[VIC] Sony 55"/65"/75"X9000H - $1449.99/ $1749.99/ $2549.99 @ Costco Ringwood (Membership Required)

780

Been looking around for this model of Sony recently and nowhere has stock. Cheapest JB could do was $1995 but no stock. Goodguys was $1795 if you get the 10% off but none in VIC.

Walked in and saw the prices and heaps of stock. Picked a 65inch one myself.

  • would this be better for watching sport than a Samsung UN55NU8000?

    • +2

      yes

    • +4

YES! some of the samsung are trash. Just look up reviews online bro

    • seems to get the same rating for sport as the UN55NU8000 https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/sony-x900h-vs-samsun…

    • +1

NU8000 was probably the best mid range TV Samsung have done for years. Not sure this would be too much better tbh based on my inkling alone but seems to be backed up by rtings

  • +11

Does it come with fly repellent?

    • +1

      Optional accessory here.

    • -1

That's awesome for the people in da' know! ;)

  • +3

Actually looking for one, would be great if they did the same price online instead of having a useless membership since I'm more than 10km from all the stores

    • I feel you. I was lucky enough to drive by after work today and lucky enough to be within 10kms of a store. Been searching for one of these babies for a few weeks now. lol

    • From Vic Gov site:

"If you cannot get the items you need within 10km, you can travel to the shops closest to you."
      https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covidsafe-set…

Looks like you can go get your TV ;)

      • Couldn't disagree more. They might be selling apples for $0.10/kg at Dubbo, doesn't mean I can justifiably drive from Vic to NSW. Unless there exists no other retailers which sell TVs within 10kms of pingponged; this is much like the rest of us who have been affected by covid and the lockdown restrictions.

  • This is the same as the other X9000H 75", but without shipping included? Is shipping worth $150?

    • This is costco. so no shipping? haha their online price is different to the instore prices too btw.

      • Thanks for clarification. Purchased one online the other day. I suspect that is the price of delivery convenience

  • Could do a price match with JB hifi yesterday
Add 5% discount and stack with JB GC 10% , knocked it down to 1280$ .
Otherwise you can call JB sale line and ask nicely for the pricematch without 5% discount, still very good.

    • +1

I've had one on order from JB for 3 weeks. They haven't got stock at all state wide.

      • same, i have been told stock will be soon and they have made appointment for next week to installation.

    • how do you get 5% discount and where do you get JB GC for 10%?

      • you can get 5% discount via suncorp rewards, or find classified ads where someone will be selling for 10% off GC.

    • @:Markbk, would you mind sharing your tax invoice, I have ordered TV 3 weeks and still waiting. I will ask them to price match guarantee to see if they can refund the difference. or PM me. thank you.

      • You'll be waiting awhile. I have one on order with JB too. They haven't got stock at all. I called today and they refunded me cos can't get hands on stock anywhere.

        • really, I got a call from them yesterday and they arranging booking dates to delivery. I need to check again with them.

Last night I was at Costco Adelaide and KD85X9000H was selling for $3899.99.

  • How big was the package for the 65 inch? Do you need a van to transport it?

    • Does it fit in a corolla?

    • I've got a van. So works well. But the guy told me 65 inch can go in a backseat of a sedan/hatch no worries. they even help you load.

    • +2

From my experience couldn't put Hisense 55N7 into 2015 Camry a fee yesars ago. Tried put back seat Flat still have a bit outside. The guy from TGG just taped the box into my car and ask me to drive slowly

    • +2

I bought one a few months back, same model and size.

It most certainly does not fit in a Toyota Aurion… Assuming you want the rear doors shut, that is.

The warehouse guy and I did try. We managed to squeeze the damn thing into the backseat of my car, but could not shut the doors on it. It's one big box. I had to nick over to Bunnings and hire a ute for an hour to get it home

  • The day I saw this drop below 2k on Sony site I snapped it up. $1995 and free delivery.

So I might have paid a little more than some of these prices that then need delivery added, and I'm watching the stock right now. Very happy with this tv. I have the 65inch version

    • The 75jnch has been as low as 2.25k, hard to justify paying 300 more

      • 75 might be too big, unless you got a big big room. 65 is plenty big.

        • +2

I thought the same, I have a 65 inch and only sit 2.5m from it. You get used to it, hoping to get a 75inch next time

        • +2

          All relative mate.
Personally would never call 65 big.
          I have a small room with 75. Can't wait to go 85.

        • There's no such thing as too big unless it can't fit into the room, bigger than the wall or you have to turn your head to watch the sides… But that's just my opinion.

    • Nice! I missed that and have been waiting for JB but no stock so no dice. And 75inch would be nice but probably too big. But the price difference to the 75 was a little much for me.

  • At this price point, would you be better of getting this or pay another 1.5 - 2K get the LG CX / C1? Using it for PS5

    • If you can afford the LG OLED, go for it. My cousin has it with his PS5 and he loves it. I don't game. Only stream tv to watch. It's hard to compare tbh. cos the price of the OLED is doubled of this almost. I couldn't justify the extra $. Especially in covid.

      • Thanks for the advice

      • What about the price for this Sony 65" vs the LG OLED 55" for $1,695, in the Good Guys offer floating up the Ozbargain charts? 65" vs OLED….hmmmmm.

    • +1

Second mralvinwong's comment that if you can afford the LG, opt for that. We had the Sony originally but found 4k120 to be blurry on Call of Duty Cold War which is one of the few PS5 games which supports 120fps. Had the Sony tv refunded and got the LG CX, has no issues at all with displaying 120hz. Use the tv for a RTX3080 PC and PS5.

For whoever need delivery (VIC) i just bought this 75inch of this tv at $2549 including delivery at the goods guys. Need to call the stores to get this deal though.

  • i have a z9f which is very similar to this with same optical wide-viewing layer on the screen and it honestly sucks. The blooming is out of control. Personally i wouldn't look at anything in the sony range until the wide-view optical layer is removed or drastically improved

    • Your Z9F is much better than this. Also x900h doesn't have wide angle viewing. This TV has about 30 dimming zones, yours has over 100, plus Z9f is almost triple the brightness.

      • oh i must have it confused with the x950h. But your wrong about one thing. Given that the x900h doesnt have the wide angle viewing layer it would be considerably better than my z9f. Optical viewing layer is atrocious. Dimming zones and brightness be dammed. Would rather not have big milky splotches all over my TV and a way better native contrast ratio.

        • The native contrast ratio is worse on your tv but local dimming should make up for it. Sounds like you got a bad screen with too much clouding on the panel. I'm guessing certain parts light up in the same section all the time even with local dimming on high

          • @Whisper Quiet: the whole panel is like this. it's so widely reported as an issue on avforums that i would be very very surprised if it was an issue that only effected my panel. There is a guy on there that sent his TV back 3 times for a replacement and every panel was the same. It was also reported in HDTVTest's review. There would need to be 10x more local dimming zoned to get close to being able to offset the blooming. I thought the reports were exaggerated myself until i got my unit.

            • @gruffjaguar: Theres been people who have got clean panels but yeah it wasn't the best ratio for that.

  • I got a 75" X900H back in November for about $2500 once you take off the discount + GC that was thrown in.
It's a solid TV, picture wise it is great and I can easily recommend it.
The only downfall is the remote when compared to other brands.
A nice deal on a 85" would be very tempting if it was to arise.

Just had pricematch TGG with free Disney + for 75". Getting delivered tomorrow

    • May I ask how did you price match? Like how did you show them the costco instore price? Thanks

    • Yeah some store names would be great. I’ve tried to ring 5 or 6 TGG stores around and none wanted price match with Costco, saying the best price they could do is $2,8XX.

      • +1

probably cos a few of them doesn't have stock i suspect.

Bundall store. I think i might of took the last one though. Lady who i spoke to told me she was going to check with the manager. Then she had the go ahead after few mins

I got JB Hi Fi to price match this for the 75" last night. Called their sales line on 13 52 44 and the whole thing took less than 5 minutes. I paid with 5% off JB Hi Fi gift cards from my employer's staff rewards program paying only $2421.55. As an added bonus, free next day delivery in Vic at the moment due to lock down.

  • Price back up to $2,799.99 at Ringwood Costco. Was there tonight
