Considering cashback isn't eligible for purchases using gift cards or coupons, it's better to get the 5% cashback on the 500 dollar ebay gift card from ShopBack superstore.

    • What's this deal you're referring to? I can only see 3% off in the shopback superstore.

      • Swap cards are 5%. Swap for eBay after purchasing.

    • Cashback is ineligible on purchase or redemption of gift cards

These guys are total amateurs. Another Jamjar waiting to happen.
With Cashrewards, at least cashback is eligible on purchases paid with gift cards.

      • A little harsh for a Tuesday evening, but fair is fair DoctorCalculon. This is true, they are ineligible via gift cards but we're at the start of our journey (like CashRewards – and every business – once was), are based in regional Australia minus funding or the perks of years of growth and unfortunately, that sometimes means we can't deliver on gift cards etc…..yet. I appreciate the question and I'm keen to hear any feedback or ideas you may have.

A little harsh for a Tuesday evening

Maybe it was a tad bit harsh.

I get that you guys are just ramping up.

But here is my take, and take it with a grain of salt. We already have two big cashback mobs - CR and SB.
If you are a new company in the affiliate marketing scene, you have to offer CR and SB customers something these mobs don't offer for them to bite.

In this case, you have increased the cashback rate for one store for 2 days but at the same time added more restrictions.

Also, don't be like SB and decline large cashback transactions even after they have tracked. Word gets around fast.

  • Cashrewards, shopback, and now kickback?!

How many of these things do we need…..

The more the better (assuming it's good)

      • The competition between affiliate marketers might be good for us, but in the end the more common people using cashback becomes the less cashback we'll get anyway as it gets factored in to every sale and spread amongst more customers.

      You forgot JamJar.

Needless to say, they'll need a lot of upfront capital to compete with the likes of CR and SB.

Unless they have a significant feature that differentiates themselves from the major players, I can't imagine why anyone would signup for an ostensibly identical service.

      • Jamjar shutdown earlier this year I believe.

      I remember "Fightback!"
      (I feel old).

Don’t forget Moneybackco/StartHere and Qwibble two of the originals.

Looks like the tracking technology is a little more rudimentary, doesn't support Mobile browsers or the eBay mobile app. Desktop site only.

You won't get cashback if you:
    Purchase from Coles on eBay
Shop via the eBay mobile site or the eBay app
Purchase Cars, Motorbikes, Boats, eBay Motors, Travel, Services, Gift Cards, Vouchers, Coupons, Stamps, Tickets, Coins, Money, eBay Plus Subscriptions, Gold Bullion, Non-Profit, Charity, and Real Estate
    Use coupons or promo codes
Return, exchange or cancel purchases as cashback will not qualify

They have huge action only if gift cards permitted .
Without it only ill-informed shoppers who don't know where the best rate is :)

CR supposedly guarantees cash back, does Kickback?

    • -1

      does Kickback?

Nah, mate! It kicks you back to the kerb if you ask too many questions. :-P

    • No kicking to the curb required. Unless it's fraudulent, but alas, that's another story. To answer your question possumbly, we do our absolute best to get our customers cashback but no we currently do not guarantee it. Almost always it pans out okay, especially if you reach out to our customer service and an actual human will reply and help you. Sometimes a merchant won't pass a cashback claim various reasons – in this case, we often step up and pay it ourselves in the form of a cashback commitment.

Thanks for the clarification, although often leaves a huge hole in any guarantee.

Some merchants and cashback providers are sailing very close to the wind of consumer law imo. Only two things should be required to make merchants (and by association/advertising - cashback providers) honour their inducement - which is clearly what cashback is: (1) evidence of clickthrough (2) evidence of purchase within a reasonable timeframe after the clickthrough

  • upset with jamjar spent heaps never got any cash back yet. the proof will be in the pudding. has anyone actually received cash back paid into their bank account yet report back here?
