Samsung 75" Q70A 4K UHD QLED Smart TV QA75Q70AAWXXY $2695 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys

90
MAYHEM

Lowest price for this years model to date I think. Deductions also available on 55,65 and 85. Similar pricing to the X9000H. Appears to have one HDMI 2.1:
55 inch - $1705
65 inch - $2155
75 inch - $2695
85 inch - $4495

Cashrewards also available for an extra 5% as per spirrowhacks comment

From Rtings as a comparison to the X9000:
The Sony X900H and the Samsung Q70/Q70A QLED both perform well, although the Sony delivers somewhat better picture quality. While the Samsung has a higher native contrast ratio, the Sony's is still quite high, and it has a full-array local dimming feature to improve black levels. The Samsung has a lower input lag and comes with VRR support, while the Sony doesn't yet have it but will receive VRR in a future update.

Samsung appears thinner and has a centre stand which can help in some cases.

For delivery depending on location may also work out cheaper here at $2,721: https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/samsung-75-inch-… which also includes 12 months Kayo or Binge

  • This is 2021 model against 2020 model so the pricing dont really align. The Sony should be compared against the higher Q80A if anything. The Q70A is a lower class of TV with no FALD.

    • Prices are the same so the the pricing aligns pretty well.

No point comparing to Q80A unless you have a higher budget. I do agree with the sentiment though that the Sony is probably a better picture based on spec but haven't seen the Q70A in person.

    • And the ~$2,500 Hisense Q8 which also has FALD

      • $2270 here: https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/75q8-hisense-75-inch-ser…

No HDMI 2.1 though and different OS etc. Consensus here though seems to be if not gaming the Hisense is a better option than the Sony for the price. My current tv is a Hisense in the older software and it's horrible and doesn't support a lot of apps. I assume the newer software is better and supports a lot more though

Don't forget cashrewards. I bought an LG G1 OLED earlier today using MAYHEM through cashrewards. 5% off through cashrewards and MAYHEM is a supported code.

  • Samsung TV support apple airplay?

    • Yep

  • gotta link?

  • Thankfully no features have been stripped from this model this year's. Still 120hz panel and hdmi 2.1. Keep in mind Samsung tv's don't play nicely with plex, been an ongoing issue for years now.

Absolutely no point buying these TVs when the Sony's are similarly priced and are leagues better

  • may be irrelevant for here, but it's 2.4k Inc delivery for those working at a company with a Samsung partnership program.

  • Can we pay with gift cards and still get the cashback?

    • I would like to know.

Terrible TV from my experience! Bought a 65inch Q70A from the first lot of 2021 TV models, last month from my local JB, only to return it after 2 weeks. Major issues with upscaling and contrast compared to Series 8 and 9. Had Samsung series 9500 earlier (Curved screen). Finally settled with LG OLED 55 BX for almost the same price. The difference is quite significant in every aspect.

  • Bought the Sony today myself in JB for $2695. Some of the comments above made the decision on which to go for easier

  • I called goodguys online and was told that if you want to use gift cards its a maximum of two online but they will do four over the phone. Given that I won't get shopback if I buy over the phone, I guess I will do 2 giftcards.
