How does their bill cycle work? I want to try it for a month and then cancel.
It's just a call, they delete your account pretty much instantly and apparently can do pro rata refund but I'm yet to see mine month after cancellation.

I don't know about credit checks and when the deal expires. You can cancel after 1 month.
No credit check, but you do need to add a payment method like credit card. Canceling is easy. They do want you to call, but you can convince them by email to cancel by email (sometimes) or get them to call you if you don't have credit.
As for when the last day to signup is, you can choose a future date for connection, so you should signup now.

After you pick your plan there is a checkbox saying "Don't connect before (optional)" that allows you to pick a date. I would wait and check for Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts late November.
