[VIC] 50% off Respite Care @ The Alexander Aged Care Centre (Clayton)

40

The Alexander Aged Care Centre is offering 50% off respite care stays at our state of the art facility in Clayton, Melbourne Victoria.

Respite care offers people short stay arrangements that can be beneficial to the carer and the person receiving care. These stays can be great for giving a carer time away if they need a holiday or to deal with personal matters. They can also help introduce individuals to assisted community living.

The centre offers modern features, nutritious and delicious meals and regular activities. A registered nurse is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The safety, health and well-being of The Alexander Aged Care Centre residents is paramount. Staff are trained to follow strict lockdown procedures when required by the State Government.

The Federal Government determine the fees that a person pays when entering an aged care home. Included in those fees is the Daily Care Fee and this is applied to those seeking respite care. As of 20 September 2020, the Daily Care Fee is $52.25 per day. The Alexander Aged Care Centre does not charge an Additional Services Fee - individuals are charged the Daily Care Fee. Costs can vary based on an individual's unique situation and the length of time they require to stay. More details available on the website and by enquiring with The Alexander Aged Care Centre to discuss your requirements.

A potential consumer does require an Aged Care Assessment Service (“ACAS”) assessment. Staff can answer any questions you have by visiting the site and enquiring.

Well it's Melbourne aged care. How much to put my Mother in law in for "respite." She might be shouting "he's trying to murder me" but it's just the early onset dementia talking.

Getting an ACAS referral isn’t exactly easy as an outpatient unless things have changed since I was last on geris
There’s also wait times for levels of packages to be approved and I could be wrong but I thought this needed to be organised by a SW
Not sure what level of care this provided
Really just seems like free advertising for something that should be very individualised and tailored - is like advertising that for building a house “from $400,000” but we all know it’s not the same

  • Anyone can complete an Referral for an ACAS in the community via MyAgedCare. In hospitals it can be organised by a Social Worker or Occupational Therapist this can vary from hospital to hospital.

It is a form of free advertising. I am a social worker so this is an area I know very well. I get lots of emails and phonecalls from various Aged Care Facilities with deals such as 3 weeks free respite or 50% off for 1 week. These offers are to entice people back into Aged Care due to a lot of the residents being taken out of Aged Care at the peak of Covid last year.

    • dont you think we need to hear about these deals?
