Ive got so much butter in my fridge now esp after the last 500g deal… Doesnt hurt to have more I guess?

E: Not available at any stores near me. :<

Seems very few stores in QLD have stock

    • Yeah its a problem, they used to go on sales quite a lot before covid

  • Best butter (unsalted is my jam… sorry, is my butter?)

    • I like the unsalted one too. I noticed you can't get them in the plastic containers anymore, only the wrapped cube. Unless this is only for my stores. I had an old container so I got the cube and cut it up and jammed it in there :)

Much nicer than the salted versions

      • Like the easy to spread tubs?

        • Yup.

          Those cubes are messy

Good price, wish it was Kerrygold though.

    • Is Kerrygold taste better

      • DOES.

        Sorry, I can't help it.

      • Kerrygold is the kind of butter you want to just eat by itself

    • depends if you like the taste of cultured butter or not , kerry gold isn’t cultured.

  • Best butter is Pepe Saya cultured butter.

    • $8.50/225g if anyone curious how much "Best butter" will cost you

      • Quality over quantity, but again depends on what you are using it for, for cake and pastry sure lurpark is ok, for toast or spread it over to sourdough, for me always Pepe Saya. At the end of the day it definitely costs more for quality product.

  • nice thing about lurpak butter is that it is CULTURED butter so it has a slight tartiness to it , and I find it means i also get a more distinctive butter taste. cultured butter seems to be more popular overseas than in australia, so we seem to pay a premium for cultured vs normal butter which is the bulk of what we have on our shelves.
lurpak seems to be the cheapest cultured butter at supermarkets.
i use lurpak on my toast or crumpets or bread and the cheap normal butter in my cooking

  • Went in to my woolies today, couldn't find this particular one.
