ANZ First Credit Card - 0% p.a. Interest on Purchases for 12 Months, $30 Annual Fee Waived for 1 Year @ ANZ

20
  • 0% p.a. for 12 months - Only Pay min monthly due
  • Annual Fee $30 - REFUNDED in first year
  • Minimum Limit - $1000

While the better deal is ANZ Platinum https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/625115 as it gives 17 months interest free but consider this

  • If you plan to close the card in 12 months to not pay the annual fee in year 2
  • If you don't feel confident on being approved for a 6000 min limit on the Platinum

The ANZ rep on chat confirmed that there is no "catch" :)

    Title says 12% p.a for 12 months

    • Fixed. Thanks

  • I struggle to see how banks are giving savers <<1% yet think that charging 12% interest is a good deal

    • OP has the title wrong…its 0% interest for 12 months. But then reverts to the standard rate of 20.24%….

    • Sorry typo 0% fixed now.

If you're paying any interest on a credit card you're doing it wrong.

    • Typo fixed. 0%

  • I have always been a bit confused with 0% interest on this many months deals. How dose the deal work ? I pay my credit cards in full every month and never paid any interest. Dose this mean I can wait a year to pay my credit card instead of paying every month and still pay no interest? Also not sure why I would want not to pay for a year and than having to pay the full amount together ? It would be very helpful if someone can explain how this is a good deal as I am not seeing any upside beside needing to pay in a year instead of monthly.

    • Great for big ticket purchases. Buy a something with 3-4k and pay off conveniently over a year.

      • Usually when I tried to pay large amounts on card everywhere they ask for 1-3% ,,credit card surcharge( car , uni fees etc

        • That's how they offer it interest free.merchant fees
