Been a while since this one has been at this price - especially with the new RRP of $199 (bloody lego!) - a good way to get the powered up packs for other builds or convert your hogwarts train or lego city tram.

I was waiting for Amazon to price match but they seem way too slow. Seem to be lots of stock in Vic at least. $7.90 postage if you need it sent.

Can recommend adding the https://www.lego.com/en-au/product/light-88005 light set for this at a later point.

Use promo code 10DOLLARS to bring the price down to $109.20.

When I add it to the cart, it says “free shipping over $65”.

    • Thanks .. guess I'll be returning the one I ordered in store on the next trip to the shops. Greatly appreciated WookieMonster (what a great username…)

  • Lego city tracks are also on special at both bigw (looks to be removed) and amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/LEGO-City-Tracks-60205-Playset/dp/… for $17.60. Although if you buy a few of these you wont need the additional track.

  • Also activate your offer at the everyday rewards app, they are running 5x rewards points so you get another 550 points

    • That sounds like a targeted offer. I have no Big W bonus points offers in my ER app.

Wait…So you don't even build the train?

100 clams for a kid to spend 5mins clicking together a few pieces of track?

    • +1

..No? The train is made of about 500 pieces.

    • Still have to build the train and carriages (takes about 30 mins) … but there are only so many yellow trains you can have running around on the track to entertain the grand kid. The carriages are good, but Im using the motors from these for other builds from like the lego crocodile and a few of the lepin and other knock offs. Its a PIA trying to get the motors out all the time.

Isn't this the thing that will sell out and LEGO should start feeding the demand for better profits before they decide to spend their dough else where ?

  • Thanks so much OP. I've been seeking a deal on this set for months now. I'd be surprised if Amazon doesn't match it soon, but hopefully my BigW order will be fulfilled. I got free shipping from BigW anyway, so I'm happy to go with them.

    • Amazon have matched now. I did a chat with them about half an hour ago to ask and they said they don't match, so I bought it at BigW. Just checked now and the price has dropped.

      • Yep, I just got a Camel3 alert for it. The BigW deal was still cheaper using that $10 code though.

  • BigW have 20% off all Lego?

  • Arghhh . I have 80% / most of this Set , from a big stack of 2nd hand lego I bought once. When I built it, I was missing the Motor and battery , and buying those 2 pieces alone (2nd hand) was going to cost me $60 + shipping…

With the brand new set only $109, there's definitely no point completing my set in an attempt to sell it completed :(

    • Yeah, I've been tracking this set for a while. You often seen them on ebay where people have ripped out the power functions and are just selling off the pieces.

    • Yeah the motors are what people want. You could buy this and make an awesome long train though.

  • Thanks op. Reduced to $104.20 when purchased with a 5% off gift card via NRMA app (free membership from another ozb post). (couldn't be bothered doing that for the additional 9.20 but would bring it lower to 103.74 if I did)

  • Thanks OP. Ordered click and collect ahead of my daughter's 8th birthday this weekend.
