    • Did exactly the GC route. Although only 4% off at Suncorp. Around $485 all up.

Now, I just have to look at reviews regarding this tv..

  • I have this tv and use it on my PS5. It plays 4K60 with HDR with a crisp picture. Great value for money.

    • How's the refresh rate?

      • 60fps

        • Are you 100% sure about this? I'm struggling to find any evidence online this is a 60hz TV. Smooth motion rate 100 is 50hz I thought? Thanks

@jcarl: 50/60hz on a tv is the same.. this pops up in every tv deal lol

My Samsung Q60T is also "50hz" but hook up my PS4 pro.. 4k60

          • @jcarl: Also interested in knowing this. For $500 it seems amazing value if what OP said is true..

            • +2

@velleyy: There's no difference, as nobody manufactures 50Hz panels. The TVs in Europe and Australia are still advertised as 50 and 100Hz, though, but they are all native 60Hz or 120Hz. They use the 50Hz mode to display TV broadcasts.

Once you feed them with a 60Hz signal, like from a games console, the TV will automatically switch to 60Hz.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like a good deal. But, negs? Really? Can't even ask genuine questions..

  • What’s the difference between S 5 & S8. Seem to be close in pricing for a slightly smaller size S8. Wondering which one to compromise on?

Thanks for that. & thanks OP. Pulled the trigger!

        “S8's viewing angle is 178 whereas S5 is 89”

“The 89 degree figure is from the centre. Multiply by 2 to get the full viewing angle like the S8's reported figure. 89 x 2 = 178 degrees.”

        Is the latter comment correct?

  • Good price, but I think it may go even lower later. Just check some major resellers(JB, HN, BL) and they are all fully stocked across all stores.

    • Highly unlikely it will go lower.. Retail price was $795 last month and dropped to $695. All retailers are giving a $100 discount up until 30/06/2021 and very rarely you double dip with the added Ebay discount, especially 15% off.

      • We'll see. The best eBay discount can be 20% off.

The reality is that sale like Dell has been through the year and the price is getting lower and lower for the same thing.

If you need a TV replacement soon, it is a good buy. Some people buy it and find it price dropped later when it is still unboxed.

  • Thanks OP. Pulled the trigger and already got confirmation my order is ready for pick up.

  • Great price for a 58” Tv but be prepared Hisense is going to pull out 2 days DOA replacement warranty if your tv has problems on the 3rd day you will have to go through repair process.

    • We had a fantastic experience (or luck) with Hisense warranty, almost 2 year old 50" N series ($700) died and because dad was in such a rural area they just sent a replacement via courier, except they don't make that model anymore so they sent a 55" Q series ($1500) to replace it.

Kegsta, you ever played LoL with that username?

        • Yea but these days I only play OFA and URF and TFT with my old friends when they are on, I'm to bad and time short for the real deal anymore.

          • @Kegsta: Yeah? Same. They've changed the game so much I cbf learning all the new crap. Anyway I asked cause all I remember is your mate getting butthurt every time I thrashed him. Good times.

  • Would people recommend this or TCL 55P615 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/629446)?

Looking to get it as second TV for parents, don't need native smart features as they have a Chromecast that can be used and they mostly stream shows through it.

I'm just not familiar with these brands.

  • Or pay $545 + $30 postage with the code "PPSS100" at checkout. eBay is currently running a deal with the seller.
