It's worth picking up a $2 Voda Sim and porting twice.

      • thank you machej I will do that. I am new to this kind of thing and not sure what to do and how to do it.

  • Expiry or due date to active it before?

    • already asked and answered above.

      "Activate before 10/2022"

It's out of stock though :(

  • OOS, missed out, was watching for one of these!

  • It's a good value Sim plan, already got my family into this plan. My own plan is expiring on end of June and wanted to give 5G a try, is there any ozbargain favourite plan for 5G experience?

    • unless you are on postpaid.. there isnt any 5G plan!

      • Yes looks like most carriers have the postpaid plans only with the mobile device attached

      • I thought vodafone prepaid has 5g. Please correct me if I am wrong.

        • +1

I don't think you will have a full experience testing 5G if you're going with Vodafone network as their 5G network is still using cascaded transmission from their existing 4G transmission links with a single 10GB link back to a router that connected back to their exchanges at only 1GB. Whereas other operators had gone beyond the 10Gbps transmission backhaul. Not sure about Telstra but lots of Optus sites has had 20Gbps backhaul transmission end to end from the base station all the way back to their exchanges since last year. Vodafone has lack of spectrums to transmit and they also don't invest enough money in upgrading their transmissions network fully for the customer experience.

    • What are you planning to use 5G for? 5G tech is still currently immature beside the marketing gimmick of ultra low latency for VR gaming and with theoretical Gigabit download speed - unless your 5G handset is within 1km in clear line of sight to the 5G antenna then 4G network is still far superior in coverage and many times faster than your average 100MBps NBN connection

  • If I'm currently on this boost plan - can I buy this so I can activate when it ends?

    • This is a startup kit for new customers only. What you can do is to port to another mobile network such as Vodafone or Optus using their $2 sim then you can port back to Boost mobile using this kit.

      • +1

Is there a minimum duration which you have to remain with another mobile network before porting back to Boost to be regarded as a "new customer"?

        • I’m also interested in how long it takes.

I ported out of boost today to Optus, and tried 15 minutes later to port in with a Boost Sim starter pack and I got an error. (Ambitious I know 😛)
I’ll try tonight a few hours later.

Hopefully I can do within a few hours, not days, as I’ll have to get more credit on Optus than the $10 minimum requirement. It would kind of ruin the discount a bit.
(I bought a $200 sim kit for $141.04 with an eBay plus discount in April).

It’s been a bit fiddly and time consuming to transfer. My port to optus failed and required live chat for 30 minutes with multiple secure forms for ID.

My tip is to make sure you have spare time and energy to transfer.

          • @CafeNervosa: Please keep us posted on your progress and updates. I'll be very interested to know what it takes to successfully port out and back into Boost again.

            Cheers

            • +1

@asiripong: @asiripong I was able to port back in last night to boost about 5 hours after I’d ported out to Optus prepaid. It took less than 10 minutes to complete the port back to boost from Optus prepaid at 8:00pm.

Thanks to OP for motivating me to find a new plan, as my 12 month discount with Circles.Life ends soon. They have some very attractive sign up offers, but I really can't be bothered with porting my number out and back again.

I ended up going for the 150GB Boost plan, $155.39 with the PAPPSS discount - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Boost-Mobile-200-150-GB-Data-1-Y…

Slightly higher cost per GB, but this fits my usage a lot better, so I should actually end up using all of the data before it expires.

  • I bought one now because it's ozb and keeping it for later whenever required

  • Has anyone had theirs ship yet?

    • Mine is apparently shipped but I haven't received it in the post yet.

      • When did you order it? I ordered mine on 10am Tuesday and it's not even marked as sent.

        • Order placed 16/5 at 4:55pm.

          Posted 18/5 from Melbourne south.

Tracking today at 5:30 am says its in Sydney south (I'm in Sydney inner west). 🤞🤞

  • You could get this plan for 225.15 if you pricebeat this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/623588 at officeworks.

  • Thank you OP, just got this for $220.50 using Coupon Code PLUSES10 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/624898). Maybe worth updating the deal?

  • I just tried to buy one and it says wrong code. Is the code still active? Thanks

    It says code expired
