  • All of my sunbeam electric blankets failed after some light use. I have stopped buying this brand for years now.

Have two sunbeams, 3-4 years old. Both used regularly and are fine..

I had one fail after about a year, but realised it was because I-and-others often sat or layed on it. Then later found that it says in the user manual not to sit or lay on it.
The replacement hasn't failed in years.

    • Mine had the controller fail and sunbeam still havent replaced it 3 months later

I found mine great during COVID when I didn’t want to run the heater for the whole house.

  • Link doesn't seem to work and I can't find it by searching on Amazon.

That said, anyone have any recommendations for one that can start in the on position after a power cycle? Want to put a timer on mine to warm my bed but they all default to off with a power cycle, not their last setting.

Edit: odd, seemingly at random the link takes me to the page (out of stock though) or a picture of a dog saying something went wrong.

    • When I click onto it - it says temporarily out of stock. But here is the David Jones Link

    • Does it have to be a throw? I have a Sunbeam electric blanket that’s a few years old, plugged into a Kogan smart plug. I turn on the plug from my phone app about 15 mins before bed and it turns on, which switches the blanket to its last state (1h heat, and whatever temp I last had it at). If I’ve forgotten to turn off the smart plug previously, I can just turn it off via the app, then on again. Works great. I haven’t tried it with the throw, which we use for the couch, but I’d think it’d work similarly.
