    Not available in China

      • +35

Well that went right over your head didn't it :)

        • +9

I’m curious though. Is that stuff available in China? Or is that only for export

Edit: why downvote me for asking. I actually don’t know much about the availability of Winnie the Pooh in China :(

          • +1

@ChadHominem: You can get anything in China, just if you know where to look. Usually it’s from websites that are even more wholesale than taobao, but I don’t even know where to begin because I’m too amateur to go any deeper than taobao.

      • +4

why negative vote to the taobao link?

        • +5

Because craigmate's comment was a joke and the URL wasn't needed, as well as the attitude.

        • -1

Because China haters don't wanna admit their outdated lame meme is based on fake info

        • +11

          Because truth hurts

        • +5

I up voted… for the education value.

        • +8

Cause they don't wanna know the truth. They just wanna live in their so true journalists. Being a Chinese in Aussie I am really getting used to that.

You Should have learnt this at kinder.
Winnie The Pooh is available in every Chinese Disney store.

    • +3

      Mainlanders do be downvoting.

      • +7

You'd rather Xi over Morrison, really ?

          • +12

@Chchnu: "Xi looks after its own people" your choice of pronoun for Xi amuses me!
But joke aside, yea true depending on the definition of "own people", if the CCP members are Xi's "own people" then I guess there is some truth in it. Does that include all civvy, in particular those who oppose him though?

          • +1

            @Chchnu:

Whereas in china i assume they do less of this so the citizens have a choice to do charity or not to a cause they want

Ummm, are you trying to bad mouth Xi and make him look selfish?

            • @Ughhh: Thats around $2 per person hence i said less.

              • +1

@Chchnu: It sounds like he's trying to appear generous in helping developing countries, but you're trying to say he's the opposite? Should we believe you or the Globaltimes?

                • @Ughhh: Globaltimes.CN

                  • +1

@Chchnu: So we should ignore what you said earlier?

          • +4

@Chchnu: I think people in Australia would not agree to utilitarian. They would rather have an elected government whose interest is in the political donors and only need to keep 51% of population happy to be in power.

          • +7

@Chchnu: That attitude of look out for yourself instead of looking out for the community and our neighbours is why Chinese mainlanders are scorned in Australia.

They are selfish and look out for themselves. This culture was spawned from the Mao era, where he starved millions to death, so naturally Chinese society grew to look after themself first.

Every leader after Mao never helped China, only helped the CCP members. They only helped the lower class people if it benefited themself.

It's no surprise now why the free world looks down on China.

            • +4

              @Blitzfx: Agreed completely

            • @Blitzfx: Shouldn't the individuals have the choise to help via donating to charities they want? The point is when government starts looking out for other countries, the taxpayers of the country are forced to contribute the that donation.

Government uses the people's money and therefore should 100% but spend on the country internally. Leave the helping others as an option for individuals to decide.

              • @Chchnu: Collectively when you participate in society, you sign up to the way our government operates and how we deal with international allies and foreign relations.

You can alternatively not participate in society and live on a farm, and make your own electricity, grow your own food, and collect your own rain water and be 100% isolated, living off welfare.

Who we look out for is another discussion, such as donating to CCP scum or North Korea humanitarian aid.

How we use tax payer money is up to everyone to decide, which is where democracy comes into play. You can lobby and rally people to make change, unlike CCP scum, which is 100% dictatorship.

If you can't make the change or convince enough people to join you, then it's entirely possible that you're the odd one out and you're the one carrying the fringe and extremist beliefs.

      • As long as Scotty follows the orders from News Group and the U.S. president, He will be fine.

      • There’s plenty to be critical of for both Xi and Morrison, and I can’t stand Voldemort either (though I actually think a lot of his views would be aligned to many within the CCP). Australia and China are very different countries with different cultures and notably population sizes.

Realistically a lot about how Australia is run, for most things comes from advice from government departments The secretary of each government dept probably has more/as much influence on policy than our elected representatives. I imagine this is similar in China through different mechanisms. What is it that you like about living in Australia? (presuming you do since you’re on ozbargain).

    • The king doesn’t like it.

    • Still made in China ?

  • +45

    President Xi only $5?

    • +4

Super value. You get a children's toy and evil dictator all in one.

        • +9

This isn't the place for such discussion. Look up: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Uyghurs, Organs for starters. Over and out.

            • +2

@salin: “It’s not about the facts, it’s politics”

            • @salin: This is not the forum. PM if you want.

              • @jdr: This is not the forum for your lies, Let's talk about facts.

                • +5

@salin: What facts? That everything the Chinese government say is correct?

                  • @SEasternCry: if you knew how to do the research properly instead of just following western main stream propaganda, you can find the facts & truth

          • -3

@jdr: Western Civilization used to represent the pinnacle of human endeavour.

Now its all just a bunch of countries spreading Q-Anon theories, eternal lies about Iraqi WMDs and Uyghurs and spreading Falun Gong batshit theories about Organ harvesting. Why can't you be the West that Hong Kongers believe you are instead of a-hole racist liars.

            • +2

@xinyi: Maybe stop being the bullies of Asia, unless your want to get cracked in the head by USA and friends aka Australia

I loved how much he helped the world when he banned domestic flights from Wuhan yet still allowed international travel from Wuhan. Praise the CCP, comrade.

  • +4

I asked my Chinese friends and they don’t think Winnie the Pooh is insulting Xi. They actually think it’s cute and making Xi relatable to the younger generation. So all the China haters have been doing it wrong all the time. lol

    • +6

What your friends think don't matter, what matters is what Xi thinks via his reactions. I'm sure he doesn't need any regular Joes to defend him.

      • +2

how did u know that Xi doesn't like it though?

        • +1

I didn't say whether he liked it or not?

          • +1

@Ughhh: If he doesn't need any regular Joes to defend him why would he care some regular Joes insult him?

            • +1

@CharityCase: How did you know the regular Joes are insulting him?

      • -6

What Xi has done for the country is light years ahead of Scotty from Marketing and Lord Voldemort from the seat of Dickson, Australia has always being just a lucky country run by second rate losers.

        • +5

Then why are you in Australia?

Not everything is about money, but when you come from poverty, I can see why you would see money as everything, even more than basic freedom. Whatever floats your boat.

          • +1

@Ughhh: I didn't come here by own choice, and staying here wasn't by my own fruition.

            • +4

@xinyi: Are you old enough to travel by yourself prior to Covid?

            • @xinyi: We hadn't noticed :)

          • @Ughhh: Did you just assume this person is from China because of an ozbargain username? Then i guess people can generalize you as an Uyghhhur muslim from your username and comments.

            • +3

              @Chchnu:

Did you just assume this person is from China because of an ozbargain username?

If you read correctly, I said

Are you old enough to travel by yourself prior to Covid?

Did you just assume that means "return to your country", because of hisher username so its the only place to go?

            • +2

@Chchnu: If you understand Mandarin, you can easily figure out this user name is kind like "信义" or "新一" as it's very common combination of Pinyin. After all, his logic 100% perfectly fits what a standard mainland Chinese has😉

      • +1

It’s funny that you think the dictator of the second most powerful country in the world HAS to react to some random joes internet meme. Lol

        • +2

          But he did? Lol

He didn't have to. Nor had to censor local (in China) news, or ban Google, FB etc.

    • We don't care what your Chinese friends think about this, we in Australia use Winnie to insult Xi because that's what he asks for and that's what Aussies give him kthxbye
