Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Pot 1L $23.77, 600ml $21.67 (Were $49.50) + Delivery (Free with $30 Spend) @ Di Bartoli

290

Winter is coming! Time to get into cold brew coffee with some modestly priced equipment.

Hario MCPN-14CBR Cold Brew Pot in a variety of colours! I got it in red (it's faster).

"An elegant and effective way to produce quality cold brewed coffee at home. What's great about cold brew? It's rich, smooth and contains less than half the acids of traditional hot brew methods. The Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Coffee Pot is also simple to use.

Available in 600ml or 1Lt"

Plenty of other toys available under their sale and clearance menu to push you over the $30 spend threshold for free standard freight. Some look a bit expensive - but you'll find something.

Cheapest Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Pot that I could find on Amazon is $30.96.

Happy shopping/caffeinating!

  • Cheaper at Kmart I'm guessing

    • You might be guessing - perhaps in the good ole' USA? Even 'Catch' want around $40!

      • No I meant Kmart generic, see lots of comments below.

Ah! So NOT a Hario Mizudashi then.

What benefit does this have, over say a cheaper kmart example?

Quality of the filter maybe? Can't comment on the K-Mart one but I have the Hario and it's great.

      • The filter is extremely fine on the Hario Mizudashi. The problem with the Hario Mizudashi is the basket is sort of small so coffee won't be that strong.

      • +1

I have the kmart one, which is why I asked.
It works fine, so not sure what the extra $s gets you .
Its a 1L glass jug with screw on lid, with suspended filter attachable to the lid. The end result won't taste any different

Made in Japan vs made in China?

      • -2

That's worth double for a glass 1l jar?

        • +2

          Yes.

        • +1

Honestly if it means I get to support a super old proper Japanese company and Japanese made product, yeah its worth double.

I paid around $25+ for my Hario cold brew kit years ago (when the exchange rates were better) and everything about it is just pleasant.

The box, the instructions, the stirrer and even the clarity of the glass.

          No regrets whatsoever.

    • I have the Kmart one and it works great.

Im using the 1L one. Its great

I would have associated cold brew more with summer than winter personally.

      Bloody North Oztrailians!

It's Lockdown4 in Melbourne - we need to CHILL.

Yeah, I know, but lostinmelbourne would be so last century…

It really wasn't $49.50 - it was $27.xx for months. Still a price drop.

Thanks OP! Bought 2 for $42.79 free shipping.

    • Thanks supercheap… (wtf?) added to description!

  • What happened to my comment.

There are some really good Hario prices in here. The 700mL V60 decanter set is $48.27 (usually $60 discounted), and the electric Buono gooseneck kettle $149 ($200ish).

    $33.95 now for the 1L

    • Yep. Looks like the Mizudashi is no longer in the 'sale and clearance' listing.

      I shall expire the post…

Very annoying seller. Waited for over a month with no shipping status, then I had to message them and finally started to get message saying it was on back order, then again no news for days, and then they said they were following up with the supplier, and then I got a message saying my order has to be cancelled and if I want a store credit or refund.
Poor form Di Bartoli, will never purchase from them again!
