  • "…THE ULTIMATE SINGLE ORIGIN SPECIALTY COFFEE. GENTLY ROASTED TO BRING OUT THE BEST QUALITIES OF THIS NATURALLY DELICIOUS ARABICA BEAN."
So is it Sumatran beans or Arabica beans?

    • +2

      I think you’ll find it’s both!

    • +1

      Hey boonhowe
The type of bean is Arabica and they are from Sumatra.
      Which basically means…….super delicious 😋

      Hope that helps.
      Cheers
      Dan

      • +1

Ah okay. I'm actually looking for Sumatran Robusta beans, to make good ol' Singapore Kopi (with condensed milk)

  • I’ve never understood “body” in coffee.

    • +7

Kind of like “texture” or “thickness” or “mouthfeel”
SickDmith. Comes from a good mix of oils and sugars in the bean. They beans need to have the right natural properties and then the body evolves through the roasting.

      Hope that helps.
      Cheers
      Dan

    • I don't understand any of it, I buy only beans like this when I see them on OzBargain. I'm very sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and the cheapest I could find from Woolworths. Might have to do a taste test one day.

      • Oh, you could tell. If by cheapest you mean the half priced old stock. The ground store brand is good.

        • I'll grab some ground store brand next time I go to the shops, I will run a double blind taste test for myself and the wife haha

  • +2

Been buying this every few months now and really happy with it.

    • Great to hear droodle. Thanks for sharing.

  • Are we able to delay roasting/shipping until next week?

    • Sorry Chuppa no delays on the deals.

      • All good, Dan. Going to be interstate for the week for my birthday and was looking for something extra fresh. Ordered anyway :)

        • +1

Hey thanks so much chuppa. It will still be super delicious waiting for you to return 👍🏼👍🏼

          • +1

@AIRJO CoffeeRoasters: It's it good to rest beans anyway, why do people demand them fresh

            • +4

@sanur: They do indeed develop more and more flavour over the first 10 days or so.
If we get them to you as fresh as possible then we figure each individual can make their own mind up about what’s best for them in terms of resting. 👍🏼

              • @AIRJO CoffeeRoasters: Does this flavour development also apply to ground coffee or only whole beans?

                • +1

@ohyesss: Hey ohyesss - yea it does. The development or “degassing” is faster however when it is ground given the larger exposure of surface area.
Best to rip into the ground coffee strait away.

                  Hope that helps.

  • Oh yesss. Been waiting for this.
    Great coffee and great service.

    Hey Rep. Love your coffee!

Have you ever considered changing the design of your coffee bags? One thing I notice each time I get a 1kg bag of coffee is how ugly your packaging is.

Improved packaging will likely result in more sales

    • +4

Haha love your honesty as01 and certainly don’t disagree. Have been a few months in the making and due in a couple of weeks. We’re on it 👍🏼

      And thank you.

      • +9

Packaging is perfect don't change it

        • +1

The zip lock mechnism is the best I have ever had the pleasure of using, seals easily, truly and surely each and every time.

    • +8

      Look is fine to me

    • +10

What's wrong with the packaging? It's black and white, everything is clear on the front, it seals well and feels like a proper quality bag. I actually find it refreshing that isn't trying to shout for your attention. It knows it's top quality coffee and sits there all confident in its self worthiness.

      • I like the packaging to o. It looks nice on the shelf

    • -1

      I said the same haha.

    • +2

Airjo seems to be one of the few roasters with 1kg resealable coffee bags, most other 1kg bags don't seal up at all

    • Feels a bit unfair to have this negged, I agree that the packaging is kind of plain. However that seems to be the norm for specialty roasters (look at others like Coffee on Cue, Simply Beans, Cleanskin Coffee Co - just some I have purchased).

      • +1

This would win a design award next to Coffee Snobs' packaging!

  • +1

Love your work! Just turned on an alert for Airjo today and now this, was meant to be

    • +1

That’s the coffee universe in full swing!!

  • I guess I'm finally trying Airjo…

I unexpectedly engulfed the last of my P&R last week and, although I usually have a sub $30 trigger, the next decent OzB deal was gonna be the winner for me 😂 I forgot just how bloody good Porter St is, so hard act to follow…

    • Hi miracle and thanks so much for giving us a try.
      We sincerely appreciate it.

We also love a good challenge and look forward to hearing how AIRJO goes for you 😁

      Thanks again
      Dan

    • Yeah Porter St is a good one, but I only buy when they are 50% off. I usually pull the trigger at $20-$25 delivered/local pick-up Ozbargain deals for a kg of freshly roasted beans. Out of coffee now and not many deals on, so might give this one a try.

      • Thanks nubzy. Appreciate the opportunity. 👍🏼

  • Ordered!! Tbh I haven’t tried any of your other blends - initially I’d ordered just coz it was discounted, and now this is the only blend I order. Lol

    • +1

Haha thanks so much b0nd. No need to change. Your on a winner we think 😁

  • -5

My last order was sent to Tasmania incorrectly and I didn't receive any follow up communication or help, so I'm gonna pass this time.

    • Sorry to hear we didn’t follow up jopiter69. Please accept my apologies. Did the coffee arrive in the end?
Did we discuss a remedy or did I just leave you hanging?? Apologies again.

      Sincerely
      Dan

        • Ok. Not the greatest outcome I agree. Pleased it arrived all ok in the end and hope it was worth the extra wait. 👍🏼

        • +4

Your original comment is misleading - the coffee still made its way to you and a week later. Sounds like they resolved their mistake quickly.

  • What's the cupping score?

    • +1

      Hey Booloo.
All our beans are specialty grade 80+
      100% Arabica
      100% Organic

      Hope that helps.
      Cheers
      Dan

  • Noooo, I just ordered Sumatra last week :/… Good coffee, highly recommended.

    • Ahhh timing sometimes good and sometimes not so much :(
The good news is you are enjoying it before everyone else 😁

  • dammit. i just finished my last bag and bought beans today ;\

    • +1

Ouch! Here for you next time Moses 👍🏼

  • I bought these last deal and really love them. Keep up the good work!

    • Thanks so much drakarn_123.
      Really appreciate it.

  • Almost out of my last batch; perfect timing. Fantastic coffee for espresso and cold brew!

  • Great stuff askvictor!!
Thanks so much for the feedback.
Really good to hear you are enjoying it.

    Thanks
    Dan

  • Ordered again, great beans!

    • Thanks jshopper 👍🏼

  • Luckily, I checked OzBargain just before I use the 20% off code on the website, 40% off deal was the 1st on the page, what a miracle!

  • Hi Rep, what's the best way to store your beans, glass air tight jar or the supplied bag?

  • +1

    Great question.
    Recommend the supplied bag.
Keep it sealed (it’s resealable) and in a cool dry space.

Beans are super fresh so the valve in the bag will be helpful over the first week.

    Thanks for asking.
    Cheers
    Dan

  • Darn.. sumatra again =/ no airjo for me next month!

    • +1

Freestyle16 we still have 20%off other blends for you if Sumatra is not your thing. Use code SAVE20 on the others.

      Hope that helps 👍🏼

  • Ordered 1kg to give it a go.

    • Really appreciate it wazza23 and keen to hear how it goes for you.

      Thanks so much.
      Dan

  • These haven't been "processed" by an elephant, have they?

  • +1

Thanks OP, ordered. First time trying this blend. Looking forward to those jelly beans!

  • These are great coffee beans. Usual specialty coffee beans are $45-$50 and for ~$30 this can't be beat.

  • I missed the jelly beans in my last shipment. :(

    Great coffee though. :)

    • Thanks for the compliment Slava. 👍🏼

  • Ordered 1kg to try. Hope it goes well with almond milk

    • Thanks so much for trying faisan.

  • Got this last time but I am looking to try something a bit more stronger for flat whites. Should I try Saratoga this time around Dan? Or any other suggestions that you may have?

    • Hey gadgetfreak28. You may find the Enterprise more to your liking. It’s a great blend and we use it in our coffee van for all types of brews.

      Hope that helps.
      Thanks
      Dan

    • Was going to get 1kg but this comment made me reconsider so ill go with 500g.

  • I bought 500g of this last deal to give it a whirl.

I'll be buying a kilo in the morning.

    nuff said.

    • Lol. Love it!!
      Thanks Miso 🙏

  • Hi OP, new to coffee making here. How long is the “best before” on these. I will be drinking 1-2 coffees a day. Thanks

  • +1

Hey there Heebz and welcome to your new coffee adventure:)

You will have no problems with a “best before” on these. We roast fresh daily and they will last well last your 1-2 coffees per day.

Keep the beans sealed in the bag they come in and cool and dry.

Reach out any time you have more questions.

    Cheers
    Dan

    • Awesome! I’ll order now!

  • How do these compare against the lime blue coffee ? I haven’t tried many but I tried the lime blue coffee Peru single origin once and am stuck to them. If any one can compare these to them? They are definitely cheaper when on special .

    • +1

Lime Blue is my go-to when their deals come around. Phenomenal coffee, and rarely beat at that $25-28 mark.
