What does the cold weather have to do with webcams?

OP probably referring to the WFH pandemic period. These stuffs are in high demand.

Not sure if its been mentioned before, but you can also just use your old/current Android mobile phone as a webcam too:

I find the quality is pretty decent since it uses the phone's camera

I just ripped the webcam out of my old laptop :D

I just disable my video during phone conference with the "having issue with the camera, already report it with IT" excuse

        Too bad, I work in IT… -_-

  • Ah damn, and I had bought the one at Officeworks (C920) for about $20 more only a couple months ago…and this one looks to come with a mini tripod too.

    • Was it on sale? Officeworks is showing the C920 at $169.

I price matched then got a further 5% off.

    • Haha I bought one from amazon for $150 last week. ffs

    Thanks OP :)

  • Different brand?

    • Yes, that's a different brand.

Logitech C922 (and it's predecessor C920) are the best rated general purpose webcams - especially in their price range.

      • Any insights as to whether any of the yumcha ~$50 cams (1080p) are good? I was watching a YouTube video yesterday comparing a heap of them, all cheapies from Amazon, but many of them are not available any longer.

Tweaks in OBS se to be able to improve image quality quite a bit, compared with out of the box.

  • Thanks OP. Bought one. I was also offered $10 off to purchase via the Amazon mobile app.

  • Nice, I paid $158 originally then $127.
May have to put in a price protection claim again.
My precious 20$ yum cha one was rubbish, volume was registering very low, no one could hear me.

  • Pulled the trigger, hope it works with Google Chromecast tv for duo video call

  • will wait for it to drop to 100$
