Decent, but I would put Sony XM3/XM4 over these still.

for listening to music/song yes. But their mic are terrible based on reviews. This days alot of users are using wireless headphones for WFH. Something to consider. Bose NCH700 is Microsoft teams certify if it means anything…

The XM3/4 arent terrible indoors if in a quiet area, they're terrible outdoors with lots of background noise. The Bose have background noise cancelling techniques which make it clearer.

Considering this is Bose's bread and butter in the aviation industry, its not all that hard to see why.

        • +5

My XM3 is extremely terrible indoor with an open office environment when everyone around you is generating background noise ;)

          • @Neology: I bought some XM4s as part of the Sony refurbished eBay deal and am in the process of returning them and going back to my Bose QC35s as no one can hear me on Teams/Skype/Zoom/Phone when there is any background noise.

I've not used the Bose 700s, but in general I think Bose have better microphones than Sony.

I have the Sony XM3 and Bose QC35, I much prefer my QC35's for the primary reason that they can pair two devices at once. So if I'm on my computer with my QC35's on listening to audio and a phone call comes through, it will ring on my QC35's, I can just click the button and talk without having to change headphones.

      • +1

If it helps the XM4 now have this feature.

  • Dog ate my Qc35. These or another pair of Qc35?

Mainly used them for night time tuning out and audiobooks and some travel.

      How about a new dog?
If that doesn’t work introduce some cane toads to the environment

    • qc35 ii on amazon for 286 at the moment, not bad

  • Qc35 again. Don’t like the touch sensitive buttons on these.

    • Could you not just disable them ?

  • Great headphones! I bought the Sony XM4 but had to return them because the mic was shocking, even inside the house. Thee are great and work perfectly on teams too

    Ordered one, Thanks OP!

I've now had XM3, Jabra Elite 85t, Soundpeats TrueAir2….. and Bose 700 on the way….

Don't forget about After Pay $20 or Latitude Pay $25 discount.

    • should post earlier…. I've already put my order in :(

      • +1

buy another and pay with after pay or latitude pay. Return the earlier purchase and get a refund.

        • +1

No q's asked if the box is untouched :)

      • Bought the second one with afterpay, for some reason the $20 off doesn't come through.
JB refers me to contact afterpay…. afterpay takes the request and needs further investigation.

        Anyone knows why this happen?

    • Afterpay has $20 off too

  • Have a set - love them

  • damn this is super tempting my qc35 midnight blue going well apart from the cushion slowly disintegrating though

    • The QC35ii that I own are awesome.

But every year I have to replace the ear cushion for $40. That's a total of $120 out of pocket for the past 3-4 years of use.

Definitely have gotten my money's worth from the initial investment, but I'm considering the NCH700 if their ear cushions are better. Would love to hear someone's experience.

      • $40? Buy the aftermarket ones for $6.

    • Headband pad or ear cushions?

      • ear cushions, I've had friends who bought the cheap shitty ones and they are way thinner and less comfortable, one of the main reasons I picked these is due to the comfort on head

        • the main reasons I picked these is due to the comfort on head

Yes, I agree, by the most comfortable for my head shape by a country mile. The Sony's by comparison are way way too tight and hard.

I've been using Bose QC's for 14 years, since the QC15, then the QC25, then QC35 and Now QC35ii. All use/used the same pads. I've replaced my pads about a dozen times. It is possible to get an aftermarket pad that is imperceptible to the original. That said, they are also poor quality ones out there.

          • @ash2000: do you happen to know where is good to buy or have a link by any chance?

edit also doesnt help I'm looking for blue replacements as opposed to the standard black/grey haha

            • @Duplicity:

do you happen to know where is good to buy or have a link by any chance?

I usually buy from ALi or eBay (different seller every time), so even if I get a good pair one time, the next batch might not be good. That said, out of the dozen pairs I've bought, I've had only one pair that was hard (ie NOT like the Bose melting foam feel).

So yeah, it's a punt, but the odds are in your favour!

Blue available here (but I don't know this seller):

              • @ash2000: cool thanks ill def give these a shot!

              • @ash2000: I am in the same boat - searching on ebay and don't want to buy cheap or expensive crap - how to chose properly ?

                thanks

                  @SurprisedPanda:

                  how to chose properly ?

Unfortunately there's no real way to know, however, price is not an arbiter of quality in my experience. Just buy the cheapest, they almost certainly all come from the same factory.

As mentioned earlier, I've only had one bad set (foam wasn't soft) in over a decade of buying this exact size of pad, so the odds are very much in your favour.

  • i recently went through the whole what headphones to buy saga & came down to Bose NC700 vs Sony XM4… Bose won when I tried them on in JB, not looked back & wouldn't change my mind if I had to do it all again. This was about 4-6 weeks ago at $377 on sale

Only bad thing about them… 18 hour battery life WITHOUT noise cancelling turned on.

  • What color are any of you opting for?

    • Took triple mid night, showed me free delivery on checkout.

    • Bought Triple midnight

  • My Amex JB $20 back just expired 2 days ago …

  • Bought Xm4 last month from tgg @$340. Now I purchased these. Looks like I need to join rehab
