I bought this a few years ago when it was on special for around this price, lasted about a month before i got a proper one. if your lawn isn't 100% flat this works like rubbish

    • before i got a proper one
      What exact model/make?

I'm guessing traditional lawn mower, petrol or electric

        • yeah, a traditional petrol one.

    • I got one of these at Christmas for a small 7x4m lawn and it works perfectly fine.

These are best for a specific type of grass and as above mentioned. Very flat and even land

Unrelated but I have a neglected lawn with long weedy grass that my lawnmower struggles with. Anyone know where i could get something like a scythe to cut it down a bit?

      Whipper snipper?

      • I have an electric one with the crappy string and it's toothless

Whipper snipper is what I use. Seems to do the job.

    • 3mm Flat Bar from metal shop, angle grind edge sharp, heat up a piece of garden hose to slide over bar as a handle to prevent blisters. Profit

      • Thanks. No angle grinder so won't be making my own blade though

Petrol powered brushcutter is one option if it happens a lot. Can hire them if it's a once off, otherwise probably better to buy. Another option is a better mower - I had a beast of a mulching mower. Nothing would stop it. It would run over branches, turn them into a fine dust, and pump it back into the ground. A wonderful, if slightly scary, thing. Gave it away after moving into the 'burbs.

      • Thanks. Might be able to borrow one from the folks
