how's the sound quality on this?

Very good. Comparable to my Bose Soundlink Mini 2, which was close to $200 a few years back.

  • I have the model above this one (soundcore motion +) and am happy with the sound quality that comes from it, its nice and loud and has decent bass, from what I have heard this one is pretty decent as well but hopefully someone with this model of speaker will be able to give you some first hand experience.

I'm assuming just a copy and paste from previous model?

That's what's on the webpage but mine came with a USB-C cable. Great speaker. Only downside is it's slightly slippery if you hold it in a certain way.

  • Apparently the 2020 model has taken away the Aux input. Sadly a dealbreaker

    • And added USB-C charging. I suppose good for people who'll use this just for their mobile devices.

This is what I wrote the last time around, and is still valid.

"You can certainly crank it up without losing clarity, I find the bass to be good enough without using the BOOST button (maybe it's the type of music I listen to). The battery life I've been impressed with so far - have played it for 4-5 hours on certain days, and the lights are still on 2-3 (out of 4). So I think the stated 12 hours is pretty accurate, but budget on 10-12 hours in the real world. This replaced my deceased JBL Flip 3, and I found the two to be comparable in terms of sound quality."

Someone above mentioned the Bose Soundlink Mini 2, which I also have. Personally, I don't find this speaker to be quite in that league, just to reduce expectations a little!

  • For around the same price you can get the Tribit Maxsound Plus. https://www.amazon.com.au/Tribit-MaxSound-Bluetooth-Exceptio…

Both are great quality just different sound profiles, the Anker takes a little EQ tweaking to sound great.

Tribit has 20hr battery life & AUX cable port if that matters to you.

If you like to research well before you buy see below this is a great in depth review of both.
